[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Cornishcreamtea.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:54, 13 July 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. OsamaK 22:54, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed it, Hopefully :)

Thanks!

[edit]

Thanks for the barnstar! My advice to you would be never to go near WP:DYK, not at the moment or unless you're writing about stately homes or something :) Mind you- they probably couldn't object to a Cornish article.:) Sticky Parkin 14:57, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!

Tool type thingies

[edit]

Hi Tux, you asked about the tool thingies, these are not my area of expertise but I do know they would go in User:Tuxraider reloaded/monobook.js I think, and here are a couple Wikipedia:Twinkle and Wikipedia:Huggle so you could take a look. I couldn't get it to work lol but then I'm not the best at technology as you know. So take a look at those and if you want some other info about Twinkle, I suggest trying User talk:Unforgiven24. The tools are mainly for tagging articles and form filling suuch as making AfDs. But maybe there are ones of more interest to you. Sticky Parkin 20:42, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cream tea picture

The cream should go on top of the jam! DuncanHill (talk) 12:39, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely, we always had jam first (well, butter first, then jam, then cream) when I was a boy in Cornwall. DuncanHill (talk) 00:14, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Someone mentioned this and I wasn't sure, not being an expert.:) Could you have a look and see if you think Persistence (computer science) is the same subject as Object persistence? Sticky Parkin 21:46, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've a feeling this article is one you could improve if you were so inclined.:) Sticky Parkin 23:06, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

deletion process

[edit]

Hi Tux, you asked how to list an article at AfD. I strongly recommend you try reinstalling Twinkle as it makes it so much easier. Otherwise, you need to do all this Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion#How_to_list_pages_for_deletion which I find a complete pain, you might find it ok, even I get there in the end.:) Sticky Parkin 02:40, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

barnstar

[edit]
The Article Rescue Barnstar
For your addition of a pic to the Paul Conneally article, before which those in the AfD were veering towards delete, after which it quickly became a keep. Coincidence? :) Sticky Parkin 00:45, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:Cheesepudding.JPG

[edit]

File:Cheesepudding.JPG is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Cheesepudding.JPG. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Cheesepudding.JPG]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:02, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:10, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
