website evaluation?

[edit]

Titopao, asan na? 3 down 1 more to go na! where is your evaluation now?--Ate Pinay (talk•email) 10:51, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just some comments

[edit]

Good day sir! I just noticed a discrepancy in your userpage. Please take no offense (besides, I think you're used to peer editing, being a writer yourself).

In "Translated into English, it means Uncle Pao," the subject appears to be male. However, in "Grandson of a former college dean and mother of a former college professor, I have read my first book at the age of five years old," the subject appears to be a hermaphrodite (being both a grandson and a mother). I think it would be fit to change 'mother' to 'son.'

Thank you! Elenim 14:41, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Re: Question

[edit]

Hi, Tito Pao. Yeah, that was my essay. =) Thank you very much for the kind words! It's great to know that a fellow Pinoy wikipedian read it. How did you know that I would also be found on Wikipedia? Hehe, I was just a little surprised. And sure, go ahead, it would be my honor if you'd share it with others. Thanks again! -- Corsarius 13:00, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re Chiz' statements on ANC's 2007 Senatorial Forum

[edit]

This is not the exact but if memory serves me right, he said that Edsa Dos shouldn't have happened, it wasn't the right thing to do. The show is replayed M/W/F at 6pm so if anybody wants to catch it, last chance is on Friday. I can't since I have finals this week. Well, sino pa nga ba? ;) Shh...don't ever tell anyone what's his user name on WP (yet), I don't think he'll approve (mabuti nang sa kanya manggaling, right? =) That is, unless the other judges have their own WP accounts, too. (Buti nga, si MLQ ang judge, and not someone as vain as this one (alternate link)). Re report: I'll try to rush it this weekend since it's the last decent Sat-Sun weekly off that I've got. Sobrang nakakabwisit yung ginawa nila sa work hours namin...if you'd only know, you would have surely called up Nox and tell him to help me out (as in, you'll ask me to leave na.) --- Tito Pao 15:35, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
He is just waiting for you, you know. Ikaw naman ang a ayaw ayaw! LoL! Good for Manolo. I suggested pa naman to Chris that he will receive the award in his behalf. So, paano to? Coke

[edit]

Tinawagan ako ni Pinay. She suggested that you'd give out Coke to the Wikipedians at the Blog Awards? What do you think? I wasn't planning on doing anything, but Pinay loves the idea. hehe. --Chris S. 21:04, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tama Titopao. Will make arrangements with our mutual friend at Ayala . Pls let me know your availability, one coke in can lang naman per Filipino Wiki na dadalo sa awarding ni Chris. O, ano? feedback ka agad ha? so we can transfer funds sa Ayala. I coordinate mo na lng ha? --Ate Pinay (talk•email) 06:10, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, are you both serious? It'll be surely a big event. Just looking at the list of nominees make me blush...most of them are high-profile personalities in Pinoy blogosphere. And, btw, Ate P...an Ayala corporation is already one of the sponsors---that is, Globe Telecoms ;-) So does Matt Muellenweg's for-profit company...I can't remember how it happened, but somehow the organizers got to convince the father of Wordpress to sign up. Bigatin talaga! =) --- Tito Pao 06:28, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Titopao, nagbibiro ka ba? You know me! I do not wait for things to happen, I make things happen. So, pls contact our friend at Ayala, and make arrangement/s for him or you or ask User:Lenticel, too, to help you pass out the coke to each Filipino Wiki after the Awards night. Also make sure that if you are receiving the award in behalf of Chris S., sabihin mo na kaagad para ma inform ang committee by Chris S., tapos, find yourself a very good barong-tagalog to wear. Picture ha? With MLQ3! I am serious!!! --Ate Pinay (talk•email) 15:28, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ate P, this time I really can't make it. It's not easy for me to take my leave from my Saturday masses, and even if I do I don't have a replacement. Plus if I decide at the last minute to catch up, I'll be extremely late to the event, so I won't make it knowing the even will be in Makati. I'll try to see if I can make it there as soon as possible, but I can't promise that I'll make it. I hope you'd understand. --- Tito Pao 22:58, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Coke really isn't that important to me, but I can just give everyone cyber Coke via talk pages if really necessary. I don't want to burden you. ;-) However, what I am really concerned about is someone to represent me. One of the organizers e-mailed me this morning saying that I should get a representative since I won't be able to be there in Makati. If you want to be my stand-in, let me know. I do have family in the Philippines, but they're in their 70s, so I don't think they'd be willing to get up there (not to mention not having spoken to them in so long). --Chris S. 18:16, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Erik Santos Entry

[edit]

hello! it seems like you edited the last changes made in the "Erik Santos" entry. May I ask how to revive that editions. The changes were made due to the request of the ESFO (erik santos friends online) to update that entry. pls do something about this. thanks. god bless.

