Zereshk, as a contributor to articles concerning Shi'as, I ask to help ,modify articles about Karbala and Imam Hussein and everything about Shi'a history, where i always seem to find expressions such as "Shi'as believe" or "Shi'as claim" as if they weren't historically accurate.

I have a question

[edit]

How do we make new Wiki-species or categories for Wiki-users. E.g.. Watcher wiki 9 aspecie that watches and acts as a vanguard for protecting articles against vandlas and POV pushers)? Mer30 69.196.164.190

Im not exactly sure what you mean, but in such circumstances, what I do is usually I copy off the syntax from a similar category. I havent made any categories b4, so Im not sure if I can answer your question.--Zereshk 22:45, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do yiu think the goal of human is achievement to happiness as much as it can and nothing else. Isn't some kinds of it wrong or harmful?--Sa.vakilian 04:09, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I want to exercise writing in English. So please tell me my faults. Anyway let's return to our discussion.

As a person who is belonged to minority, I found cultural pluralism useful to survive. But remember this ideology based on wrong epistemology. Its basis is inability to judge between true and false. So when somebody doesn't know what is true and what is wrong thus he doesn't know what is good and what is bad. It means nobody can says the barbarian ethics is worse than European ones and also nobody can say Islamic Ethics is better than Jahili ones. Therefor anybody is allowed to do what he wants unless he doesn't bother others. Unfortunatelly there isn't any reason for this condition but utilitarianism with pragmatistic approach.--Sa.vakilian 05:06, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Amir in Eranshahr

[edit]

Dude, the chapter is called: نکوهش مکن چرخ نیلوفری را from the book: 15 Ghasideh bargozideh az Naser Khosrow.

You won't believe it but I used to live just a few block down of Shater Abbas (for decades !) but never tried it out, I better try it now .... By the way I've found a full Avestan Yasna with a complete Avestan-to-Persian dic. (including original Avestan words in Avestan alphabet). It also could be quite useful in List of cognate terms in Vedic and Avestan mythology. Best wishes. --Amir85 09:19, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

With regards to the horribly segmented discussion on my talk page and elsewhere, I posted a request for information about Iranian copyrights at Wikipedia talk:Copyrights/Can I use.... Ziryab / Zyriab merge?

[edit]

Saw your suggestion. I think the best choice would be to merge into Ziryab and have Zyriab as a redirect, if for no other reason that "Ziryab" seems the more common transliteration of the name into English. Crypticfirefly 03:14, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It seems very wrong to talk about certain historical figures like they are none Iranians. The article is basically saying that Azaris are non-Iranians. 69.196.164.190

Thanks by the way; I have a feeling that a couple of editors have made sockpuppets and are getting read to complicate things.

I have a felling that the Azari articles will soon be the realm of very heated debate and editing. I am always watching :) 69.196.164.190

Could you please have a look at People of Afghanistan, Hazara, and Tajiks. The above mentioned user is vandalizing by changing population numbers, nationalities (for example his claim that "Avicenna was a Turk"), etc. Thx Tājik 00:19, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Persian Jews

[edit]

It is true that the problems with this article is immense. I just noticed what happened but am not surprised that it was "speedy keep" so quickly. My opinion is that it should be moved to Jews of Iran and add in all the information that they deleted because of their POV against Iran. What do you think? Khorshid 07:14, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is definitely a problem article when someone like that keeps deleting anything neutral or positive and only wants to include negative information. That does not conform with this policy of NPOV. He is in the wrong. I have been very busy with work too, but when I have time I will try to learn what we can do. Khorshid 03:02, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

Dear Zereshk! Thanks for your continueous efforts to expand wikipedia articles about Iran. I also need to thank you for your contributions to Iranian science related articles. You may have noticed that I am also concentrating mainly on science, art and literature in Iran and Iranian intellectuals. My aim is mainly to introduce "real" Iranian scientists and researchers and make a clear distinction between them and fake scientists and pseudo scientists. For example I believe M.M. Sheikh-Jabbari, a 35 years old physicist currently working in Iran is a much greater physicist than Mahmoud Hesaby (whom I personally respect for his pioneering works in establishing science institutions in Iran and ofcourse he was a real scientist but definitely did not have international reputation). I know of many Iranian scientists who are busy publishing fake articles or hold fake degrees. I would like to introduce Iran's hidden scientific society. Unfortunately Iranians are mainly ignorant of their great figures. Any young educated Iranian have heard the name of Forough Farrokhzad but very rarely they are familiar with Simin Behbahani, Abdolhossein Zarrinkoub, Bijan Jalali and Shafiei-Kadkani.

