If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Happy Wheels requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. The article List of tallest buildings in Macon, Georgia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Indiscriminate list, see WP:LISTCRUFT

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Fickling & Company building, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. I can understand that your are disappointed. For notability of a building you have to look at the facts that makes a building special. A 70 meter building is not special, because there are so many buildings taller. So better then looking at height, you can look at history (listed buildings!), special events, people connected with the building (architects, financers, designers) etcetera. You can also look at this list for ideas: National Register of Historic Places listings in Bibb County, Georgia. Night of the Big Wind talk 20:30, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted pages, an explanation

[edit]

Hi! I noticed that you were continually adding pages that were getting nominated for deletion in one form or another. I just wanted to explain how the deletion process around here works and why the pages were getting nominated for deletion. To put it quite bluntly, they weren't meeting notability guidelines here on Wikipedia. (WP:GNG) To merit a page, you must have several reliable sources to prove notability. (WP:RS) They cannot be the company or building website and they cannot be trivial sources. (See WP:TRIVCOV) For example, the story of the black bear getting into the Fickling & Company Building would be considered a trivial source since it doesn't actually show how the building itself is notable. An example of a reliable source would be a published book that goes over the building's history or a news article that discussed the building. Promotional pieces or adverts do not count as reliable sources. To keep an article you will have to provide sources to prove its notability per Wikipedia standards.

Another thing to take into consideration is that notable in Macon does not translate into notability on Wikipedia. On one of the articles you tried to defend it by saying that it's nice to look at. That sort of falls under WP:ITEXISTS and isn't considered to be a good argument to keep an article. Just because something exists does not mean that it merits an article. Being a large building in Macon does not pass notability guidelines. Now if you could show that any of these buildings passed general notability guidelines, that'd be a different story. I hope I don't come across as too strict, but this is just the way the notability and deletion guidelines go around here. Re-adding things after they've been speedy deleted or deleted in a AfD discussion is not something I really recommend since it can be seen as disruptive editing and get you blocked. (Note, I'm just letting you know this since I've seen people blocked for less.) What you might want to do (if these pages get deleted) is to create them in a user page (WP:USERFY) and work on them until they meet notability guidelines. That way you can still work on your pages but not have them repeatedly deleted. Then when you think they're ready, you can submit them to articles for creation.

I just didn't know if you were aware of why all of this is going on. You seem to be pretty new to Wikipedia, so odds are that you just weren't aware of the guidelines for notability and such. I just wanted to give you a heads up about this stuff. Tokyogirl79 (talk) 04:58, 25 November 2011 (UTC)tokyogirl79[reply]

Ok, let's draw the line here

[edit]

A few things you need to know: 1. Do you think I care about Fickling & Company Building anymore? It is no longer my article. I just added the thing about the bear because I thought it was funny, not because I thought it would save the artle. 2. I Haven't re-created any articles, and have never had any intention of doing so. 3. You aren'y being strict, I am perfectly aware of Wikipedia's notability guidelines. 4. I am not new. I've been here since May, but started really editing in September... I think. Pfft... I'm smarter than you probably think. I know my way around here... you'll see... some day... YOU WILL SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol :P Theshywillraindeath (talk) 18:51, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Personal messages (from me)

[edit]

Ok, i'm starting to see a pattern here. If you go to just about any of the many pages I have created, (a good example is First Presbyterian Church (Macon, Georgia)) go to it's history (click the "veiw history" thing right next to the search box at the top of the page) and you will probably find one that says fixed a few things! :D lol! Don't take these deletions and mergers personally. Your work will remain, but probably end up being merged into List of tallest buildings in Macon, Georgia. Bearian (talk) 19:50, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for Georgia photos!

[edit]

The Crawford County Jail, for example. If you've got more of historic stuff, like on National Register of Historic Places listings in Crawford County, Georgia, adding them would be appreciated. Or of any others in the area. I've taken a lot around Florida, and a few in southern Georgia. It's nice to see someone getting shots around other parts of that lovely state. Cheers! :) --Ebyabe talk - Welfare State18:07, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, that's the first nice thing that anyone has said to me here since I came here! It's usually Speedy deletion nomination of: ... . Heh, I live right outside of "downtown" Knoxville, Georgia, which is right next to Roberta, Georgia,so I can take as many pictures as you want me to of WHAT ever you want me to! (I will also be going downtowm macon tomarow, so I will be taking pictures there, too...) Cheers to you to! Theshywillraindeath (talk) 00:42, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What did you think about the deletion notice you received?

[edit]

Hi Theshywillraindeath, You recently received a message about either "Nomination for deletion" or "Proposed deletion" of an article you created. I'd like to ask you a few quick questions:

  1. Was the message helpful? Were the instructions clear and easy to follow?
  2. If not, how do you think the message could be improved?
  3. What do you think about the deletion process in general? Do you understand how to contest a deletion?

You can feel free to answer on my talk page or send me your response by email (mpinchuk@wikimedia.org). (I won't quote you or link your answers to your username if you don't feel comfortable with that.) Your feedback is incredibly useful for improving the content of deletion notifications, so please take a minute to think about and answer these questions. Thank you! MEH?!

[edit]

Why can't you people just let me forget about all of these deletions and quit BADGERING MEEE!!! Yea, I said it. You bunch of badgers. I think I will just continue to add pictures of Macon and Knoxville...

[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Happy Wheels, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page MAC (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:50, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What? No I didn't. Oh, maybe when I put the link to "MAC macheine" it put the disambiguation page instead... I'll go fix that. Theshywillraindeath (talk) 11:56, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
