HI

[edit]

Your article took my interest. On the front page under DYK will be ... Did You Know ...that Jonathan Richardson (pictured) wrote "the first significant work of artistic theory in English"?

OK Victuallers (talk) 21:15, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for good words and for the work at that article! --Ozolina (talk) 19:35, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ozolina. Could your add your sources, please? I would like to do it by myself, but I can't find anything, using Google and Google Books search. Thank you. --Vejvančický (talk) 11:23, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've taken info from article House of Bondić and made a separate article because the painter deserves it. --Ozolina (talk) 11:30, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that she deserves an article, but we have to use sources independent on Wikipedia, Ozolina. --Vejvančický (talk) 11:42, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
She already had info about in WIki, I did only a technical job to make a separate article. Sorry, but I also can't find any additional info. PLease delete the article if necessary. --Ozolina (talk) 11:46, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've changed the template to {{prod}}, as I think the article deserves its chance. Have you any possibility to find out more? --Vejvančický (talk) 11:49, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm looking for it, but it will take time. May be, meanwhile it will be enough to site a reference to the article about House of Bondić? I think that it was the information from their archives. --Ozolina (talk) 11:56, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Referring to another Wiki article is not enough for establishing notability, but now you have some time to find out more about her. Good luck in your searching. Have a nice day. --Vejvančický (talk) 12:05, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I flagged the article for speedy deletion after my searching didn't turn up any independent, off-wiki sources to indicate her notability in any way. Although I take your word for it that she existed and was a painter, not every person "deserves," as you put it, an article on Wikipedia. Wikiepedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, so the mere fact someone existed isn't a reason for a separate article. In fact, it's often better to have related, but individually minor, topics together in the same article (like House of Bondić), rather than diversifying to a variety of articles with little hope of expansion beyond stub status, because it keeps related information more easily accessible. Anyway, I don't see signs WP:BIO will be met here, so I'll say I support the PROD unless further information turns up. Thanks--  Glenfarclas  (talk) 12:09, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
ОК, delete the article, but there is a problem, what to do with the information about this painter in House of Bondić? Also to delete? I've read this info and thought that she deserves a separate article. That's my only relationship with this painter )))). So do everything you would like to. --Ozolina (talk) 12:18, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Jelena Dorotke requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.  Glenfarclas  (talk) 11:34, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Jelena Dorotke has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There are no sources supporting the claims in the article or establishing notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Vejvančický (talk) 11:49, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is a croatian film that was made about this person [1], and that (translated to English) is likely the original source of the information about her in House of Bondić. I am doing to deprod article and hit up a croatian editor I know to look for more sources.--Milowent (talk) 20:26, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Note, the correct spelling of the subject is Jelena Dorotka, and I moved the article thusly.--Milowent (talk) 21:04, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Jelena Dorotka, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jelena Dorotka. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message.  Glenfarclas  (talk) 23:12, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

** I think that since Milowent found the film about her, there is no doubt that the article must remain. And there is also a reference to her in the article about Ivan Meštrović. What more? There are hundreds of less significant painters in Wiki. --Ozolina (talk) 16:23, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Jonathan Richardson (painter)

[edit]
Updated DYK query On January 13, 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Jonathan Richardson (painter), which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check ) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Takashi Murakami. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 15:45, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but I've seen his date of burth in Russian Wiki. ru:Мураками, Такаси Is it incorrect? And just to remind WP:BB. --Ozolina (talk) 15:54, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
BB is great, but that has nothing to do with contributing unsourced content. I don't know if the date is incorrect, but it must be supported by a reliable source. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 17:23, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Is this enough? [2] In all other Wiki languages this date is written. I'm sorry but I can't understand what the problem is and why we had to have such a conversation with references to talk pages and Wiki rules. --Ozolina (talk) 17:50, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of United Artists Rating, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://rating.artunion.ru/english.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you....Modernist (talk) 13:09, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your link is not necessary to those artists biographies - rather you are promoting the validity of that particular volume. Your additions appear to be spam...Modernist (talk) 13:09, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am ready for a compromise. Some painters known by everybody (like Degas) really do not need the information about their rating, but painters like Monticelli or Beuys need it. Wiki is not only for specialists who know everything about everyone. --Ozolina (talk) 13:25, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely not. Ratings are not needed or remotely important to encyclopedic biography. To say one artist is #1 and another artist is rated #2 etc. is not gonna happen - make no mistake! Beuys and Monticelli and other notable artists do not need your books imposition into their bios, they are already notable and important...Modernist (talk) 13:43, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, now I agree, but if I see somewhere some kind of rating, I shall reconsider ;) --Ozolina (talk) 13:57, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
