The current set has too many film-related hooks. Can you replace just one? Thanks. --BorgQueen (talk) 23:28, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Nevermind, too late now. --BorgQueen (talk) 23:30, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

FYI re nobots

This will not be effective, nobots needs to be hardcoded directly onto the desired page, a transclusion won't be effective. –xenotalk 14:37, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

Oh ok. Thanks for letting me know. Shubinator (talk) 01:21, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

DYK length fix

Hi, I've broken up my hook for Johann Ernst of Saxe-Weimar (composer) into two for you or other people to choose from. I was really cheating by trying to squeeze two facts into one. The choices are btoh well within length now. See Template_talk:Did_you_know#Johann_Ernst_of_Saxe-Weimar_.28composer.29--Peter cohen (talk) 10:53, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Looks good, I've verified it. Thanks! Shubinator (talk) 04:18, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

2009 Thekkady boat disaster

Hi, re. 2009 Thekkady boat disaster and this edit- I actually did "substantially expand" that article; although it's true another user created it (which I helped them with), I did expand it - for example, almost all edits on 4th and 5th are by me, when it went from approx. 4000 to approx. 15000 bytes (and I made lots of other edits on the other days); I wrote the vast bulk of it. Not sure how that works though, and I'm not too bothered. Is their a 'co-creator' or something?  Chzz  ►  04:17, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

I was going off of the queue, where you were listed as nominator. Feel free to change it back if you're a significant contributor. Shubinator (talk) 05:20, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Re:Images

Okay, you can delete them all. I can't be bothered tracking down their exact sources. --Amazonien (talk) 07:26, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

DYK check

Hello, I was hoping to take a moment of your time to ask if maybe you know what I'm doing incorrectly. I have added an import to my monobook as you have suggested on the DYK check user tools page and still it will not bring up the DYK check link in the tool box. I have cleared the coache and attempted to bypass it. it is located here. Am I doing something wrong. Any words of wisdom is helpful. Sorry but I have very little knowledge of monoscript, if this is what it is. Thanks B.s.n. R.N.contribs 07:59, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Your monobook looks fine. The script link only shows up in user and article namespace. Does it appear when you click on Random article? If not, what browser are you using? Shubinator (talk) 05:28, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
It started working, but only with my preferences changed from modern skin to monoscript skin. hmmm. Suppose I will just have to change skins when helping with DYK. Thanks again for helping me and for designing these tools. Cheers B.s.n. R.N.contribs 07:56, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
Oh, you're using a different skin! Does HotCat show up? Shubinator (talk) 05:51, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
Yeah. Was using the Modern skin in preferences and Hot Cats seemed to be the only one that worked (had issues with friendly). IDK maybe because Hot Cats is a much simplier program than yours. Maybe when some time comes around I read up a little on this computer language or such. Also, I did try both IE7 and Mozilla Fire Fox browser with the different skin (other than monoscript) and both weren't compatible. Odd because I wouldn't think a skin would cause this. B.s.n. R.N.contribs 06:08, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
HotCat is making similar adjustments for the skin that DYKcheck does. Skins change a lot, actually. I'll try to look into it this weekend or next week. Thanks for the bug report! Shubinator (talk) 06:20, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
and thank you :) B.s.n. R.N.contribs 06:53, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
I found the fix, and it's pretty easy (although I'm still not sure why Hotcat works). Each skin has its own Javascript page. For modern it's Special:MyPage/modern.js. So if you add DYKcheck there, the script should work. You can also add the line
importScript('User:B.s.n.R.N./monobook.js');
to the modern.js page so all of the scripts in your monobook will appear when you're in the modern skin. Shubinator (talk) 01:52, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
Wow, It was pretty easy...well, since you found the solution, directed me on exactly how to do it, and gave me the link :). I want to thank you for helping me with this. It really is appreciated.
No problem :) Shubinator (talk) 03:44, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Ping

Hey Shubinator, there seems to be a DYK bot issue, see User talk:Rjanag#DYKBot update cycle problems. You're the only person I can think of who might know what's going on, since nixeagle seems to be MIA. Thanks, rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 14:53, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Replied there. Oh Nixeagle, where art thou ... Shubinator (talk) 06:18, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

DYKcheck browser compatibility

I installed DYKcheck yesterday and I've been testing it quite a bit. Just wanted to let you know, it appears to work flawlessly in Konqueror, both versions 3.5.10 and 4.2.2. Thanks for a really useful tool. Ntsimp (talk) 13:31, 21 October 2009 (UTC)

Excellent, thanks for letting me know! Shubinator (talk) 05:41, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Happy Halloween!

As Halloween is my favorite holiday, I just wanted to wish those Wikipedians who have been nice enough to give me a barnstar or smile at me, supportive enough to agree with me, etc., a Happy Halloween! Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 18:38, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
