wikEd
Hi, I have seen that you were interested in the Cacycle editor extension. This program is no longer actively maintained in favor of its much more powerful successor wikEd.
wikEd has all the functionality of the old editor plus:• syntax highlighting • nifty image buttons • morefixing buttons • paste formatted text from Word or web pages• convert the formatted text into wikicode • adjustthe font size • and much, much more.
Switching to wikEd is easy, check the detailed installation description on its project homepage.

Could you please take another look at the Eric Schoenberg article? The records that he released make him notable, even if his guitar store by itself isn't enough to prove notability. See also the recent discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Eric Schoenberg. --TruthbringerToronto (Talk | contribs) 01:59, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- You probably should have said, "Procedural nomination -- improper speedy request for notability." Robert A.West (Talk) 02:04, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Hi! Just wanna let you know that the article entry page for the article's AfD is redlink. ~ Feureau 03:43, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, User:Amarkov fixed it. —Quarl (talk) 2006-11-14 04:20Z
iShares
Thanks, Quarl - redirecting all the fund articles to the IShares article is probably the right thing to do, better than deleting them entirely. --Brianyoumans 13:13, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
There are some fake votes polled at http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Ihsan_Khan .I would be extremely thankful to your highness, if you could help me in voting on this article as Strong Delete or Speedy Delete. Please...... Begu Khel 21:54, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Apparently, the above person himself is a sock puppet. So before you take any action, look into the genuineness of this person and his own motives for voting on the above AFD page.--Mina Khel 22:17, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Yesterday i begun an article on the Dawn of War clan HLD
It was deleted within an hour of creating and given no chance for contributions from the DoW community.
DoW is played at a professional level, with this years championships being played at Monza in Italy. Prizes to the top 3 players in the world were cash to value of over US$40,000, played between internationals best from Korea, Brazil and Germany. http://www.worldcybergames.com/5th/fun/news/news_view.asp?keyno=N06102210000
This year the Australian games community did not attempt to field a team from its own community due to the belief that there would be no support for it. This is not the case. There is a strong australian DoW community with some of the worlds best players, however there was not enough publicity to promote this fact.
Even a games console that had been out less than a month from when the australian/asia pacific regional championships were held, namely microsofts XBox 360, had competitors fielded from australia, simply because of the amount of hype a company like microsoft can create.
With this article i am attempting to help promote the DoW and specifically the Australian DoW community, in the hope that next years WCG we can have our own team.
I sincerely ask that you reconsider your choice to delete this page and allow it a chance to recive contributions from the rest of the community. I had made a small start to a page that requires much more input, please allow it a chance.

- Thank you for writing me. I have undeleted the article HLD clan and started a debate at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/HLD clan. —Quarl (talk) 2006-11-14 04:16Z

Thanks for your input on my (nearly recent) Request for adminship, which regretfully achived no consensus, with votes of 68/28/2. I am grateful for the input received, both positive and in opposition, and I'd like to thank you for your participation. | |

I was wonderng wether you would still like to support me for a (second) RfA. I have been very busy for some time with uni, but it is now finished for the year so I will now have some time to devote to wiki. It has been about 2000 edits and multiple months since the last one. Thanks, ViridaeTalk 00:51, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Woops, it looks like I've been inadvertently wheel warring with you re: Only2. What did you want to do with this article? From a Google search, it looks like they may not even exist yet. If they do, they're certainly not notable. —Wknight94 (talk) 04:17, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- It's okay. I thought your deletion was accidental or I wouldn't have undeleted without asking. Usually when a subject is not yet notable and there is a suitable redirect target, I redirect in lieu of deletion. This avoids resentment, avoids recreation, avoids requiring administrator involvement and red tape (AFD, DRV, etc), is undoable, and allows non-adminstrators to view previous versions. In this case, if the subject doesn't even show up in a Google search, then deletion is appropriate. Thanks. —Quarl (talk) 2006-11-25 07:11Z
I've reverted your addition to the policy that appeared to have no discussion on the talk page. If there is a discussion somewhere that relates to this, please provide a link. CovenantD 07:34, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. I will discuss on Wikipedia talk:Deletion policy. —Quarl (talk) 2006-11-27 07:55Z

