Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Ryan Zinke may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • School]] and attended SEAL training (class 136). He was then assigned to SEAL Team ONE in [[Coronado, California|Coronado, CA}} where he led counter-insurgency and contingency operations in the Persian Gulf and the Pacific

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, Zinkecampaign, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. GB fan 23:21, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Are you saying you are Ryan Zinke since that is the article you have been editing? GB fan 00:34, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No. I'm doing this on his behalf. Should I choose a different username? First time editing an article, so this is all new to me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zinkecampaign (talkcontribs) 00:37, 15 January 2014‎

Yes you should pick a different name. I would suggest you read Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide before going any further. You should not be editing the article on his behalf. GB fan 00:51, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks! Will make the username change and adjust accordingly. Would appreciate if you could restore the account as there are other items that need to be adjusted.

Decline reason:

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a campaign that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. GB fan 01:17, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid I have to disagree with the blocking administrator's statement that "Your username is the only reason for this block". There is also (and in my opinion more importantly) the fact that you are clearly here for promotional purposes, which is contrary to Wikipedia policy. If you appear to be editing for the purpose of promotion, you are likely to be blocked, no matter what username you use. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:46, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with JamesBWatson. The subject of your editing appears to be entirely one person, who is currently standing for election. Wikipedia is absolutely not the place to campaign for him. Changing your username will only (perhaps) lead to unblock if you also undertake not to edit about or for Ryan Zinke.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:59, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
