Good job with AmeriCleaningGreen.com and the AIV report. I should probably also point out to you that you don't need to tell someone that you are reporting them to AIV. You must notify them, however, by SPI, ANI, and UAA reports. Thank You! Electriccatfish2 (talk) 23:49, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Refractor card, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chrome (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 11:53, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks for reporting this editor to the Administrator intervention against vandalism noticeboard.

I declined to block him for now. His contributions to date have been junk but we normally give new editors a bit more in the way of warnings and guidance before we block them. He'd gotten some templates about article deletions but only one true warning, after which he's added nothing more. I'm not sure he had evil intentions -- maybe just a misunderstanding of what we accept and what we don't accept. I left him a note explaining this a bit more.

Thanks for flagging this problem. Hopefully we can bring him along and get him to make more useful contributions. Time will tell as to his motivations here.

Restoration of deleted Encyclopedic Entry for Eric Schlager

[edit]

Dear Sir/Madam:

I very much appreciate your diligence in protecting the Wikipedia community from copyright violations, vandalism, and other licentious acts. It is comforting to know that individuals like yourself seek to promote the highest standards of integrity and morality. As a relatively new member to our community, I would respectfully request your assistance in helping me to publish this article on Eric Schlager in a format that would be acceptable to you and in accordance with Wikipedia's legally enforceable doctrines. I would very much appreciate you sending me the information for the deleted page so that I may revise such data to be in accordance with stated policy and procedure.

To address some of your stated concerns: (i) Nearly all of the published article was fact-based and included no opinions. While you note that certain material was cited to the Urban Land Institute website, in fact, if you closely analyze the citations, you will see that most of this information was previously published as generally available biographical data on the Bulfinch Companies website. (ii) Mr. Eric Schlager meets the generally accepted qualifications of being a notable entity as a result of the size of his company, civic leadership positions, mentions in national publications, etc...

I am willing to work with you to ensure the completeness and professionalism of this encyclopedic entry. In the future, I will run all pages by you before publication so that we may be able to avoid any unnecessary hindrances to future publication.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Very Kind Regards.

Response to previous Conflict of Interest Post dated Aug. 3 on my Talk: You allege a conflict of interest. The person writing this page is neither Eric Schlager, a family member, friend, etc. This is an arms-length party writing an encyclopedic article about Eric Schlager. Please restore this page. Thank you for your concerns, but they are unfounded and not based in valid evidence — Preceding unsigned comment added by EDS250 (talkcontribs) 17:41, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

hi I have seen that you have tagged on "Insysd" Insysd is important because it is new generation entrepreneur company , normally all the company article display in wiki is are big and renowned companies, but no one is knowing that how the company suffer in the early stage of the company. as Insysd slowly making it self as a brand and a name but how this company moving form it's initial stage to second stage is very important. I have observed how this company struggled and trying hard to from the very beginning though this company having bunch of intelligent employees. so it is always good to see how a small company is growing and spreading in the market. IT's Strategic domain high performance consulting services is growing very fast and the brand is start holding its own space in this domain. So people are interested to know how this segment working and its style of work. Their success and failure. so i feel tag on Insysd should be removed. and allow to keep this article in wiki. thanks. About AIV

[edit]

Hey, Thebestofall, I declined your recent report to AIV, the one about the Hurricane sassy people. The guy you had reported had only made one edit, and hadn't been warned at all, so it's not really fair to block him. No worries, though! The page has been deleted and create-protected, so their shenanigans are stopped for that page at least. In the future, it might be better to report this kind of thing at Requests for page protection instead. For times like this when it's a bunch of people hitting only one page, it can be better to semi-protect the page so that they can't keep vandalizing it, rather than trying to go through and report/block each one. Anyways, thanks! Writ Keeper 04:24, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I dealt with a similar situation like this earlier where about 30 ips and 2-3 accounts created a nonsense article that was aimed at attacking an entity. I reported to checkuser/spi the main offenders and the result was where all who participated in the fiasco got blocked. here is the archive. Anyway, thank you for pointers on how to deal with these situations. I do at times get overwhelmed when a lot of ip's gang up and I see where you are going here. Reversion without discussion in the Karnataka article by user Pied hornbill

[edit]

Hello Sir, Hi from N.Srinivasan in India Srirangam99. First of all a beer from me to you because I thought it was very lonely for me, a relative newbie in Wikipedia. I am not at all perfect, I'm in fact quite clumsy, but I don't lose heart because with the books and material I have for adding to articles, I have been very honest and nothing else.

