No, you don't stink just because people don't want a new signature. It's just that people are happy with their sig the way it is. if you really like sig design, talk to Ryan Taylor. Shapiros10 WuzHere  20:53, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I see you have "SexySeaClownfish's Talk Page" on top. If you want this to be your username, go to WP:USURP. Shapiros10 WuzHere  20:55, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing, such as the edit you made to User:Someone the Person. If your vandalism continues, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Gwernol 00:11, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone who has put themselves up to be an admin ought to have the judgment to avoid such childish vandalism. There is no excuse for this sort of action by any editor, let alone one being considered as an admin. I strongly suggest you withdraw your request for administration since there is no chance that it will pass. Gwernol 00:16, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This is another example of the sort of edit you should absolutely avoid if you wish to become an admin in the future. Gwernol 00:19, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent RfA

[edit]

I am sorry, but I have closed your Request for adminship prematurely. Simply put, you only have ~400 edits on Wikipedia; while your edit count isn't the only determining factor, and numerous people have their own personal standards by which they judge RfA candidates, this particular RfA was all but assured of not passing.

I am sorry about this, and I hope you don't take it personally. If you continue to contribute to the project in a positive fashion, I am confident that you would be able to submit a successful RfA in the future. You may wish to consider applying for an evaluation by other Wikipedia editors for feedback on how to obtain the necessary experience. Once you are ready to request adminship again, there is a great admin coaching program available, as well as a guide to requests for adminship.

If you have any other questions about becoming an administrator, please don't hesitate to ask me. Good luck! KojiDude (C) 00:48, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Substitution

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When using certain templates on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Please subst welcome messages, using {{subst:welcome}} instead of {{welcome}} . Also, wait that a user has edited before welcoming, we agreed that massing welcome messages was not a good idea. Cenarium (talk) 23:12, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you forgot to substitute your welcome message, you just have to replace {{{welcome}} with {{subst:welcome}}, this way you'll avoid a lot of work to our bots and editors who have to fix this. Cenarium (talk) 00:34, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Contribution

[edit]
I've noticed that most of your contributions seem to be asking others if they want a new signature. Just a friendly reminder to try to edit in the article namespace more. Shapiros10 WuzHere  23:48, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Per request, I will tell you what I've told a couple of other people. Signatures and userpages are fun, but at the same time Wikipedia is not a Myspace. If a user is only interested in having fun, and not interested in improving the mainspace, then we have to crack down and prevent the user from using the site for something that it wasn't intended for. Everyone likes to have fun; as you can see both Shapiros10 and I have custom signatures and fancy userpages. However, Wikipedia serves a higher purpose, and we have to serve this higher purpose as well if we want to have fun with the website. The best way to help Wikipedia is to improve the article namespace. This is the most important part of Wikipedia. Please shift a higher level of focus to this namespace, be it through copyediting, vandal patrolling, sourcing, anything that fits with your abilities. I'm sure that Shapiros and I would be more than happy to assist you with finding your personal niche. We want you to have as much fun as we have, if not more, but at the same time Wikipedia demands something more from you in exchange for the incredible community experience this website has to offer. Cheers :) The Hybrid 03:17, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Statustop template: alternate updating method

[edit]

SoxBot V has been taken offline indefinitely, therefore {{Statustop}} now uses a semi-manual updating method taking the status from Special:Mypage/Status. You can use the Qui monobook script written by TheDJ to update this page at the click of a button.

Certain parameters are no longer used, so you may wish to check the documentation of the Statustop template to ensure you are using it properly. Please feel free to drop by my talk page with any questions or concerns or to report problems with the template. Happy editing, xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 14:01, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SoxBot V is indef blocked, changing that page to "enable" won't fix it. Read the above, for a workaround. xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 00:44, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

help request

[edit]

Sure, what's up? xenocidic (talk) 01:17, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to accomplish but if you want to add your own custom statuses you'll need two pages - one to hold statuses and one to hold the switch. User:Wikieditor222/StatusTemplate now holds the template and User:Wikieditor222/Status now holds the switch. Your custom status "stupid" should work properly now - though I don't know why you'd want to say that! Let me know if you need further assistance. xenocidic (talk) 01:29, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for the barnstar and signature. Unfortunately, the sig is too long. You did inspire me to create my own sig, though. Thanks! Bob the Wikipedian (talkcontribs) 13:48, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your Created Signatures

[edit]

As much as I appreciate the signature you made me and the signatures you've created for others, be aware that you may be blocked for focusing on giggies too much. That's what almost happened to me. I don't mean to insult you, I just wanted to let you know.

SAVIOR_SELF.777 04:11, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly, you need to stop making these signatures and edit in the namespace. If you continue making signatures, only, I will get an admin involved, and it might lead to a block. iMatthew T.C. 10:11, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bob Burns

[edit]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia , as you did to Bob Burns (drummer), you will be blocked from editing. Tagging an existing article with adequate details constitutes as vandalism. Please learn the ropes or face the consequences. Thankyou ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 10:12, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And I have deleted every item in your userspace. Wikipedia is not a community website. If you contribute more to articles, then maybe you can spend time on your user space.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 05:15, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'd REALLY hate to say this, bro, but, you had it coming. I mean 19 mainspace edits only? Come on, dude! If you need any help, let me know. By the way, I don't know how long you've been here, but you may want to consider getting adopted. If not, that's fine. Just remember, mainspace edits should come before userspace edits. I know what you're thinking right now, I'm doing the same thing. There's just two differences.
  1. I've made more than 19 mainspace edits, I think
  2. Someone's using my username that's not me and ruining my contributions
Just remember that mainspace is always over userspace. I'll do whatever I can to help. Damn, I hope this doesn't ruin our friendship here on WP or on YouTube. SAVIOR_SELF.777 06:23, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

From the above it seems apparent you are having problems using Wikipedia and I'd like to offer to help. If you don't feel confident in writing articles don't feel that you have nothing to offer. Whilst I'm not a great article writer I think I've done some good work here and more than half of my edits are in the main space. Simple things like correcting grammar or spelling or adding references and maintenance tags have a positive effect on the encyclopaedia and are valued contributions. As has been repeated above several times Wikipedia is not a social networking site but that doesn't mean it is not a community, if you think you might be interested in editing in any particular area and need some advice I would be happy to help or look here for other editors who would be willing to take you under your wing on a more formal basis. Try not to take anything that has happened personally, it is not intended in such a way and if you do decide to try and help develop the encyclopaedia your contribution will be valued. Speedy deletion of User:SexySeaClownfish

[edit]

A tag has been placed on User:SexySeaClownfish, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:User:SexySeaClownfish|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. iMatthew T.C. 15:36, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Why have I been blocked and who is this I'm On Base guy?

Decline reason:

Since you have retired (in the process attacking another editor) and you have been using IPs to continue to vandalize your own user page, there is no reason to unblock you. In addition, the relationship betwen you and I'm On Base is clear. Gwernol 21:45, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
