Thanks for uploading File:Logo of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong.svg. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

December 2014
Your recent editing history at Template:Umbrella Movement shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. George Ho (talk) 00:23, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
You have been reported at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring. Comment there. --George Ho (talk) 00:31, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of National People's Congress election, 2002 (Hong Kong), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: National People's Congress election, 2012 (Hong Kong). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 10:25, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hi! It seems that when you created this page, you re-used content from some other Wikipedia page. That's OK as long as you provide attribution, which you don't seem to have done in this case. Would you kindly either provide the necessary attribution, or tell me where you copied the content from so that I can do it for you? Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:56, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
- Hi! I see that you have made many edits since I posted this here. Would you please be kind enough to answer this question: where did you copy the content of National People's Congress election, 2002 (Hong Kong) from? I'd appreciate a reply. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 00:32, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- Since you refuse to respond here, I have now redirected the page. Please do not restore the content without attribution of the source you copied it from. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 14:44, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- @User:Justlettersandnumbers I'm terribly sorry for the late reply. I copied the format and many of its contents from National People's Congress election, 2008 (Hong Kong) as they have highly similar content. Is there anyway to be avoided from being detected as duplicated? Lmmnhn (talk) 16:31, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for your reply. There's no problem with copying the content, you just need to provide attribution. The acceptable minimum is to acknowledge in your edit summary where you copied the stuff from (something like "start new page with content from Foo page"); if you want to do it properly, you can use {{copied}} on the talk page of both articles (source and destination). Would you like to do that in this case so that we can put your page back up, or would you like me to do it (either is fine with me)? For next time: provided there is attribution, when the bot flags the page whoever checks it will see that it's all done right and can quickly cross it off the list. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:02, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
- Since I have not done it before and I am busy right now. I would hope that you can help me out and so I can also see how you do it. Thanks a lot. Lmmnhn (talk) 18:07, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

Hello, I'm SilverSurfingSerpant. I've noticed that you've been creating several articles on elections, such as this, this, this and this. However, every single one of these articles doesn't have a single source that is cited to it, and that's a problem. When we create articles, we should create them with some references attached. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Economy of Words
Noted you have reversed my edit to Gary Fan. The purpose of the edit is to (1) expunge repetition and (2) improve the quality of source. The edit reversal preserves a repetition of the same "bottom of" or "root of" opinion, each merely being alternative English translations of the original words used by Fan. These are not two facts but one expressed in alternate forms. It should be removed for this reason. As regards the quality of source, you are insisting on relying upon a controversial political commentator's regurgitation opinion piece rather than on the original press report. This degrades the quality of the encyclopedia. I urge you to reconsider. Sirlanz 01:56, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