—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 58.69.14.17 (talk) 05:58, 31 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I'm not sure what edition you are talking about, but from what I can see, it looks like you've already made the change you (or the Erik Santos fansite) wanted, so I presume I won't need to ask which edition (or, to be more technically correct, revision) you are talking about. If that's not the case, could you please tell me more what is it? --- Tito Pao 07:18, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

the updated version. the one with subcategories, prince of pop, erik santos on stage, erik santos today, etc.

after i edited it, the day after tomorrow, it was changed back to what it looked like before i edited the whole entry.

tita bam, ESFO Admin told me that there were no changes so i was shocked because it returned to the previous entry.

can we get those posts back to the entry? thanks and god bless

-ESFO- —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.69.14.17 (talkcontribs)

Ah, okay, gets ko na. You must be referring to the edits with the subtitles "Prince of Pop", "More than a singer", "Erik Santos today" etc.?
I deleted those edits because they are too biased. The article, as it stood, looked like a press release, which is not considered encyclopedic. Wikipedia is not a fan site, a place to write personal essays, an advertising venue, a discussion forum or just about any place to write fancruft. For this reason, I reverted the article to the last-written version without those edits. I have no plans of allowing the edits to return, as well as the edits from similar articles about young Filipino pop singers.
Hope this clears matters up. --- Tito Pao 07:07, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ok, im sorry about that. the entries were just copied from the official site. i now understand. but what about those parts about - 1. the concerts he had done and who he had done it with 2. the shows he had appeared and worked for 3. and some other parts that were also deleted (these are all actually part of the entries you deleted (maybe you skipped on these and you havent read it yet.) can you please check it. thanks.

Done (or so I hope ;) Usually, placing a user warning should alert the other users of this template. If you decide to use these templates, do it one step at a time (i.e., begin with the level-1 warnings). Normally, I'd raise it to the next level IF #1 the anon vandalized the next day, or #2 if the anon commits the same vandalism a few minutes after you placed the warning (this is what happened to the recent Alan Peter Cayetano vandal...the anon was blocked w/in 30 mins. after I reported their IP address). Btw, reverting blatan vandalisms from anonymous IP addresses are exempt from the 3-revert rule, so feel free to do this yourself. If the vandals don't stop, we can have it reported to administrators. Titopao, some unnamed editor edited Among Ed's page. Technically, is that allowed? Can you revert it back to its earlier state, please. Thanks.

That is still allowed. If, however, one of those unnamed editors (or, more technically correct, anonymous IP editors) made a vandalism, you can simply revert it yourself. Just click on the "History" tab on top of each page, click on the date of the last good edit to view the page's version on that date, and then simply click on "Edit this page" and save that page to revert it yourself. I’m illuminated by your clarification. Thanks. As an obiter, let me underscore the fact that the song was the symbol of the crusade that incites Kapampangan to rise and fight the forces of evil politics. It created a bandwagon effect. It’s a badge of honor when you play it. It’s was the driving force of EDsa Pampanga.

Music is the most powerful medium the world has ever known. Nothing else can influence the way we feel, think, behave and live like music can. It is said that music helps change a government and win a crusade, a struggle or a cause. Notable music such as Jose Corazon de Jesus’s Bayan Ko, Woody Guthrie’s This Land Is Your Land, Bob Dylan’s Blowin’ In the Wind, Cat Steven’s Peace Train, John Lennon’s Imagige and even Nena’s 99 Luftbaloons, among others, have drawn forth protests and dissents from listeners

For sentimental reason, I and many crusaders would have loved to put Kapampangan Ku in here. Well, you have to be a Kapampangan to appreciate what I'm saying which comes from the marrow of my bone.

Here is a screencap of his email; for obvious reasons, I've obscured some sentitive information so that no one can spam my email address or Manolo's. And one more thing...your screen cap is too small I can't read the text to verify what it says. But I thought the author himself made himself clear about what the book said? Choir

[edit]

Hi thanks for your note, read my letter to you in my talk page. My brother Robert V. Floro had been member of the Meycauayan, Choir under Eman and Brenda Dazo, and do you know my brother Benny and Jesie Floro? I am very controversial in the whole Meycauayan, Florentino V. Floro, I predicted so many dire prophecies there, about 800, just sayin. I served as sacristan for Msgr. Sicat and Fr. Reyes. My brother Robert is die hard of music.

judgefloro@yahoo.com

My neighbor and teacher is Mrs. Baby Bordador, SMA teacher for decades, I feel Nostalgic. Your classmate Shrumster may perhaps read my prophecies in my blog and in Sun Star Forums national governance. By the way, I have 27 TV documentaries on YouTube, just type judge floro and you can see Robert there. God bless your family/you.

