Stamp Duty in India

[edit]

I have written a start up article on Stamp Duty in India, which could be added to the page on Stamp Duty. I have no idea how to do it, though. Can you help?

Oh yes I did. It was at the premier of the movie 'Flashbacks of a Fool' at Empire Theatre, Leicester Square, London, where she was giving autographs to her fans when I took this photo. This is free content that I am posting it on wikipedia. Tarun2k (talk) 14:07, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: rating articles

[edit]

Hi there.

Unfortunately, the WikiProject Law Assessment Dept. is undergoing construction, and this will not be complete until sometime in June 2008. I have kept a note of the articles you have mentioned and they will be among the first assessed when the dept. is open and ready.

To your question, an article may be rated by going to the article's talk page, and looking for a banner that states {{WikiProject Law|class=|importance=}}. If it is not there, then you should add that to the talk page and upon saving changes, it should look like this:

WikiProject iconLaw Unassessed
WikiProject iconThis article is within the scope of WikiProject Law, an attempt at providing a comprehensive, standardised, pan-jurisdictional and up-to-date resource for the legal field and the subjects encompassed by it.
???This article has not yet received a rating on Wikipedia's content assessment scale.
???This article has not yet received a rating on the project's importance scale.
You then fill it in with the appropriate class and importance. For example, if an article is a "Start" class article that is of mid importance to the overall project, then you edit the page and put "start" after "class=" and "mid" after "importance=" so that it says {{WikiProject Law|class=start|importance=low}}. Once you've saved changes, it should look like this:
WikiProject iconLaw Start‑class Mid‑importance
WikiProject iconThis article is within the scope of WikiProject Law, an attempt at providing a comprehensive, standardised, pan-jurisdictional and up-to-date resource for the legal field and the subjects encompassed by it.
StartThis article has been rated as Start-class on Wikipedia's content assessment scale.
MidThis article has been rated as Mid-importance on the project's importance scale.

You'd add your name to the 'new members' list (when it is available - after the dept. is fully constructed in June). After gathering sufficient experience, a more experienced member will move your name to the list of the assessment team. For now though, it is a matter of waiting. Re: Hi

[edit]

Hello and thank you for the welcome. I have a definite interest in some of the law articles, though more domestic USA jurisdictions and public international law. I know nothing about the law in India, but drop a line anytime if there's something you would like to discuss or a tidbit you think I may interested in. DOI bot back online

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your help munching through the DOI bot backlog! You'll be pleased to hear that I've fixed the bugs (I hope!) and the bot's now back up and running. If you do feel like helping with the backlog some more, it might be worth checking the contributions page to make sure the bot's not currently active. While working on two terminals at once oughtn't to do it any harm, it might confuse things a little, and generates unnecessary server load.

Thanks again,

hi

[edit]

Hello the SCICase template is modeled on the Infobox style in which many cases of US supreme court are presented in wiki articles, for usage of SCICase template in Indian cases you can look at M.C. Mehta v. Union of India (Oleum Gas Leak Case), Kesavananda Bharati v. The State of Kerala, hope it is useful, incidentally I interned at Law Commission of India, the place is not as organised as it looks from its website ;) LegalEagle (talk) 03:02, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Raj zutshi.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sdrtirs (talk) 01:03, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Hornbook -- a new WP:Law task force for the J.D. curriculum

[edit]

Hi Tarun2k,

I'm asking Wikipedians who are interested in United States legal articles to take a look at WP:Hornbook, the new "JD curriculum task force".

Our mission is to assimilate into Wikipedia all the insights of an American law school education, by reducing hornbooks to footnotes.

  • Over the course of a semester, each subpage will shift its focus to track the unfolding curriculum(s) for classes using that casebook around the country.
  • It will also feature an extensive, hyperlinked "index" or "outline" to that casebook, pointing to pages, headers, or {{anchors}} in Wikipedia (example).
  • Individual law schools can freely adapt our casebook outlines to the idiosyncratic curriculum devised by each individual professor.
  • I'm encouraging law students around the country to create local chapters of the club I'm starting at my own law school, "Student WP:Hornbook Editors". Using WP:Hornbook as our headquarters, we're hoping to create a study group so inclusive that nobody will dare not join.

What you can do now:

1. Add WP:Hornbook to your watchlist, {{User Hornbook}} to your userpage, and ~~~~ to Wikipedia:Hornbook/participants.
2. If you're a law student,
(You don't have to start the club, or even be involved in it; just help direct me to someone who might.)
3. Introduce yourself to me. Law editors on Wikipedia are a scarce commodity. Do knock on my talk page if there's an article you'd like help on.