Chinglish in Wikipedia
I note your various edits to Elsie Tu. While we all applaud your efforts to contribute to WP, I have the following observations: (1) adding swathes of grammatically very poor material just creates work for capable English editors. Over 4,000 characters of such material in one go is genuinely problematic. Might I suggest that you restrict your activities to Chinese WP? (2) You are reversing other editors' work merely on the basis of the desire to preserve your own work without justification. Your 0338 10 Dec edit cites a lack of "casual relations" in my introductory expression. Please explain what relations, casual or otherwise, have to do with your undo. If, perchance, you had the need for a causal link in mind, then all you need do is read all that immediately preceded the words I added. The purpose of the introductory words was to aid the flow from one section to the next. The denouement to Tu's years in political office was to take the appointed role. It was a refuge from repeated failure to retain elected office. (3) You write masses of completely unsupported material or take others' out on the basis of lack of support but merrily add in yours, equally without support. Sirlanz 03:43, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- (1) I believe my grammar is not perfect but definitely not "poor". Please point out any example to support your claim or you should try to and correct it to help improving the article instead of whining on my talk page; (2) I did not "preserve" my own work after someone deleted it but extensively adding contents which all of them are cited. Sorry for the typo but I meant "causal". I believe even if Tu was elected in 1995 she would still accept the appointment in 1996, so your argument is weak; (3) As I state above, everything I wrote is cited.Lmmnhn (talk) 04:15, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- Grammar - here's one to get your head around. I've selected it because I took out your error and you went right back and put your poor English back in again: "She opposed to the last Governor". Either you can say "She was opposed to" or you can say "She opposed" but you can't say "She opposed to". The very deep problem here is your approach. You do not recognise your own very, very faulty English and are so arrogant about it that you even reverse correction. This little preposition may not mean much to you but it's very, very basic English. And I emphasise I selected this merely because it highlights that, even given the lead, you reject it and insist. I shall attempt to find time to go through and fix up your mess, but time is the issue. Keep an eye on the page and try to keep an open mind to the point that you are not capable of providing a decent standard of English on English WP. Get someone who knows to edit your material before committing it, perhaps? I do not wish to be so testy about this but it's such a tremendous waste of time. Sirlanz 04:27, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- I never saw such a rude wikipeidian on here. First you said I wrote in Chinglish and then you told me to restrict my editing in Chinese Wikipedia? Who is being arrogant here? And the only thing I can point out is the "to"! Seriously?! And how is the "opposed to" even related to Chinglish? I tried to avoid saying this but you are just being racist and full of yourself. It's a free encyclopedia and welcome everyone to contribute. I don't admit that I have the best grammar on here but I've done what I could have to help improving Wikipedia and I have people helped me correcting my mistakes and same for me to them. What you have said are totally unwikipedian. You kept accusing me of editing without support, but in fact all the contents I wrote are cited. If you are here just to insult then I don't think I need to deal with you anymore. Goodbye.Lmmnhn (talk) 08:28, 10 December 2015
- i I invite you to take a look at the page edit history now. 23 edits in the last hour. The material was unmitigated rubbish. Your English is just simply far, far short of what is required. And I'm not even half-way through. You blatantly misquote source material, misunderstand it and misrepresent it. Please restrain yourself or, as I have suggested, have your proposed edits vetted before posting them. My abruptness, as I have explained above arises from your arrogance in Undo-ing edits directed at correcting blatant failings of English grammar Sirlanz 15:36, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

User:Sirlanz, you are out of line in being so rude and also out to lunch: Lmmnhn is one of the best contributors on English Wikipedia for Hong Kong related content, especially politics. Your edits to Elsie Tu (over 50 consecutive minor edits and counting) are making more of a mess than any “Chinglish” ever did here - are you familiar with the preview button? Furthermore I am noticing factual and grammatical errors in your own editing. Pot calling the kettle black. Citobun (talk) 15:52, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- Multiple edits were deliberate. The page was one of the most appalling examples to be seen in WP. The multiplicity of edits was designed to make the point to Lmmnhn just how shockingly deficient the page was. Perhaps you might also get that point. And I'm obliged, of course, to anyone who can pick up my errors. I make them. But I dare say what I've done is massively improve the page. Over to you if you have any specifics to back up your comment. Sirlanz 16:27, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Citobun: I start by repeating that the standard of English in the page was atrocious. If that's the best Hong Kong can offer in editing (as you imply), we have something to go home and weep about. But what I did was, by and large, no more than superficial. The page remains a very poor example because it contains many elements which do not conform to WP standards, specifically, many statements of purported fact whose citations relied upon by lmmnhm are merely the subject's own comment found in her own work. An encyclopedia is of little value if it parrots as fact such material. If I have the time (and this is the part that requires real talent and dedication, so I may not be up to it), I'll do the research and try to find independent sources to justify what's said and, if I cannot, much material will have to be modified or deleted. Or perhaps lmmhn would like to take this comment on board and, in a manner quite dissimilar to her response to my efforts to bring her grammar up to scratch, accept that there's a long way to go and take at least one step up to the plate. Sirlanz 03:10, 11 December 2015 (UTC)