First of all, thank you for intervening in the Veera Ballala II article and stopping vandalism in that article. There is another problem. By the way that user has also created trouble in the Satyasraya article.

In the Karnataka article, I was startled (you too will find this in case you are familiar with the history of India and its various provinces) to find that since its initial stages, some prejudiced minds did not even consider inclusion of what I call 'irrefutable historical facts' those attested by historians about occupation of territories and areas in the central, southern and south eastern parts of what is the Indian state of (modern) Karnataka by the Cholas from the Tamil country. It is this fact that south and south eastern Karnataka was controlled by Cholas for around 200 years almostcontinuously, which I sought to include but user Pied hornbill has been reverting my contributions without any discussion. You can see his talk page as well as the Karnataka talk page where I have appealed to him not to revert contributions without discussion. Prior to that on the talk pages of the article and the user I have also quoted extracts from books supporting my contention, but the same are being ignored. Can you kindly help out?? Srirangam99 (talk) 16:19, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sir, thanks for the timely intervention. Initially I thought the user Pied hornbill was an admin and as you might have seen in the talk page of Karnataka I posted excerpts from a book having an ISBN in support of my additions to the article. The same were reported more than once by this user and my repeated messages to him for having a discussion rather than deleting my additions without a discussion proved futile.
BTW, three dynasties in South India as originated from the state of Tamil Nadu (for your info) have a very old history. Of these, the Chola Dynasty and the Pandyas have a history going back to the BC era. The Pandyas about whom limited material is available are supposed to be oldest dynasty with their history being pegged back to 500 BC. Both Cholas and the Pandyas find mention in the rock edicts of the great conqueror and later peaceful monarch Ashoka as independent kingdoms outside the boundaries of his vast kingdom. Without elaborating, let me conclude that you will find these portions of history very interesting, should you decide to dig into those pages. I hope now both Pied hornbill and the anonymous user 69.112.23.166 will cease their activities. Many thanks once again. Srirangam99 (talk) 04:09, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Sir, there is once again vandalism by user 69.112.23.166 in the Satyasraya article. He is reverting my edits without any discussion. This is for your information. Srirangam99 (talk) 14:41, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Sir, earlier there was vandalism in two articles viz. Veera Ballala II and Satyasraya which was set right because a user with just an I.P. address was interfering. Side by side as I pointed out to you earlier also, Karnataka was another article in which a user by the name Pied Hornbill was constantly reverting my edits. This article was semi-protected for a month. Now after the semi-protection date got over, the same user has again reverted my edits based on not one but two books. Can you pls. help?? Thanks in advance.Srirangam99 (talk) 10:47, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There is a place you can report users who edit war called WP:ANEW, where you can report Pied Hornbill. I tried reporting Pied Hornbill at WP:AIV and the administrators referred me to WP:ANEW. You might try reporting Pied there. Also, if you suspect user:Pied Hornbill to be a sockpuppet of 69.112.23.166 (which would be possible if Pied was editing while logged out), you can report it to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations. About yesterday

[edit]

Yesterday we had a row. One day after, I want to say this.

I was verbally rough, which was useful nor correct. Had I kept silent, it would be good all the same. The explanation for my writings I can mention is, that the speed of the actions (bot actions, speedy tag) caused unrest over here, right while I was cleaning things up. Actually I was writing an edit while the tag was placed (causing edit conflict). I can say that my edits were sincere, but that timings caused a problem.

I want to conclude that to me you are a serious editor and admin. Our row was a spike only. -DePiep (talk) 22:26, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. And no, no beer. Just remember the word "serious" I wrote. I could & shuld have added "sincere". -DePiep (talk) 23:26, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of 5 paragraph essay

[edit]

You updated the speedy deletion tag on 5 paragraph essay, changing the reason to: "Wikipedia is not a place for publication of original thought. As per WP:NOTESSAY". Please remember that the criteria for speedy deletion are fairly narrowly defined, and this rationale is not one of them. It is a reason to propose deletion, but no for speedy deletion. New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Thebestofall007,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
