Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).
A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
- Adding
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Adding
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Bbb23 (talk) 23:37, 19 October 2012 (UTC)![](http://up.wiki.x.io/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/0c/Appointment_red.svg/48px-Appointment_red.svg.png)

Is there a particular reason you want this account unblocked, rather than to just start a new one yourself? You only have one edit on record, so it isn't as though you have a long history here to keep. It's no big deal if you do want to keep this account and change it, but you're free to start a new one and that might be easier for you. - Vianello (Talk) 17:03, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

[edit]I really don't understand why my user name was blocked. It's my first edit, and I answered a comment in the editor-only section that seemed really fatuous given the information at hand. I genuinely felt that I was correcting something that was misleading and vague, and I was explaining myself -- in a humorous and jovial manner.
I would open a new account, but apparently I'm blocked from that too.
Please help. I didn't mean to tread on anyone's toes, plus this was my first time, and I've seen leniency to others. A warning would have been sufficient. If my name is not acceptable, how come I was allowed to create it in the first place?
I am not a developer, and try as I do to conform to all the many, many, many rules and guidelines, I can't. I don't even know if I'm doing this edit correctly, or if you'll see it. I hope you do. PLease -- either change my name as I requested according to the Blocked guidelines, or allow me to create a new account from my IP address.
Many thanks.

- On the internet, a Troll is someone who comes along and does exactly what you did with your very first edit, and the word "troll" is not usually accepted in a username. We don't include technical limitations like that because common sense usually rules - we deal with the issues afterwards, not before. Wikipedia does not accept original research". Because you are a "fan", and "it makes sense" does not cut it on Wikipedia. So, to say so in the actual coding on a live article was, indeed, trolling and could be considered disruptive. Before being unblocked, the project needs to ensure this is not going to be a continued behaviour (✉→BWilkins←✎) 12:35, 26 October 2012 (UTC)
