Speedy deletion of Neilius Ashland

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Neilius Ashland requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. In the last revision of the first version that I deleted, you wrote:"<font color="#FFFFFF">Although Neilius Ashland was in fact a real person and hero for many, this biography of Neilius Ashland is completely fictional, any names used in this story that are similar to actual persons is only a coincidence.</font>". So please stop reposting this or you will be blocked from editing.--Tikiwont 14:05, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
With respect also to your e-mail, sorry in case I jumped to conclusions from that hidden text. Still there was no indication also in Google that the person exists (as described and differnt form some contemporary musician). Now if reconstructing his life is an ongoing project, the best may to wait with the Wikipedia article until that has been concluded and published, keeping in mind the Wikipedia principle of no original research. If you have enough material, you may want to recreate it as a subpage in your user space, using reliable sources, and then let me or another administrator evaluate it. In any case it is important to distinguish clearly between fact and fiction. --Tikiwont 09:02, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Neilius M. Ashland

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Neilius M. Ashland, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Neilius M. Ashland. Thanks for uploading Image:Flack_Memorial_Church_1940.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:59, 29 June 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Calliopejen1 (talk) 02:59, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
