Article To Be Used On/Reason For Upload: [MultiCharts], there is currently no logo for the article
Portion used The entire logo is used to convey the meaning intended and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the intended image.
Resolution The logo is of a size and resolution sufficient to maintain the quality intended by the company or organization, without being unnecessarily high resolution.
Purpose of use The image is used to identify MultiCharts, a notable product or service. The significance of the logo is to help the reader identify the product or service, assure the readers that they have reached the right article containing critical commentary about that product or service, and illustrate branding associations of the product or service in a way that words alone could not convey.
ReplaceableBecause it is a logo there is almost certainly no free equivalent. Any substitute that is not a derivative work would fail to convey the meaning intended, would tarnish or misrepresent its image, or would fail its purpose of identification or commentary.
File upload request declined. Graeme Bartlett has already explained why we can't use either of these options. If you have a camera, and live near the stadium, you could just go out and take a few photos yourself. Other than that, I don't think I can help further. Article To Be Used On/Reason For Upload: IELTS/New logo released by the company. Current IELTS page has old branding and is incorrect. Apologies if I have done this incorrectly.
Comment: Can you please explain to me what difference there is between the new and the old logos are. I might be missing this entirely, but I don't see any difference. Sven ManguardTalk06:57, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It looks to me as if the new logo is just the plain text with the tm on it, without slogan or circles. This would be pd-textlogo. so I have uploaded the new simpler one.
File upload request declined. Wikipedia is not an image hosting site. Images are only uploaded if to Wikipedia to appear in articles. The article for Ahmad Raza is of a scholar who died in 1921, so this clearly isn't intended for his article, and neither this request nor your contribution history indicate a different destination. Secondly, we will need confirmation from the location where the image is stored currently that the image is PD. Finally, the image itself is not encyclopedic in quality, it has substantial digital effects and photo-shopping, and would be hard to use constructively. Sorry about the pile on, but I'd rather you know the policies in case you want to resubmit this at a later date. Sven ManguardTalk03:04, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I can't do that for two reasons. One, the copyright on that would be a mess, and the text logo works just as well. Two, I can't reach the link you gave me. File upload request declined. There is no reason to replace the current image with this one. While the other image isn't ideal, this jpg has less than excellent shadowing, but more importantly, has a large amount of artifacts on the center left. In other words, it's got a bunch of white stuff on the side that isn't part of the image, looks bad, and can't be removed. Sorry, I can see you're trying. Article To Be Used On/Reason For Upload:http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Beretta_Px4_Storm - error in article "The magazine holds the top round directly behind the barrel's breech end so only a slight feed ramp is needed." This is incorrect, as apparent by my image. This particular unit requires a redesigned feed ramp in either the frame and/or the barrel to allow a round to feed unfettered into the barrel thus negating what the article states. It is possible that my particular unit is exhibiting a manufacturing defect and may not apply to all Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm units.

Post archive review: Declined No FFU personnel were willing to upload these images. This is because there does not appear to be a use for the images at this time. Other than the first image, which is a high quality portrait, the images here did not illustrate the intended subject well, having him in odd positions and at odd angles and showing only parts of him at a time. As for the portrait, I personally did not upload it because another PD portrait of high quality already existed on the intended article. I only upload to Wikipedia, not to commons, and I only upload images that are going to be placed in pages at the time of the upload. I cannot speak for other members of the project. I though that unless you have a copyright for the formula (i.e. pharmaceuticals etc.) I'm pretty sure you can't copyright a written depiction of chemical formula, no matter how long. It's not original enough for copyright if it occurs naturally. That's my understanding. I could be totally wrong, but that's my understanding. Sven ManguardTalk21:48, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
We should probably ask the chemistry project people who may know the true situation. The issue is not if it is natural, as representations of natural things can have copyright, eg photo or drawing. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:42, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

HELD Since this would be adding a non-free image to an FA, I asked the people at Morrowind for comment. There is an onus for non-free images not be be on Featured Articles, hence the situation. If they green light it, I'll upload it for you, if not, I won't, as it would be removed and we cannot have unused non-free imaged. The comment period is one week. Thank you for your reply. I must say this is my first upload to wikipedia, and I'm not really sure what you mean with 'the comment period is one week'. Does that mean I have one week to reply (and say what?), or the people from Bethesda Softworks? Or the people who maintain the Morrowind article?
p.s I'm also not really sure if this is the way to ask this question, but I don't know where else to ask it, sorry if it's wrong.

I'm not sure how to provide this to you, Sven. Can you examine the licensing of the San Francisco Chronicle image at http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/File:San_Francisco_Chronicle_front_page.jpg and tell me how this one differs? How about http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/File:New_York_Times_front_page,_September_29,_2010.jpg? The only rationale being given there is that it's BELIEVED the low-resolution image constitutes fair use and that the copyright holder LIKELY is the S.F. Chronicle, which strongly implies that the image did not meet the explicit tests you're requiring of this image I'm trying to upload under the exact same rationale. It is copyrighted, but fair use applies here in illustrating a non-commercial enyclopedic entry about the newspaper itself. As stated on the SF Chronicle image page as well as the NY Times image page, other uses on Wikipedia or elsewhere may constitute copyright infringement while not violating fair use to illustrate the newspaper's entry here -- so no, releasing an image for use on the IJ entry on Wikipedia does NOT require it is released to everyone, contrary to what you stated. This is a fair use image used to give a visual representation of a newspaper image; there is no free equivalent to this image; this image is of low resolution; its use on Wikipedia does not compete with the copyright holder -- and these are the exact same requirements all other newspapers are meeting. Why are you requesting more from us? Kzhessel06:29, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
