Your recent edits
[edit]I have again made substantial changes to your version of Alexander_L._Zaitsev. Most were stylistic and grammatical: I did a spell-check, removed excessive honorifics (it is not necessary to repeat Zaitsev's title every time we use his name), and re-formatted the references so that they were properly linked. Please see the Wikipedia:Style guide and Wikipedia's guidelines on biographies for more information.
There were two content changes: I put back his being awarded the 'the Hooligan of the year award', as this is seemingly notable and should be included. It is not flattering, but that is not the purpose of the article. I have also re-written the description of the Golevka observations to be more detailed.
As it is now, the article is no longer written like an advertisement, but your edits suggest that you need to review Wikipedia's neutral-point-of-view policy. We are not here to praise Zaitsev or to condemn him. Michaelbusch (talk) 19:51, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- Please do not repeatedly revert changes to articles. This is considered disruptive behavior (see Wikipedia's three-revert rule). The changes you are reverting are minor, as described above, and as largely simple typography. Please understand that 'Prices and awards' is not a suitable heading for a section, that reference tags are used to cite references, and that excessive honorifics are not used in Wikipedia articles. Again, I appreciate your contributions to Zaitsev's biography, and apologize for my error in the description of the Golevka observations. However, for the third or fourth time: please do not add extraneous honorifics. It is not necessary to repeat Zaitsev's titles over and over. Nor is it necessary to constantly use his full name. See Wikipedia:Style. Thank you. Michaelbusch (talk) 17:42, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- Again - unless there were two Zaitsevs mentioned in the article that might be confused, the intermittent use of his first name is confusing and not necessary - his name is on the top of the page, after all. Michaelbusch (talk) 22:34, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Please stop adding back Zaitsev's first name at every occurrence. Could you please explain to me why you keep doing this? Michaelbusch (talk) 17:08, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Zaitsev and Ostro discussed your repeated edits via email, initiated by MaxSem's interveniance; Ostro completely agreed to Zaitsev's original statement, thus, the original statements in the Zaitsev's Wiki article are true; Zaitsev accepted your excuse, I read your excuse but cannot accept your scientific behaviour within Wiki as scientist. - I am confused. Zaitsev and Ostro informed me of my error, and I replaced the text with a more accurate version (which Zaitsev has also edited since). This mistake was most definitely my fault, and is a good illustration of the usefulness of having everyone be able to edit Wikipedia. However, my having made one error does not render the rest of my edits invalid - that is a good thing as well.
- If in the above you refer to the repeated usage of Zaitsev's first name: that is a typographical matter independent of the truth or verifiability of the relevant sentences. 'Alexdandr Zaitsev' and 'Zaitsev' mean exactly the same thing in the article. It is simply a convention in spoken and written English to not repeat more of the name than is necessary - that is all.
- If you refer to my general patterns of editing: I am currently considering adminship on Wikipedia. I should therefore be advised on ways to improve my editing. If you do not like my general approach to editing, please explain why. Michaelbusch (talk) 17:58, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article H. Paul Shuch, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
