I fail to see how it is promotional since everything I included was purely factual in that last edit if you require me to use a different source I very well can do that for example here is another one.

Here is said problematic edit "South Sioux City is home to Team USA's unified floor hockey team going to the 2013 Special Olympics World Games happening January 26, 2013 in PyeongChang, South Korea. South Sioux City's Special Olympics unified floor hockey team is a registered 501(c) non-profit. The team is made up of 20 people, 16 athletes and 4 coaches."

We don't use press releases as sources for these kinds of things. Also, the addition "...is a registered 501(c) non-profit. The team is made up of 20 people, 16 athletes and 4 coaches." gives too much detail. The people that comprise the city and it's history are one in the same. Without the people there is no city. The hockey team is and will only be from that city and is a by product of the city so to remove them from the history of the city would be detrimental. I can live with that agreement.

I've pulled the floor-hockey paragraph again, since the website cited doesn't appear to mention South Sioux, and since it does make a rather up-front pitch for donations, Facebook friending, &c. I tried to find an independent source for this information, but couldn't. There appeared to be an article in the Dakota County Star, but it looks like a verbatim printing of a press release—note the phrase "...you can visit us on Facebook...", where "us" doesn't appear to be the Star. (The article also used "it's" as a possessive in its first sentence, which suggests that the Star copy-editors never even looked at it.)

If a good third-party source can be found, the material can be re-inserted; but it should probably be in a new section, "Sports", rather than in "History". Ammodramus (talk) 00:14, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