It is just that I am lazy reading these rules of Wike I just go on like in forums, coz, I just learned this computer staff forcibly when last year april 06, I was googled - type judge floro in google search engine.

Oh, I am still jobless and renting a house til now, and rely only on my brother's money. This is what I got from studying so much in the Ateneo, a school that I cursed last 2004. If the past only can be brought back, I will no longer study there. I would rather study in the most hated and most poor school in the Philippines, in fact I placed the bar by studying myself, not because of these professors of ateneo.

Hope you will find my writing not controversial, just sayin. And I do not sue or file case against anyone, except the CA Dirty Dozen just to clean the judiciary. It is a big case now pending. Thanks so much.

Cool, thanks for the update! Agreed with the admin's call. The guy seems generally all-round helpful in adding tidbit info on articles as long as he doesn't edit his own. :P Seems like a potentially good Wikipedian if he keeps both feet on the ground. Shrumster 16:05, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh man, I just finished cleaning up a little mess he left over at Baleen whale and moved it over to the appropriate article. He has another problem - copyright. Most of his added news is simply copy-and-pasted lines from the sources he quotes, with some words cut out. Checked three of his recent contribs na so far and I fear most if not all of them are mostly copyvios. Shrumster 17:20, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Fair enough, the Wiki admins here are really fair, just and objective; they weigh all evidences, no matter who you are or who we were, as we are all equals here. It is just that mystifying when I was sued by a co-meycauayaneno, co-atenean and co-st. mary's wikipedian. Prudence dictates that before a wiki sues or complains, he should carefully read first the contributions and the user history, before dwelling on technicalities. I cannot imagine why other wiki editors or admins here did not sue me. Just sayin and wondering. While you are not a lawyer, common sense dictates that motive and circumstantial evidence are very determinative of the case. Anyway, the case is closed and I want to contribute here to the best of my ability. Regards.

Hi Again

[edit]

I am really new here, and all that I have that others do not, is TIME, I have 12 hours daily to work on this. Before I waste my time on PinoyExchange and there is no sense there contributing since it is a mere message board. So, thanks for your suggestions, and I hope if you have time, PLEASE review my edits and do change them if they violate the rules, since I cannot as of this time COMPREHEND all the wiki rules. I am a judge, lawyer and have no knowledge on these technical things, anyway, you are my kababayan, musta na lang, God Bless. By the way are you now in WikiPilipinas, is it worth to contribute there, is it recognized by this Wikipedia? Just asking!

--Florentino floro 04:41, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reminder. But I do not see any value in joining the wikinews yet. It is just news, and it is better here, it is so neutral, we are all the same as you said, and no one can even alter or delete my edits unless violative of the rules. My favorites are jurists here and first news like thriller, etc. There is a gray area between what is an encyclopedia and news, for which reason, there are some members here who would decide to edit my copy paste contributions to many related articles as you read above, but I consider the suggestion good. So, I leave members here to delete or edit my work if they feel the same redundant or wiki news.

By the way you have not answered my question

is it worth wasting time to contribute to WikiPilipinas, it is so incomplete and maybe underman. Just asking your advice.

Hi titopao! Thanks alot for your answer. Ah quite interesting. Just wondering, would lahing Kayumanggi also include non-indigenous Filipinos such as ethnic Chinese? Because u said it is used to refer to all Filipinos as a class. Yea, perhaps lahing Malay is more suitable to equate with the Malay race. Btw, in Malay language, 'white' is 'putih', and 'black' is 'hitam'. So our language are quite similar :D kawaputratorque 09:21, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your clarification. Much appreciated. Yea! I've heard that cooking story once. But it was in the context of baking bread, i think. Too pale, too dark, and just nice. Hehe, maybe East Asians can be lumped into "too pale", and South Asians and Arabs into "too dark", so nobody are left out. :p Yea, like u said, it sounds un-PC by modern std. Might even sound like a Nazi propaganda to some ppl :O About similaryties in our language, i've seen quite a lot of similarities. like "baldi" (pail) is same for Bahasa Malaysia and Tagalog (if im not mistaken). But Bahasa Indo is different. And many more. We too borrow many words from Tamil, Hindi, Sanskrit (not too sure bout this), English, Dutch, Chinese, etc. Ya, might 1 day get in touch with Chris S when i have certain queries. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BritandBeyonce (talkcontribs) 06:38, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Hangad cdac.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Hangad cdac.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
