Signing comments

[edit]

Hello Kavigupta! When posting comments on Talk pages (not inside articles themselves), don't forget to sign your comment with four tildes ~~~~ at the end. Or just click the scribbly signature icon next to B and I in the top left corner of the editing interface toolbar and it types out the four tildes ~~~~ for you. --Treetear (talk) 11:35, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I use the tildes, and then it generates the signature with no links in it. That's on my desktop (Chrome/Ubuntu) but this is on mobile, so let me see if it works here: Kavigupta 16:48, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply! Interesting; I'm not sure what's going on. Try going to Special:Preferences and scroll down to "Signature" and "Your existing signature". Check if that one has links the proper way, otherwise you might need to change this setting. Best regards, Treetear (talk) 18:26, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ok I had some weird setting set, I think, let's see if this fixes it. Kavigupta (talk) 19:10, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nice! I have no idea how that setting got out of whack; I think several-years-younger me who set up this account might have not known what they were doing. Thanks for the advice! Kavigupta (talk) 19:13, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Perfect - happy I could help! --Treetear (talk) 14:02, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you have questions about editing on Wikipedia, you can always bring them to the Teahouse. I realize you have had an account for a long time but I've been here just as long and I still learn new things! Liz Read! Talk! 01:03, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Don't remove uncited text in the lead section

[edit]

Hello, please don't remove uncited text in lead sections of articles, because statements in the lead generally don't require citations if they are repeated elsewhere in the article. Graham87 (talk) 07:19, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I should have mentioned in the edit note, but it also isn't mentioned in the body Kavigupta (talk) 14:05, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