Edit summaries
What's with edit summaries like this one? That's less than useful, it's misleading. I expected to only see some quotation marks or something. BigNate37(T) 07:52, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry, that's due to unintended wiki rendering of the edit summary. It makes sense if you view the edit summary without wiki markup:
+"[[Wikipedia:Courtesy blanking|", +"]]"
. —Quarl (talk) 2006-11-27 07:59Z- Ah, I didn't notice it was a link. Yeah, makes sense. What are you editing with, anyways, that seems to be generating all your edit summaries? BigNate37(T) 08:14, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
- http://www.cubewano.org/wpt/scripts/autosummary.js . It's an application of the diff algorithm plus a few wiki specializations. —Quarl (talk) 2006-11-27 10:04Z

Reconsider speedy deletion of SleepResearch_Facility
I see you are the admin who deleted the article on SleepResearch_Facility (SR_F). I wish to contest this speedy deletion. It was deleted due to CSD A7 (not notable). Here is my evidence for the notability of the artist, using two criteria.
"Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable)."
SR_F has released two albums on Manifold Records, and one album on Cold Spring Records.
Cold Spring is an independent label with a history of more than a few years (began in 1990 [1]) with a roster of performers (45 artists [2]), many of which are notable. Cold Spring artists with Wikipedia entries, in rough order of notability: Psychic TV, Genesis P-Orridge, Merzbow, Z'EV, Sol Invictus, Laibach, Masonna, C.C.C.C., Werkraum, Shinjuku Thief, The Grey Wolves, Von Thronstahl, A Challenge of Honour, Zos Kia, Kreuzweg Ost, Crash Worship, Sutcliffe Jugend.
Manifold Records is an independent label with a history of more than a few years (began in 1993 [3]) with a roster of performers (31 artists [4]), many of which are notable. Manifold Records artists with Wikipedia entries, in rough order of notability: Steve Roach (Manifold release [5]), Maeror Tri, Robert Rich, DJ Spooky, Maurizio Bianchi, Arto Lindsay, Aube, Paul Schütze, Lull, Rapoon, Final, Alan Licht, Beequeen.
"Has been featured in multiple non-trivial published works in reliable and reputable media (excludes things like school newspapers (although university newspapers are usually fine), personal blogs, etc.)."
Steve Roach, one of the biggest names in ambient music, has written a very positive review [6] of SR_F's albums Dead Weather Machine and Dead Weather Machine_Re:Heat on his official website [7], and even sold the album from his mail order online store [8] while stocks lasted.
Between 1997 and 2003, AmbiEntrance (at Internet Archive [9]) was one of the definitive websites for ambient, electronic and experimental music. It individually reviewed approximately 900 albums, and interviewed over 50 artists, including big names such as Steve Roach, Terre Thaemlitz, In The Nursery, Richard Bone, Taylor Deupree, Robert Rich, Muslimgauze, Paul Haslinger and Lustmord. It reviewed SR_F's album Nostromo, and gave it a high rating (8.9 out of 10) [10].
SR_F's work has also been broadcast on Dutch Radio 4FM, very positively reviewed [11] [12] at Aural Pressure, and is sold [13] [14] at the famous Hypnos Online Store.
I consider that to be sufficient evidence for SR_F to be "notable"! -- Slowspace 18:28, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Withdrawing AfDs
Could you please take a look at the following two nominations?
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/2006 November 26#Club (magazine)
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/2006 November 26#Men Only
I made the nominations and am withdrawing them in favor of a different approach to get these articles improved; I'd appreciate if the AfDs could be closed and the outcome noted as Withdrawn.
I am also awaiting responses of one of the two editors who made Delete recommendations for Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/2006 November 26#Club International to my request to withdraw their recommendations. (One editor has already done so.) That being the case, could you also monitor that article for a bit to see if the editor agrees to the withdrawal and if so, close that AfD as well?