About Mohsen Rezaei: He become a "PhD student" a few years ago when he served as a member of "Majma Teshkhis"!! (after he left his post as the commander of Sepah). He did not pass through the usual PhD selection program and he did not wok and finished like other students. Moreover He does not hold a Master degree which is absolutely unusual in Iran. Just after his graduation, he was promoted to professorship in economics at the University!! He has got a fake PhD degree and I would not consider him an almnus of Tehran University. He is definitely an almnus of Iran University of Science and Technology. Please add his name to Tehran University alumni if you want. This is my personal point of view. Please let me know of your opinion. j :) --Joe Dynue12:55, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Internal spam

[edit]

In regards to your spamming over a dozen user talk pages with the same message about this AfD: this is strictly forbidden. Policy prohibits internal spamming, defined as, "cross-posting of messages to a large number of user talk pages, by Wikipedians, in order to promote Wikipedia matters such as elections, disputes, discussions, etc.". It also states, "Don't attempt to sway consensus by encouraging participation in a discussion by people that you already know have a certain point of view." I have reverted the majority of your spam, and strongly advise you not to attempt something like this again. --InShaneee 02:42, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He was just informing editors who can testify to the truth of some of those points. Majority does not necessarily always makes the best decision. If there is an exception to that policy, it is what Zereshk did. --Aminz 02:45, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He was breaking with Wikipedia policy in trying to get systematic keep votes. It is stated in WP:Spam and it is not fair to the rest of us that respect the afd process enough not to spam to other users to vote a certain way in one of our afded articles.--Jersey Devil 02:47, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. The problem is simply that even if your message doesn't say, "Vote Keep here", you're still picking and choosing who to notify, which affects how the vote will go. As long as you know not to do it in the future, it's all good. --InShaneee 03:02, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
"For the record", removing internal vote spamming is standard proceedure. --InShaneee 03:09, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is your only warning: do not make personal attacks and encourage others to violate policy. What you did was wrong, and if you or any of your friends tries it again, you will be blocked. I'm not 'hell bent' on anything but enforcing policy; I've never seen this page before today, and I doubt I'll visit it again. If you can't find anything better to do than go around smearing me and telling other users to ignore my warnings, you will be blocked. --InShaneee 03:16, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not forcing anything; what you did is against policy, and that is a fact. Telling people that it's perfectly ok is trolling, and that is also a fact. Keep it up and get blocked, plain and simple. --InShaneee 03:21, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your admission that you will continue spamming off-site: You have now been blocked for 48 hours, and will be blocked again should it be shown that you ever carry out such email spam. --InShaneee 17:03, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The second one discribe about sooetafahom darbare Iran. But it should have a continius and related text. Zereshk, As I said before User: InShaneee was wrong in blocking you for 48 hours. Not that this wrong decision implies that all his decisions are wrong (I am not following the procedure we both saw some people use here: '1. Take a position first 2. Try to find a reason to justify the position'); But I personally wish not to work in cases where InShaneee is also involved anymore.

Civility

[edit]

Regarding this edit: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on the contributor; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. --InShaneee 22:15, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I get burnt whenever I read "Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption." --Aminz 00:33, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

if i may add, i think that zereshk is being unjustly persecuted and on he makes very good points on his user page. now i dont want to judge, but if zereshk's side of the story is correct, then you need to rethink your position and be the better person and admit you were wrong. again, i dont know the whole story, but this is just my 2 cents.Khosrow II 01:18, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for butting in, Khosrow. Zereshk, it was a rant, you were being incivil, and you have been warned. Enforcing policy is not harrassment, and I will continue to do it for as long as you continue to violate it. Hence, I'm hoping you see a solution to this dilemma. --InShaneee 02:34, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding this:

This is your last warning. If you continue to make personal attacks, you may be blocked for disruption.

