Refactoring talk pages

[edit]

I notice in Talk:List of space flight simulator games you have taken it upon yourself to break apart threads and reorganize the page based on how you see fit. I would just like to point out that this is generally frowned upon. It's generally considered correct to leave threads in their original chronological order, starting with the oldest threads at the top and ending with the newest thread. SharkD (talk) 18:09, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I did nothing of the sort, I added the games as I came across them and placed them in the list in alphabetical order so games and sequels could be easily recognized. The tables are all sortable so the chronological order standard can easily be adhered to, so basically it fits nicely into the Wikipdeia's MOS:TM. Also, please refrain from directly pointing a finger at me, this is also "generally frowned upon", please see Wikipedia:No personal attacks. I feel really intimidated and nervous every time you send a message to me as you are intimidating and rarely speak in a constructive manner. If the conversation even remotely progresses in this fashion I will not hesitate to speak to Wikipedia about your actions and comments, your patterns of hostility are evident in every comment and every action undertaken by you. I have done my best to try to put out the fires by being as polite and neutral as possible, please do the same. --Kirihari (talk) 01:36, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As of today I am contacting a Wikipedia Arbitrator, I will inform them of the things that have just occurred, of your actions and your inability to discuss before major life changing page decisions are made. --Kirihari (talk) 02:40, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Read more closely: I was talking about the comments on the Talk page for the article. You completely butchered it and put all the threads out of order. As for the arbiter, would you mind discussing these things on some page that exists on Wikipedia so that we can all see what is going on? I don't think any private conversations (via email and so forth) should be given much weight. SharkD (talk) 00:02, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey man, I wanna formally apologize, I had a Wikipedia administrator tell me I was wrong, your friend told me I was wrong, and Randomran (who I like) told me I was wrong. So I am not that much of an asshole to continue being belligerent after that. I apologize man, I threw some insults at you that were not warranted. I don't care if we are friends or not, but I am not going anywhere and I really love this list. I will do my best to keep a friendly atmosphere when working together with you in the future. Thank you. --Kirihari (talk) 02:58, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Man... ehheeh.. eek...:P --Kirihari (talk) 13:35, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I say Eek again... eek and ack... ehhehe.. that's all I have to say. ;) ehhehe --Kirihari (talk) 07:57, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This night deserves another eek! ehhehe, I have no idea what to do. I truly do wish we could just start fresh and constructively work together to build a nice little list. Can't we? --Kirihari (talk) 11:32, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A few suggestions

[edit]

Kirihari, I get that you're more than enthused about space flight simulators, and that's a beautiful thing! But you're not a space flight sim. I'd like to see your userpage come out from the shell of being an article on space flight simulators, and be what it's designed to be; a description of your Wiki presence. I'm sure that you have more interests here than just space flight sim games; if not, your entire account could be brought under suspicion of being an Single-purpose account, and having Conflict of interest issue(s). Besides, I like to know who I'm working with! :-D Edit Centric (talk) 08:35, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AHAHAH, ok, I have no idea what you just said about Wiki presence but I will do my very best to fix her all up. I originally copied that article from the old space combat simulators page on Wikipedia during the inception of this list. I am just interested in Religion, Politics, Space Flight Simulators, Hacking Simulators, and... anything Japanese ... eehehe cuz I live here. I will do my best.. in the next couple of days. Wow and Edit Centric, seriously I really want to thank you man, I don't know what to say, I thought the article that I worked so hard on was about to die. I mean I was actually having problems sleeping. Everytime I tried to voice my opinion, it just got crushed. I can't thank you enough. No matter what happens in the next few days I will do my absolute best to discuss things and try to come to a reasonable solution ;). Thanks so much my friend. --Kirihari (talk) 08:53, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, rest assured that the main beneficiary of what is about to happen is the article, and Wikipedia as a whole. That's the way it should be. Article changes, however distressing, are just that. Article changes, on Wikipedia. Nothing to lose sleep over. If you want to know what I mean about Wiki presence, just check out some of the other users' pages, including mine. That will definitely give you some solid ideas to work from! Edit Centric (talk) 09:01, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh for sure, I just remember trying to find this information a year ago, and it didn't exist, so I created it, if this list evolves into something totally different but better then so be it, however I am absolutely overjoyed with the fact that you are here. You are right though, I definitely should not let this get to me, in the future I think I now have a better understanding of the process of things, so I don't think it will happen again. No matter how things turn out, thank you. I took a look at your page, it is actually a pretty neat idea I think. I don't really like the whole blog thing, but it is not really like a blog, it is stating your intention on Wikipedia. Pretty cool I think. ありがとう! (a-ri-ga-to-u) Thank you! --Kirihari (talk) 09:12, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Kirihari. Unfortunately, I'm going to presume I was too late to give you any help with your situation, given that the relevant discussion that you linked me to was already archived. Anymore, I'm all but retired, kind of popping in every month or so ;). I do appreciate you coming to me nonetheless, however, and I apologize that I could not give you any help then. Having written one featured list for the VG project, I probably would have had something to say. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 18:01, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reply! It went in my favor in the end anyways but may I ask why you retired? --Kirihari (talk) 04:32, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, to be honest... quite simply, I lost interest in editing articles and lists. I found my interests changing rapidly, and Wikipedia just stopped being fun. Still, I pop in sometimes just to check on things, so I wouldn't call myself completely retired, just semi-retired. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
