Discussion
[edit]Notes:
- The updates may be bursty. For example, if on June 1 the appropriate person fills in the TFA subpages for June 2-8, the bot will create all TFA title subpages for June 2-8 on its next run (but then wouldn't edit again until someone filled in June 9). The date range is currently set to 7 days starting from "today", but this can easily be changed.
- The bot will periodically check the existing subpages just in case a TFA must be changed. These checks are currently done at (or shortly after) 23:00 UTC, 00:00 UTC, and occasionally throughout the day. Of course, no edit will be performed if not needed.
- As the subpages of Template:TFA title are protected using the title blacklist, if approved the bot account will require the accountcreator flag (or the tboverride right in some other manner). If necessary, I will create a separate bot account for just this task.

Approved for trial (1 days). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. A supported bot produced by an established BotOp. Allow the bot to run productively once, we'll look at the output then. Josh Parris 11:39, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Trial complete. (kinda) As the bot currently lacks the tboverride right (so it can't edit the template subpages), and someone has already created the subpages for May 30 and May 31 by hand, and TFAs for June 1+ haven't been selected yet, I adjusted the bot to create subpages of User:AnomieBOT/tmp/Template:TFA title for the trial. Okay, I'm happy to approve this, but want a separate account to AnomieBOT; I don't want tboverride on tasks that don't need it (just asking for trouble). Come back with a new bot account. Going to bed now. Josh Parris 12:15, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Approved. and the bot account requires additional rights to successfully operate (note left on approval) Josh Parris 01:08, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
