210+ death toll

[edit]

Thanks for fixing that. Could you also fix it in the infobox and lead? This is is borderline-vandalism tier tbh. JDiala (talk) 17:53, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like someone has already updated the infobox. I don't think it's vandalism; I think people are just reading different sources and since it's a current event, they haven't realized that information may change and the initial reports may later be found unreliable. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Aioli, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Eggs.

Thanks for your contributions to Sara Mansour (fashion designer). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and two of the sources that exist aren't independent of Mansour, which would've been pointed out if you had submitted the draft via {{subst:submit}}. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 00:26, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@I dream of horses All of the sources are independent of Mansour. I will add another, indepedent secondary source and republish to mainspace. Wafflefrites (talk) 00:30, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Wafflefrites Not true. The first source is an interview (Mansour talking about herself); the third source is, presumably, a press release. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 00:33, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@I dream of horses I see, So interviews are considered primary sources. If I create an article, am I supposed to use {{subst:submit}}? I just moved it to mainspace because the template popup that showed up for submission said there was a months-long backlog for review. Wafflefrites (talk) 00:36, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a reason why you can't wait a few months? I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 00:39, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@I dream of horses I see people creating new articles about current events on Wikipedia all the time. Was wondering how they were creating them if there was a backlog. Wafflefrites (talk) 00:40, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
They probably waited until they were more experienced to do so and then created articles directly into mainspace.
But what makes Sara Mansour special? Why does she need an article quickly? I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 00:42, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@I dream of horses I'm still trying to navigate the article creation process. Sara Mansour is a Jordanian fashion designer and she designs the dresses used for Umm Kulthum's holograph. She doesn't need an article quickly, I just didn't realize article publishing on Wikipedia could take months. Wafflefrites (talk) 00:51, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm wondering, do you Sara Mansour in any capacity? Personally or professionally? I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 00:54, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, but I like her designs! I thought she was more well known, and I thought I saw her name written more but it seems not and she is more well known in Jordan. I may have got her mixed up with Lebanese designer Sandra Mansour when looking at the attributions... although their designs look different to me, their names are very similar!
