Account Serious Issue

[edit]

I am logged in but I have forgot my pass.

Hi PawanAhuja. Since you are logged in, go immediately to your preferences and set up an email address. If you do this while still logged in then you can then use the "forgot password" option when you are trying to log in again and don't know it, which will provide an option to set a new password, through your email. If you do not do this successfully before you are logged out, you will never be able to retrieve this account.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 13:31, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Fuhghettaboutit Setting up email asks for current password. That's the problem. Please help PawanAhuja (talk) 13:37, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, in that case I don't think there is anything you can do (other thank think really hard about what you chose when you signed up – it wasn't very long ago). I'll place back the adminhelp template so that others can chime in, but you might be better converting this back to the helpme template you originally placed, as it is likely to reach more people, and there are no administrative tools that can help here--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 14:11, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I had kept Wikipedia password a bit different. Unfortunately We have limited attempts to guess password. PawanAhuja (talk) 14:41, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately the Wikimedia software that powers Wikipedia does not allow for any other method of password retrival other than through the "Forgot password" link; if you did not set up an email address when you created your account, you will not be able to retrieve your password. My advice would be to create a new account from scratch, as this is the only way you will be able to continue account-based editing. You may make a request to usurp this username with your new account. Yunshui  08:15, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Delete

[edit]

Deleting my attempt at consultation about a template you just pasted without any explanation isn't the right way of editing Wikipedia. I see your new, and thus I don't blame you for any mistakes, but please just don't paste any templates without any research. Thanks Coldbolt (talk) 18:06, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Coldbolt, the page's content seems as COI, I have tagged so that it can be written in a better way. By the way, we are allowed to remove anything we want from our talk pages. PawanAhuja (talk) 18:10, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I know you're allowed to delete anything you want, but I thought you wanted to avoid any consultation. Maybe it seems COI but from the soucres you can make up I am not related to Enzo Knol in any way. There are other templates for 'bad language' although I admit that my English isn't my strongest language, there is not much to improve. Thanks Coldbolt (talk) 18:15, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That's what I meant to say. I know the subject is notable but may be a COI. Thanks PawanAhuja (talk) 18:17, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Can I get my edit records and good will on my new account? Thanks PawanAhuja (talk) 18:23, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Page Copyvio

[edit]

Hello - I just started a page (Jeannette_DePalma) and you flagged it as potentially being copyright infringement. I'd like to know what you are basing that assumption on, as I can assure you that all the text was created by myself and I am the owner of all copyrights. ThePoorMansOpera ThePoorMansOpera (talk) 18:49, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your writing style over here and on article are different. I would recommend you to use WP:AFC in future. PawanAhuja (talk) 19:02, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the advice, I will look into that. ThePoorMansOpera (talk) 19:08, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you want to delete my page? It has factual information about a professional lacrosse player that previously had no Wikipedia page....? All of my sources are referenced as well...?

BLP aren't written on facts. They need valid soures to validate notability as well. Read WP:N PawanAhuja (talk) 09:16, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

They are valid sources.... I used the Army player bio as well as MLL's website for my information... so please clarify where I used an invalid source...? Please see our reference page at the bottom of the page.

Why on earth would you want to speedy that??♦ Dr. Blofeld 22:28, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The article has been improved due to tag. Thanks PawanAhuja (talk) 07:45, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Prototype67

[edit]

What's wrong with my article about the filmmaker Romed Wyder? In fact I wanted to translate the French existing page into English and than decided to do it "better" by including the latest information... And sorry if I have to ask this: Who are you exactly? Are you hired by Wikipedia? It's my first article and I dont know much about the way this works... Thanks for any help!

Prototype67 (talk) 09:10, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Prototype67:, Wikipedia article aren't made to stuff info. You need to have citations to validate your points. Moreover there aren't any significant coverage in secondary sources. I am a patroller on English Wiki FYI. Thanks PawanAhuja (talk) 09:15, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Liviu Guta article deletion

[edit]

Hi there,

I saw you tagged the article for deletion and someone already deleted it. But I did not get any reasons for doing that exepct the copy right notice. I took care of it and I put in the article {{OTRS pending}} tag as I've read on some help page of Wikipedia.

I am waiting further instructions on how to proper add my article. Thank you.

You are advises to use AFC instead and create a draft which will avoid deletions and loss of your efforts. Once ready the article will be tested so as whether it can be included in article namespace or not. Thanks PawanAhuja (talk) 10:49, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Parkbench Deletion Request

[edit]

Parkbench is a growing company that is becoming international in nature, and is a widely used Neighbourhood Resource all across Canada. People come to our site every month looking for information about a particular area that they currently live in or are looking to move to. As such, I believe that Parkbench deserves a page on Wikipedia.

