Thank you.
There's a lot of wiki vandalism connected to the trivia contest in Stevens Point, WI this weekend. thank you for your diligence. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jwend392 (talk • contribs) 19:37, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
World Ballet Competition
Hello there,
Sorry that my first attempt did not meet the requirement of Wiki. Could I please have access to the deleted article to revise it and resubmit it for approval? There are many more ballet competitions listed on wiki and it is a shame that there is no mention of one of the most prestigious one. Anyways, there was no poyright infrigement as I do have the rights to the content, but I will revise it anyways.
Thanks a lot for the attention to this matter and I appologize again for the inconvenience.
Regards,
fpetrutiu
- Hello, you need to ask the administrator who deleted it - Peridon. It was deleted as a copyright violation (it had been copied from another web site). It is not enough to say that you own the content - this needs to be proved. It also needs to be written as a neutral article and not an advert, the previous version was clearly just an advert. This person has made only two edits. Both disruptive. One on the Georges Bizet page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheThomas (talk • contribs) 20:42, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you. In general Wikipedia practice is to only block anonymous editors (by blocking the IP address) after several instances of vandalism all closely spaced. That's because many different people could be editing from the IP address. In this case the two edits are two days apart so a block would only be appropriate if there are at least another three or four cases of vandalism following appropriate warnings that the user ignored. I'll be sure to keep an eye on it though - thanks QU TalkQu 20:54, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
Your revert
Hi, good spot with your Gingerbread reverts, you just beat me to it, I was just about to press the rollback button and it failed! However, I noticed that you were using Twinkle and Twinkle does have the benefits of leaving a quick note on the editors whos edit you reverted talk page. Im not sure if you were in the process of giving them a warning, but if you weren't, it is really beneficial to the editor who done wrong that you leave a note on their TP to point out how and why they did! It also helps other editors see if they have been editing disruptively a lot to see if the troublesome editor needs to be blocked from previous warnings. Thanks! --Chip123456 (talk) 20:35, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
Note: I have given them a caution, so don't worry! --Chip123456 (talk) 20:35, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm using Huggle and drop into Twinkle when it isn't "cut and dried" vandalism. For that revert I wasn't 100% sure it was vandalism as opposed to just a poorly written, non notable and uncited addition... hence no warning. If you think it was vandalism then fair enough that you warned them - thanks. QU TalkQu 20:42, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
- I didn't tag it as vandalism either as like you, thought it wasn't 100% vandalism. I gave them a general caution for editing tests, thought that was the most sensible thing to do. I was only going to use the rollback as The editor was misguided and I judged their edit as unhelpful to the encyclopaedia and was going to inform them, which in the end I did anyway. It's good though that you admit you were not sure so didn't want to take any action, happy editing! --Chip123456 (talk) 20:54, 30 April 2012 (UTC)
Deleted Afd comment
Hi. User Anon360 removed your comment from the AfD on Marc Shane. I've restored it but you should check I didn't mess anything up. (I see now that I put it out of order but I figured that another edit on my part to fix that goof probably wasn't worthwhile.) Another user has already placed a warning on Anon360's user talk page. Dricherby (talk) 22:24, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, I will check - they removed another comment earlier. QU TalkQu 22:25, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
Hi
Hi. This is regarding the edits to the Dulwich Shanghai wiki page. You may not know this but I am actually a former student of the school. So I definitely know a good deal about the school and therefore you can be assured that what I put is accurate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Harzi2 (talk • contribs) 22:37, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hello,, the reason some of your edits are being reverted is they do not comply with core Wikipedia policies. So the issue isn't whether you know about the school or not, or the accuracy of what you are writing. Rather it is how you are writing it. A good example is the addition of the sentence "Howard is the most popular and respected house at Dulwich College". This fails the Wikipedia policy of neutral point of view. "Popular" and "respected" are points of view - yours presumably. In order to be included here they must be cited. That is a reliable source must be provided that proves that the majority view of independent commentators is that this house is indeed respected and popular. Remember your knowledge isn't what is needed here because Wikipedia only publishes data drawn from reliable secondary sources. That is, its articles are based on what people have written about a subject in respected journals, newspapers and books. It is not based on what the editors "know". That's why you must provide a source for what you are writing. Hope this helps. QU TalkQu 22:58, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Another sock puppet on the Press kit article
Hi. I noticed you'd dealt with the sock puppet accounts on the press kit article last week and the editor appears to have returned again. I'm not good at dealing with these types of editors, so I thought I'd let you know so that you might deal with it. Thanks --- Crakkerjakk (talk) 22:20, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hi again. Sorry to bother you again about this. The editor has returned (under various IPs/usernames) since I left the above message so I went ahead and added a note about it to the original report you started. I spend most of my time editing articles and I'm not familiar with the proper procedure to deal with these types of persistent sockpuppets, so I wanted to let you know, in case I've done anything wrong, you could let me know. Thanks --- Crakkerjakk (talk) 19:47, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
- That's the correct process (to add the report to the Sockmaster page, not the "archived case"). There are a few flags and tags that help tell an administrator that something needs doing but that'll get cleaned up by someone soon or I'll do it later when I get a chance.
