The Dover Boys...
[edit]I've moved the article about The Dover Boys back to The Dover Boys. Wikipedia:Naming conventions says,
- Generally, article naming should give priority to what the majority of English speakers would most easily recognize, with a reasonable minimum of ambiguity, while at the same time making linking to those articles easy and second nature.
Normally I would agree with using the full proper title, but in this case the full title is ridiculously long, and the shorter title is much more well known. tregoweth 22:48, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
No content in Category:Cow and Chicken episodes
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Cow and Chicken episodes, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Cow and Chicken episodes has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Cow and Chicken episodes, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 23:30, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article Missä miehet ratsastaa, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 15:08, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Wikimania 2010 could be coming to Stockholm!
[edit]I'm leaving you a note as you may be interested in this opportunity.
People from all six Nordic Wiki-communities (sv, no, nn, fi, da and is) are coordinating a bid for Wikimania 2010 in Stockholm. I'm sending you a message to let you know that this is occurring, and over the next few months we're looking for community support to make sure this happens! See the bid page on meta and if you like such an idea, please sign the "supporters" list at the bottom. Tack (or takk), and have a wonderful day! Mike H. Fierce! 10:57, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Ok, well for some reason I thought so because of the many sources with same content I looked up. Is there an article to the official Finish Singles Chart. • вяαdcяochat 10:04, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
There is currently no article about the Finnish singles chart. A combined article for the Finnish albums and singles charts exists in the Finnish Wikipedia. YuckieDuck (talk) 11:53, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit]An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Last But Not Beast (Dexter's Laboratory). Since you had some involvement with the Last But Not Beast (Dexter's Laboratory) redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). [edit]Your corrections to song titles
[edit]I don't have an issue with most of this edit, but "Ram Pam Pam" is not a Finnish-language phrase or a phrase belonging to any one non-English European language. It transcends any one language because it's onomatopoeia, like the phrase "rum pum pum pum" in The Little Drummer Boy, so therefore does not follow European-language capitalisation rules and therefore we default to standard title capitalisation per MOS:CT, just like how Ram Pam Pam by Becky G and Natti Natasha is written on the English Wiki. (In case it's a point, it doesn't matter what other European-language wikis do, because as I'm sure you're aware, the English wiki has its own capitalisation rules.) Apple Music, her record label or Bess's own rendering of the title (that is, if she has made it a point to always write "Ram pam pam") is inconsequential, because there's no consistent capitalisation of the title from Google search results; and the fact it's a Finnish-language song does not matter, as I'm sure you wouldn't decapitalise a Finnish-language song with an English-language title. Thanks. Ss112 11:59, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
I indeed went with the capitalization used in the official sources (at least the record label's website, official uploads on YouTube and Spotify, the UMK page). I don't really have a problem with it being capitalized either way (although my personal preference would be the title capitalization rules of the language used in the song itself, with the exception of titles in another recognizable language, which you mentioned). It's an area where the English wiki seems to be a bit inconsistent, which can be seen here, for example: C'est la vie. Even the songs that don't have articles use both capitalized and lowercase "vie" seemingly randomly.
I guess "20Min" in the same listing is a somewhat comparable example. It seems to be listed as "20min" in most sources and the song itself is in Finnish, but the abbreviation "min" is translingual. Not to mention the missing space, probably a stylistic choice... YuckieDuck (talk) 21:37, 3 July 2022 (UTC)
