About the event
[edit]This is an Intro-to-Wiki training session for members of the Tayside Museums Forum, which will help you to understand more about Wikipedia and equip you with the skills to begin editing.
This is a hands-on training session, during which you will be shown how to edit Wikipedia. Please ensure that you create a Wikipedia account in advance of the event - if too many people create accounts from one IP address in 24 hours, the IP address will be blocked.
- How do I prepare?
- Create a Wikipedia account - your username should not include your organisation name, or be promotional. More info here: Wikipedia:Username policy
- Computers will be provided.
- Learn about editing if you like: Tutorial, or Getting started on Wikipedia for more information
