Sheesh, Wikipedia has really begun to suck.

I think you can use https://youtube.com/watch?v=a5MJ1lcygC4&t=32 for this, then, since they have permission to host the content. More info here. Let me know if you need help turning that into a citation. Smallangryplanet (talk) 13:23, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Miguel Vera's name correction.

[edit]

Editing naming as indicated in the citation at findagrave.com. According to his tomb stone at Arlington Cemetery his name was Miguel Armando Rodriguez Vera, his father being of the last name Rodriguez, and his mother of the last name Vera. In Spanish culture the father's last name comes BEFORE the mother's last name and BOTH last names are officially used to distinguish individuals. Therefore, his name was Miguel Armando "Nando" Rodriguez-Vera. Please be sure to name him accordingly.

It is possible to add this photo of Obama with Miguel Armando Rodriguez Vera's nephew Joe Rodriguez to the page? Here's the link to that photo. Link: [1]https://picryl.com/media/president-barack-obama-presents-the-medal-of-honor-97386f Thank you. 169.252.4.21 (talk) 13:32, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you could use that but you would need to upload it to wikicommons - although it looks like we already have a couple of relevant images you could use - here's one from the same ceremony and here's one from a separate ceremony at the pentagon. Smallangryplanet (talk) 17:51, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The issue isn't the structure of his name, but that we generally don't allow Find A Grave as a source. Do you have any other sources for his full name? Smallangryplanet (talk) 17:53, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Recently you reverted edits from 2409:40F0:4101:FBDE:8000:0:0:0 on the page Kadhalikka Neramillai (2025 film). They have since made more edits. I've tried to fix them up myself but would appreciate it if a more experienced editor such as yourself reviewed them as well and decided if they should just be reverted. Thanks, Sushidude21! (talk) 11:37, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Sushidude21! - I think you made some good edits! Thanks for that. I added a Refimprove template and removed an unsourced box office comment. I'm mostly just patrolling recent changes so I have no subject area expertise, but at least superficially now the lead matches the body. Thanks again. Antisemitism in China

[edit]

Just to avoid any misunderstanding, my claims came from the Israeli ambassador here, and I've added it as an expansion of the original statement. Thanks. 60.240.26.249 (talk) 10:05, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@60.240.26.249 Is there any sourcing that is not from the Israeli ambassador and the US govt? Smallangryplanet (talk) 10:30, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The source is already included in the article. I'm happy to remove the VOA source if it's not reliable.--60.240.26.249 (talk) 11:07, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Palestinian war crimes

[edit]

Hi, this edit to Palestinian war crimes introduced several no-target reference errors. To fix them you need to copy over the relevant sources from the article or articles you have excerpted the text from. DuncanHill (talk) 11:32, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Argh! Sorry, I didn't have the no-target CSS enabled for some reason so I thought it was good to go. Thanks for flagging, will fix. @DuncanHill Smallangryplanet (talk) 12:45, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed! Thanks again @DuncanHill! Smallangryplanet (talk) 12:59, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, DuncanHill (talk) 13:00, 17 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've just reverted to a previous state in the article because it was not clear to me that all of the editor's claims of failed verification were correct. In the process I've reverted a couple of your changes which I apologise for. If those changes are still required please re-instate them. TarnishedPathtalk 15:17, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

No worries @TarnishedPath, thanks for letting me know! Will have a look. Smallangryplanet (talk) 08:57, 20 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

I don't like the idea of giving a templated barnstar or award or similar, but I did want to express my thanks for finding and improving sources for Potential American ownership of the Gaza Strip. And especially, for pinging me after you had done so giving me the opportunity to re-evaluate my !vote in the AfD discussion. It's a good example of how Wikipedia should work - collaboration and giving others the opportunity to change their mind to improve articles. If you prefer a pictoral award or barnstar of some kind, please accept whichever one you think fits best on my behalf. -bɜ:ʳkənhɪmez | me | talk to me! 23:01, 21 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Gaza Bombing

[edit]

Thanks for your input on the WWII comparison issue. Just wanted to share some thoughts for whatever they may be worth to you. If you don't reply, I shall not communicate with you again.

While I agree that the original "Surpassing" notion - first published in Foreign Affairs in June '24, has been repeated (verbatim) by other media, I am dubious that this should be viewed as "extensively covered," which suggests new reporting. Would also point out that your links to the comments of the UK Defense Minister, as well as a second link quoting the same comment, each make a point that specifically calls out casualties as the key consequence of the WWII bombings.

In answer to your question on option 2, I would suggest that as editors we have a responsibility to predict the reader's understanding of what we've written. To me, it is inarguable that a very natural and unremarkable understanding of the comparisons we make on tonnage and destruction will be to assume therefore that casualties were similarly higher. Thanks again. Johnadams11 (talk) 00:13, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