--InShaneee 02:38, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Zereshk, Please cool down a bit. You are in a weaker position. We don't have the justice of Ali here. Take that into account. I should add in fairness that I consider some of your comments to be incivil, but not extreme incivility as InShaneee views them or "personal attacks". --Aminz 02:43, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Aminz, degree doesn't matter. Incivility is incivilty, and is treated accordingly in all cases. Zereshk, I assure you I have picked no fight. If this was a fight, I'd be attacking you. However, I have no need for this, because A: I know that harrassment solves nothing, and B: you're so eager to flaunt policy that process will deal with YOUR attacks. Consider this your last warning, threats included. --InShaneee 02:49, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
InShaneee, I have become sensitive to your "threats".... And the degree of course does matter; it is a common sense. How do you specify the length of the block you prescribe. I dunno if you are believer in one of the Abrahamic religion or not; if yes, please explain to me what is the difference between great sins and other sins. --Aminz 02:53, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There is no loophole saying that a user can be incivil if they only do it 'a little'. Length of block is set at the admin's discretion based on the type of infraction committed, and may increase with successive infractions. Sorry, but I don't follow any Abrahamic religion, nor would I want to compare wikipedia to the bible if I did. --InShaneee 03:34, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
InShanee, instead of sitting here arguing about whether zereshk is incivil or not, i suggest you block or warn the User's i labled on your talk page, since you are an admin, it is your job to prevent vandals when you have become aware of them.Khosrow II 02:56, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Precisely why I'm here, my good interloper! Ah yes, I'm glad you mentioned that post of yours. Please don't come to my talk page demanding I block users. If there's a problem, I'll look into it and take the correct course of action; I don't need suggestions. As for the two users you mentioned, neither of them has broken 3RR that I can see. --InShaneee 03:01, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, i dont want to change the subject here, but let me say this: that was my first referral, so i didnt know exactly how i should have gone about it. also, i got blocked for 3 hours by another mod after i got recommended for blocking for reverting an article 3 times, and so far, the users i have pointed out have reverted several articles more than 5 times! how can you not call that breaking the rules? hmmm... maybe zereshk is right? anyway, check these articles : Tabriz rug, Persian Gulf, Iranian Azerbaijan/ check the histories, and you will see that certain anon users have continously put in POV and reverted many articles. May i remind you that these articles have been agreed by all of accuracy and format, and these users, without regard, edit them. other users and I cannot spend all of our time continuously reverting articles back to their previous versions. so please look into it. Khosrow II 03:07, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The rule is MORE than three reverts within 24 hours. If there's that much reverting going on on a page, it's probably better to just request that it be temporarily protected. --InShaneee 03:14, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Working on the wiki policies

[edit]

Zereshk, I think the solution lies on working on the wiki policies.

I have a suggestion which is raw at the moment:

-Admins should renew their adminship every six month.

Then wikipedia will become closer to a democracy. The acceptance rate in AfD's on the other hand may change.

Regards, --Aminz 22:31, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think we need to broaden our sight. Instead of dealing with particular admins, we work on the policies related to them. --Aminz 22:35, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

--Sa.vakilian 17:35, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Assalouyeh complex aerial.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Assalouyeh complex aerial.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ali Mohajerani 16:10, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy, I saw you were asking why your page was protected. I saw no apparent reason for it either -the reason given was to prevent attacks, but I see no indication of what the attacks were. Do you not know that Israel claims Hezbollah did it and that the UN Secretary-General is racist? By the way the Israeli foreign ministry has asked for volunteers to serf the net and launch a cmpaign to protect Israel. Here is the link.

Please look at this information; it has great relavance with the present situation in Lebanon

[edit]

A lot of evidence is showing up that is saying that the Jewish Holocuast is not what it was made out to be. There were alterior motivations for the Zionists. It all connects together.

This is some information to look over; it does challenge the conventional story. And before anyone starts making accusations of biase or anti-Semiticism...it is not I looked through it all. Zionists and Jews are not the same thing, neither are ISraelis and Jews. Just look at it to expand your horizons on the issue.

These are all documentaries on Zionism, the Holocaust, and how portions of it were fabricated or adultered. The first two is just collected information and also claims that there is a link with Septmeber 11, 2001 and the third was is a full visual documentary with interviews and academic explanations.

Info on Islamophobic group

[edit]

Hello,

What follows are the thoughts, expressed in their own words, and in the 'protest signs', of the obscure, very small, but very vocal 'activist group' known as "Protest Warrior".

"What's becoming clear is how the religion of Islam is addicted to war and mayhem. Not a radical minority, not a rogue sect, but its very essence is about submission and sacrifice and proving your worth by worshipping death in this life to gain a paradise of orgies and drunkenness. Their entire history is of warfare, and any accomplishments of their so-called Golden Age has been proven to be merely parasitic off the cultures they've conquered and reduced to dhimmi servitude. That every country under sharia is corrupt, belligerent, desolate and barbaric obviously gives them no pause, except to constantly drive them into further psychotic rage as they refuse to ever accept any responsibility for their conditions. They are akin to the powers in Orwell's 1984; there must always be an enemy. It's no surprise that women are treated like property in these countries as that's the only way Muslim men can feed their egos, to dominate others rather than ever actually produce something."

Kfir Alfia and Alan Lipton, founders of "Protest Warrior"

Their 'protest signs'...

Signs

I thought you might be interested in this group's sentiments. They are currently very actively editing their own article on Wiki and there is a lot of 'group think'. Perhaps you might want to become involved in the editing and discussion process on that page. If you do, please don't vandalize, and try to remain civil. Should you not want to involve youself, please forgive my intrusion.

I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --— Indon (reply) — 16:28, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
