A welcome from Primate#101

Hi, Straightinfo, Welcome to Wikipedia!
Hello, bonjour, salut, privyet, konichiwa, shalom, hola, salve, [[wiktionary:salaam|sala'am], bonjourno, and hi! I'm Primate#101. I noticed that you were new and/or have yet to receive any messages so I just thought I'd pop in to say "hello". We're glad to have you in our community! I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it's so big but we won't bite so Be Bold and get what you know down in microchips! If you do make a mistake, that's fine, we'll assume good faith and just correct you: it'll take a few seconds maximum! I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful. If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you. Here are a few links to get you started:
And remember:
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.
    • P.S. I'm happy to help new users. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you need help with anything or simply wish to say hello. :)

Happy Wiki-ing!

Primate#101

Talk pages

[edit]

Please do not remove other users comments on talk pages. If qualifies as vandalism under WP:VAND --waffle iron 04:36, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove messages from your talk page. Talk pages exist as a record of communication, and in any case, comments are available through the page history. You're welcome to archive your talk page, but be sure to provide a link to any deleted comments. Thanks. --waffle iron 14:34, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not remove warnings from your talk page or replace them with offensive content. Blanking your talk page will not remove the warnings from the page history. If you continue to blank your talk page, you will lose your privilege of editing your talk page. Thanks.
Please read the policy on talk pages. --waffle iron 17:09, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit War

[edit]

Don't Worry, I'm working on it! I'll tell you, when I know, what the results are. Do not delete your account yet, unless you really are feeling depressed. --Primate#101 22:29, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've notified him again, told another admin, and I'm about to request unprotection.

Protected Page

[edit]

Pst, Got secret info.

It says very new members and anon. editors are blocked. Very new is considered 4 days. If you just wait it out, you'll be able to edit that page again. Nothing else is working.

--Primate#101 02:24, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi straightinfo; sorry i didn't get back to you earlier. I'm going to go ahead and unprotect the page now. you should make sure that you're aware of how 3RR works, and the difference between "vandalism" and a content dispute; 3RR does not take into account whose content is "right", but rather, that an editor has reverted more than 3 times in 24 hours- which you did. Usually this results in a block, but as you hadn't yet signed up for an account and were using a variety of ips, that wasn't feasible. So no hard feelings, i hope; this was done according to policy. Happy editing. --He:ah? 03:17, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. I at no time presented POV information on the page. The other editor Bkwillim feels any comment which presents any other position but Sanders own is automatically biased. I am trying to present both sides. I have tried to discuss this with him and have suggested a truce, he refuses. I am simply restoring what he simply removes.

I left a message on User:Bkwillim's Talk Page, explaining to him your edits weren't biased. Hope this helps!

3RR

[edit]

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. --waffle iron 16:45, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but you've already been warned about reverts and informed that there is a dfference between "vandalism" and a content dispute. You've (again) violated WP:3RR, and accordingly have been blocked for 24 hours. Please read WP:VAND, particularly the "what vandalism is not" section. --He:ah? 17:43, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Block length

[edit]

due to harrassment and block evasion your block has been extended to one week. --

He:ah? 23:10, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is not fair. I am so furious with Heah. Who does he think he is?? There is no 3RR, and never was. This guys has been an admin for about a week. Is there any appeal here??? Heah, when I get back on, or find a way, I am going to report you to the entire wiki system. You've got to go. ---Straightinfo

unblock request

[edit]

I've reviewed, see your contributions here you claims of having made only two edits are demonstrably false, I can see your reinserting of the same text claiming it to be reversion of vandalism at least 4 times. It is quite clearly a content dispute and you were in violation of WP:3RR and so the block was fully justified. I suggest you use your time out to remove your "fury", we don't work like that here, we attempt to maintain a civil manner of operation and resolve disputes via discussion not edit warring, or harrassing others. --pgk(talk) 13:01, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Meglomaniac admins

[edit]

I read your statement on Wikipedia:AMA Requests for Assistance page. I agree that some of the new admins are making Wikipedia problematic. I had a dust-up last night with a new admin. Some of these people seem more interested in flexing their blocking powers than following Wiki rules. I reverted a page that was vandalized but I was blocked without warning by an admin for doing so. Some of these admins seem very attracted to the little clique of petty power and Wikipedia seems to be suffering for it. If you look at their user contributions page, they only seem to be blocking people and not actually editing or contributing to articles. If anyone disagrees with them, they're rudely told their "uncivil" and then blocked.Jeff Fenstermacher 19:44, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