I tried to write this page in a non-commercial format. Please tell me what offends you so much about the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Parkbenchjordan (talkcontribs) 14:12, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Parkbenchjordan, Wikipedia is not a business directory. Only subject have significant coverage in independent media gets an entry. Read WP:CORP for companies.

Moreover it seems you work for the company. Thanks PawanAhuja (talk) 14:20, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ziki Shaked

[edit]

You speedy tagged Ziki Shaked as no indication of importance. I removed the tag. It is referenced and the author says he can find more. There is also a claim of notability because it is the first circumnavigation under the Israeli flag. I am not saying the article would survive AfD, but it seems that a speedy tag is not the best option. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 17:50, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Anna Frodesiak I am fine with it. Although I think that these changes should be made in draft phase. These editors roll out articles to mainspace directly and according to me there is no significant coverage as of now. And as it's a blp we should go for deletion. Maybe this article gives rise to many sources!! BLPs on Wikipedia are a serious issue. You are an old editor so I might go by your directions. Thanks for your guidance anyway. Cheers. PawanAhuja (talk) 17:54, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't worry about BLP issues there. There is at least one source, which is required. The sources are Hebrew, so I do not know if every claim about the person is supported. But, there are no negative claims about the subject. In fact, the article is mostly about his voyage.
As for speedy tagging well, instead, talking to the author about moving it to draft space is an option, I suppose. But, once in the mainspace, there are alternatives to speedy tagging 7 minutes after creation. You could:
  • Wait and watch it develop.
  • Talk to the author about more sources.
  • Source it yourself.
  • PROD it.
  • Nominate it for deletion.
Generally, if an article has a few sources, is not an advert, makes a claim of notability, and is only 7 minutes old, it is best to not speedy tag it. Not only could that result in a lost article, but also a potential editor worth thousands of edits could feel bitten and leave. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 18:05, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I think that would be a better option to move to draft space and let the author list all the sources. Thanks PawanAhuja (talk) 18:07, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not take that option. In fact, I think you should not be doing any work here related to deciding the fate of articles until you have gained more experience. Also, I would like it if you would wait to see some of your AfD outcomes before nominating more. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 19:13, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your speedy tagging

[edit]

You speedy tagged Rodion Mykhailovych Luka. Just the article contents shows that A7 doesn't apply. Also, if you had googled him, you'd have found that Rodion Luka already exists.

I see plenty of speedy tagging that is inappropriate. Maybe half.

I suggest that you gain more experience before resuming.

How about another area to work in? You might be interested in starting one of these articles:

More feedback

[edit]

Three words: Google, google, google.

This absolutely stunk of copyright infringement. And it is copy pasted. When you see something written like that, all added at once, it should ring alarm bells.

A good Wikipedian constantly drops chunks of text into search engines to see what comes up. You can also use this for text and this for images. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 18:21, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Anna Frodesiak: I apologize for wrong speedy tagging in this. Sometimes the content of the article forces us to think in a way which may be not related with the matter but I can assure you that more than 90% of my tags are correct and they have been deleted or rectified by the community. Speedy deletion tags often brings in significant edits to the article eliminating all possible conflicts. Thanks for understanding. I will try to learn more because learning is an infinite process. I believe that the amount of junk created needs to be cleaned so I am trying out to lend a helping hand to the community. Cheers :) PawanAhuja (talk) 18:25, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
90% correct? Hmmmmmm. If you wish to speedy tag, the percentage of inappropriate tags must be very, very small. Losing articles is one thing, but losing editors is what really concerns me.
I know you are trying to help, and lots of what you have tagged is unfit for the mainspace, but you are adding plenty of inappropriate speedy tags. Plus, you are not googling to check. You absolutely must check, even if the subject is some dot.com or yet another rapper. You are not just looking for copyvios, you are looking for an unexpected list of google hits showing lots of news stories. You will be surprised. But, you must check to find out. Helping Wikipedia

[edit]

So, you're spending your time helping, right? Well, you are wasting a ton of others' time. While we're chasing you around and undoing your damage like nominating Gymnastics at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games – Women's vault for deletion, there are thousands of really nasty edtiors adding promo content for money, socking, vandalising, etc. By your "helpful" actions, you are allowing lots of that to go unchecked. If you really want to help, then STOP. Do you have any logical response to that? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 21:02, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
