User talk:Webmaster CC
September 2022
[edit]Hello, Webmaster CC, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Cowley College (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 19:32, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- No worries, I'm not planning on making further edits, I just need to accomplish one task which is to get a non-legal version of the Cowley College logo removed from Wikipedia because many people are using that incorrect version in their promotions. Webmaster CC (talk) 19:45, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- Well, mission accomplished; although we would have preferred that you observed Wikipedia's username policy against using the name of an organization or the name of a job posting within in as an account name. You can expect this account to be blocked shortly as well.
- Wikipedia editors are expected to have accounts that represent them as individuals, and named to reflect that. As well, if you are editing on behalf of an employer, you are expected to comply with Wikipedia's mandatory, non-negotiable paid editing disclosure policy. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 19:51, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- I posted on the Talk page that our current president is actually Dr. Randy Smith. Since I'm not supposed to edit due to conflict of interest, do I have to simply hope that an Editor sees that post and fixes that? Webmaster CC (talk) 20:12, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- You posted in the wrong place. Your post is on the user talk page of the blocked account (User talk:Cowley College). It should have been on the article talk page instead (Talk:Cowley Community College).
- You have two matters to address before making any further edits related to the article at all:
- Requesting a change of username to be in compliance with the username policy; and
- Making a clear disclosure of your employment with Cowley College, to be in compliance with the paid editing policy
- Non-compliance with other of these items can result in your account being blocked. Therefore, these should be of greater priority to you right now than any concerns over the article content. Once these have been resolved, then content matters can be discussed. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 20:21, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks! Webmaster CC (talk) 20:26, 14 September 2022 (UTC)
- Any chance you could update the president's name?

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.
Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".
If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.
