...interesting, "Melissa Hadley Poole"...have you heard of conflict of interest? I would be willing to unblock in order for you to change your name, as long as no additional edits are made to the Hadley Poole article, unless it is done to remove items contrary to our biography of living persons policy. I checked this user's contributions, and she is certainly in violation of the conflict of interest guidelines- her edits are not neutral fact corrections, but attempts to add a bias to the article. I don't think I'd support an unblock without some assurance that you're going to avoid this subject in future. Are you interested in volunteering to help write an encyclopedia?