- @Sirlanz: Be warned that editing to make a [{WP:POINT|point]] is disruptive and can be enforced with a block. Blackmane (talk) 01:27, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Blackmane: Your warning is entirely misguided. Every edit was made to enhance the quality of the page and/or to conform to WP principles. No edit was made for the sake of making a point. Be specific. If you think there is an edit which reflects nothing but point-making, identify it. I chose to make edits in small pieces so as to assist lmmnhn (ease of reference so she could challenge any of them) and to make the point that there was a huge amount of work to be done on the page to make it meet basic standards of English. In point of fact, many of the edits I made were contained multiple changes, so you can easily see that my approach was not simply bloody-minded. So I have to say youf warning is completely out of line and inappropriate bombast. If it had substance, I would see it differently, of course. Sirlanz 03:04, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Sirlanz: The manner of editing as a whole was disruptive, you know that. You already admitted that "The multiplicity of edits was designed to make the point to Lmmnhn just how shockingly deficient the page was." Furthermore here you go again blathering about Lmmnhn's "serious overrating of one's abilities". You're no expert copy-editor yourself so give it up with the personal attacks and childish behavior. Citobun (talk) 03:35, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Citobun: Yet again, no substance from you, i.e. not a single identified disruptive edit. At my age, given you provide nothing to back it up or explain it, I'll take "childish" as a compliment, thanks. I've never claimed prowess as an editor, I merely edited what I see as blatantly wrong and am wide open to criticism/correction of my contribution to the accuracy of WP, unlike, I regret to say, lmmnhn. sirlanzSirlanz 06:23, 11 December 2015 (UTC)

- @Citobun: You misunderstand the policy. It is directed at edits made for no other purpose than to make a point. That was never the purpose and that is manifest because if it were, there would have been about twice as many or more as most of them are composite edits. Again, you are not prepared to condescend to details/facts. This is reprehensible behaviour on your part, i.e. to helicopter in, blast away without looking or caring, and then depart, throwing the matter to the wind, imploring someone to come in and provide the substance that is sadly and completely lacking in your criticism. Take a look. Does a disrupter spend all the time I did in providing edit summaries for each and every edit performed? You are just simply not genuine in this matter and readers of this material will hopefully form their own conclusions by going to the source, the edits, not your completely unjustified criticisms. sirlanz Sirlanz 07:19, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Citobun: It is telling that, in a post in which you call for the avoidance of ad hominem argument, you accuse me of "blathering". You are simply short on substance and this is the way the argument goes from you. I stand ready to withdraw any edit I have made as soon as its fault is identified (there are bound to be some). sirlanz Sirlanz 07:39, 11 December 2015 (UTC)

Cut and paste move
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give 2016 Mong Kok Riot a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into 2016 Mong Kok civil unrest. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. _dk (talk) 06:45, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
Thank you
Not sure how to use it effectively at the moment, do you just copy and paste the whole code (very long) or you use the visual editor? 42.98.143.152 (talk) 04:24, 11 February 2016 (UTC)

Political parties template
When you change party seat counts in the template, can you please explain in the edit summary what has changed hands or who has changed parties? Deryck C. 12:34, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

What`s wrong with this?
- What is the point of listing ONLY elected seats, instead of total seats of district council of HK, as the meeting of district council is held NOT ONLY elected seats, but ALSO Ex Officio Member (Rural Committee Chairmen). Listing ONLY elected seats is very misleading to the readers. I have added Appointed seats according your request, but why you still revert??? UU (talk) 15:17, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
- The problem with the appointed and ex officio seats are:
- They are not elected seats.
- It is confusing to just leave the info of appointed and ex officio seats blank while leave the total seats unchanged, which is not just unclear but also makes the number of the total seats wrong.
- Please stop before we come up a consensus. Lmmnhn (talk) 15:20, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

Rollback
Hello. I've been made aware that you've been using the rollback button inappropriately. Rollback should only be used in uncontroversial cases to undo vandalism or your own mistakes. This is a good use of rollback. But these [2][3] are inappropriate because you're undoing another editor's editorial preference without explanation. Please consult Wikipedia:Rollback if you're unsure. I'll have to remove your rollback right if anyone complains about your using rollback inappropriately again. Deryck C. 11:07, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
- It's very unfortunate. I thought I was using it "to revert widespread edits " which "are judged to be unhelpful to the encyclopedia" and I did explain on the talk page. I will be much more careful with the rollback button in the future. Lmmnhn (talk) 11:46, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
- You're right, and the main point there is it needs to be uncontroversial. If you think a discussion is likely to arise, it's probably controversial. Thanks for offering to be careful. Deryck C. 14:50, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

