Edit summaries
[edit]Hi Bearcat! I must ask you again to fill in the edit summary regularly. Thanks a lot. Daniel Šebesta (talk • contribs) 23:34, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- Everybody forgets sometimes; I take significant exception to being singled out for two notices from you in two days, as if I were somehow worse at it than anybody else on here. Bearcat 23:38, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
I checked your last 50 edits and saw the vast majority of them without summaries. Therefore, I assumed you might have missed my previous message. Daniel Šebesta (talk • contribs) 23:50, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
Daniel, thank you for the explanation of edit summaries. As I recall, they are not a hard and fast rule, but rather a suggested guideline--one that, if it were followed religiously, would triple the amount of energy it is taking me to perform a simple cleanup task of clearing out a category. If you feel that you must check each of my edits for subtle vandalism, you are more than welcome to do so. Danny 10:36, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
Danny
[edit]Hi there! I noticed the interaction between you and User:Danny. Just to give you a bit of perspective, Danny is none other than Danny Wool, of the Wikimedia Foundation, that wonderful organization that runs things around here! I'm sure he appreciates the constructive criticism--as do all our editors, and the fact that he's an employee of Wikimedia, of course, doesn't make him more or less important then you or I. Bearing these facts in mind, however, you may wish to go a bit easy on him.
Thanks! Bastiq▼e demandez 12:12, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Bastique! Thanks for the message. Yes, I have read who Danny is. However, I can't see one single reason why that fact should prevent me from pointing out edit summaries to him. IMHO, experienced and long-term contributors should be the model to other users, i.e., they should primarily adhere to useful guidelines of Wikipedia. I checked the list of his last few hundreds contributions, and I considered it necessary to let him know. Daniel Šebesta (talk • contribs) 13:20, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
Lower Sorbian Wikipedia request
[edit]Hi, I've made a request for a Lower Sorbian Wikipedia at m:Requests for new languages#Lower Sorbian Wikipedia if you would like to stop by and vote. Angr 16:35, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Angr! Thanks for letting me know. I've added my vote. As there is the Upper Sorbian Wikipedia by now, a LS Wikipedia should be established too. Daniel Šebesta (talk • contribs) 23:27, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
Please support complement EU !!!
[edit]Hi,as a EU supporter maybe you´d like to support this: I´m trying to implement the 'EU' in the city-templates of European city articles. The EU should be mentioned next to the country; like country : Spain / EU Please support the enhancement in these templates and argue for the innovation if you want to. Would be great.

- Hi! Thanks for letting me know. However, you might have noticed that I was strongly against your related edits in the Berlin article. As I haven't changed my mind in regard to this matter, I won't support this "inovation." Daniel Šebesta (talk • contribs) 23:31, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
I knew your stance on it. But what is it you support on the EU-issue then? There are so many arguments for an enhancement and a growing society who is identifiyng with the EU... that has to be expressed not stopped. its never to late to change mind...all the best Lear 21 23:57, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- I support the EU as an international institution, an institution of international cooperation, not as an instance with country status. By the same token, I support the UN, which is no country either. I might change my mind later, but today I can't consider the EU a country. Daniel Šebesta (talk • contribs) 00:48, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Now I understand. Comparing UN and EU is surely far from all the arguments I had and the CIA. You need about 25 years to get there ... Nevermind. all the best Lear 21 01:39, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Hallo Sebesta.
--Smeira 10:12, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject
[edit]Hello Daniel. Would you be interested in supporting/participating in the WikiProject Czech Republic? I think it is much needed. You can vote or comment here: [1]. Have a nice day. :) - Darwinek 10:32, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Michal Ajvaz, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Oo7565 19:13, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- I have expanded the article and removed the deletion tag, as I cannot see any criteria for deletion. Michal Ajvaz has published a number of books and is one of the best known contemporary Czech writers. There's hardly a bookstore that wouldn't have his novels. Considering him non-notable is ridiculous. Daniel Šebesta (talk • contribs) 22:51, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Czech -> English
[edit]Hi. My name is Eysteinn and I come from Iceland. I'm a huge fan of the movie Hostel. The problem is, they use a lot of different language and don't translate any of it. Since you are from Czech republic, I thought I might ask if you can translate any of the following audio files that I have created. I made my best guess acording to the plot on what language it is. If you could fill in the gaps that you can, that would be greatly appreceated. I will then post it on the wikiquote for the film so that others may enjoy your hard work. I see you are a busy contributer, so don't feel bad for telling me that you simply don't have the time to translate this. But if you do I recomend that you turn your speaker up. Preferebly have a pair of headsets.

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Sebesta! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 139 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

You are now a Reviewer
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:32, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
Czech help needed
[edit]Hello Sebesta, I'm contacting you because we need some Czech translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on cs.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Czech Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 23:52, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Help request
[edit]Hello Sebesta, I would like to ask for your help on an article pertaining to the czech language. The article Jan Hus has a small section on how Hus expanded the Czech language; however, I know nothing about Czech, and that entire section was written by another editor. If you would be able to add a few sources, rewrite the section, and better explain the changes Hus made, that would be much appreciated. If you are busy, would you be willing to point me in the right direction for someone who would be able to help me?
Thanks!

Waltz's Slovenian ethnicity
[edit]Hello Prunk, I was thinking maybe you could give me your opinion on this http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Talk:Christoph_Waltz#Slovenian_heritage I've proven that Christoph Waltz has Slovenian roots and is related to Josipina Turnograjska, but some editors are trying to deny this and I do not understand why. I'm trying to assume good faith, but the this whole thing really puzzles me. Anyway, I hope that by reading the talk through you will be able to put things in order. Thanks.