Tempate:Hong Kong Kwai Tsing Council Constituencies listed at Redirects for discussion
An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Tempate:Hong Kong Kwai Tsing Council Constituencies. Since you had some involvement with the Tempate:Hong Kong Kwai Tsing Council Constituencies redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Thanks - 2016 honours
Thanks for updating the various HK honours pages with the 1 July 2016 recipients - only one day after the awards! You've wikilinked some names. Should I assume that you've checked all of them, or can I help with that follow-up? Onanoff (talk) 14:55, 2 July 2016 (UTC)

A reminder
Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Hong Kong National Party, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. STSC (talk) 13:47, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

The purpose of edit summaries
The edit summary offers the opportunity to communicate purpose and intent to other editors. It is a courtesy to provide one. Where edit reversal is the nature of the edit, the edit summary ought to be regarded as an essential, not just a courtesy, because any edit reversal must be accompanied by a powerful reason for doing it. It is notable that Lmmnhn has a very low edit summary rate, currently only 56.4%. Now, there can be some good reasons for that but Lmmnhn has just reversed an edit made to Pierre Chan and provided no such summary. This is negative behaviour in a collaborative environment Lmmnhn is urged to consider increasing edit summaries as a sign of recognition that WP is not a private page workplace. sirlanz 08:11, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
- The reason of my edit has been already stated. Additionally, why do you need three brackets in a row? Lmmnhn (talk) 08:28, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
- For the record, the reason was stated only after this entry was made on this talk page. As regards the inelegance of three bracketed entries, by all means anyone interested in tidying that up is welcome, so long as the content is not lost in the process. sirlanz 08:37, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

About categorization of elected candidates
Template:Hong Kong legislative election, 2016
According to HK Apple Daily and TVB, they said there are 7 elected candidates are of "Localism camp", including 6 in geographical constituencies and 1 in traditional functional constituencies. Is it better to split the "Anti-establishment camp" in "Pan-democracy camp" and "Localism camp" on the above template? UU (talk) 11:22, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- Apple Daily does not categorise Eddie Chu, Lau Siu-lai and Nathan Law as "localists" but rather "self-determinists", but this label does not exist in the English media yet. Before more sources come out, I would prefer to make a more general categorisation.Lmmnhn (talk) 12:10, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for replying. Just for information, Edward Yiu in Architectural, Surveying, Planning and Landscape (constituency) is the only 1 elected candidate of "Localism camp" in traditional functional constituencies. UU (talk) 13:29, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
According to HK Apple Daily: 陳沛然得票高於上屆梁家騮, Bastille: 陳沛然屬性有爭議 and MUCH MORE recent sources, Pierre Chan is of middle-of-the-road group, rather than "anti-establishment" ("反"建制) (anti- mean "反", but NOT "非"). Therefore, categorizing Pierre Chan into "anti-establishment" is very inappropriate. Please stop misleading readers, thank you. UU (talk) 16:33, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
- I did not prevent you to change it if you have noticed. By the way, please mind your manner by avoiding accusation of "misleading readers" in a civilised environment such as an online encyclopedia like Wikipedia. Lmmnhn (talk) 16:41, 6 September 2016 (UTC)
- My accusation is valid, because you have made edits like this , which shows your overbearing manner. In Template:Hong Kong legislative election, 2016, the elected candidates of "Pro-Beijing others" were decreased by one because Junius Ho was elected, BUT Tony Tse was defeated and Leung Ka-lau was retired. UU (talk) 10:01, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
- Whatever I have done, it is NOT my intention to "mislead readers" and your accusation is totally unfair. To accuse others of "misleading readers" or whatever reasons, I do believe that is called "overbearing manner". Lmmnhn (talk) 12:35, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
