Sockpuppet investigation
An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Kailash29792, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

This is your only warning; if you remove or blank page contents or templates from Wikipedia again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Obliterating content, removal of deletion tags on your own pages, edit warring, tendentious editing... all the stuff we talked about on my talk page. Cabayi (talk) 11:25, 7 March 2020 (UTC)

- Sulfurboy, read the latest on my talk page if you like. (Hint: if K were still blocked, how did he make that edit?) The version you've just reverted was, imho, a good improvement which gave equal recognition to the two language versions. Cabayi (talk) 15:29, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

Cabayi and Sulfurboy, apologies if improving a blocked user's edits was a crime. My intention was not to be disruptive, edit war or be biased because of Bhargav's ethnicity. The earlier revision did not have a sourced cast section, a proper production section, soundtrack for both Tamil and Telugu versions (only Telugu), or a reviews section. Just promotional fluff (mainly in violation of WP:FILMMARKETING) and non-reliable, badly formatted sources in need of replacement. That's why I had to overwrite the content (if you compare both revisions, you'll see there's little content removal, only more addition). Though my intentions were clearly good, I admit they could have been executed better (can restoring my content in separate edits be called "cautious editing"?), so I deserve to be blocked for a week from editing the article. Kailash29792 (talk) 02:48, 8 March 2020 (UTC)
- It's truly mind blowing to me how delusional you still are to how wrong your actions were. I would highly advise not attempting to edit that article again. I believe Cabayi has been incredibly patient with you and you have turned on them each time. If I see you disruptively edit again, I'm taking your actions to dispute resolution and you can deal with what they do there. Sulfurboy (talk) 02:58, 8 March 2020 (UTC)
- Cabayi, some IP has been re-adding content created by me into College Kumar, but I can assure you that someone isn't me. So please don't accuse me of sockpuppetry. --Kailash29792 (talk) 03:20, 9 March 2020 (UTC)
Critical response quotes
Hi Kailash, I hope you don't mind if I drop a general thought about critical response quotes, as they relate to the whole College Kumar fiasco you've been going through. The WikiProject Film community tends to prefer that the critical response section be written as a narrative that is supported by references and some quotations, if necessary. Looking at FA American Beauty (1999 film)#Critical reception, (ignoring the "overwhelming praise" fluff that I hate, ) the contributors seem focused on describing how the cast was received, then how Spacey was received, then there is a paragraph on direction, then on writing, and most of the quotes are in the 2, 3, 4 word length, with some longer quotes as needed. (You may also notice that there isn't a heavy emphasis on star ratings, either. This has become a problematic meme in Indian film articles.)
The general template I use when trying to impact new editors is this:
The film's cinematography received attention from critics, several of whom praised the wide sweeping shots used throughout the dance sequences. John Doe of ABC Times noted the photography "gave [him] a sense of flying". Rory Sen of DEF Bugle wrote, "I was transported to the crisp verdant hills of Switzerland. The techniques used by Salman Croix were astounding." These sentiments were not felt by Roy Smythe of DEF Times who described the photography as dizzying. Smythe praised Mamta Bloggs's acting, describing her as "believable and adorable." Vijay Chambers of GHI Weekly thought Bloggs had good chemistry with Hrithik Jones, describing the pair as "hilarious and lovable."
This is roughly what a new film's early critical response section should look like. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:09, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
- Cyphoidbomb, thanks I do know that stuff, but sometimes it's too time-consuming to decide what to keep from the review and what not. Often I reserve this exercise only for articles I plan on taking to GA and beyond, and resort to just putting just the bottomline from the review in quotes verbatim for others. Is Kumudam's review of Chandralekha paraphrased well enough? Kailash29792 (talk) 16:19, 10 March 2020 (UTC)
- It's not egregiously long, but I feel like it could be summarised instead of quoted. What are the "shocking events"? The ideal version might be closer to
In contrast, Kumudam gave the film a lukewarm review, describing the story as ordinary, but pointing out that the introduction of <specific elements go here> was "something new to the Tamil cinema"
. I mean, that quote could probably even be summarised further. Regards. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:03, 10 March 2020 (UTC)

ANI notice
There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:57, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Kailash - I realised that you mentioned me at the ANI thread, and I didn't acknowledge your ping, so just dropping a note as a courtesy to say that, as far as I am concerned, there is no reason why you shouldn't edit the article in question. As with any article, if someone reverts your edit you are expected to discuss it with them on the talk page, but provided you do everything is good. The thread is closed now, so I wish you happy editing. Best GirthSummit (blether) 22:23, 11 March 2020 (UTC)
- Girth Summit, thank you so much. On a less related note, Sathi Leelavathi is currently at FAC, and one user is saying it "requires a substantial revision from someone working from the sources. You may have to partner with a stronger writer." Do you know if there is a place I can find someone for this? Kailash29792 (talk) 10:06, 12 March 2020 (UTC)

Single link
I noticed you removed one of the two genres of The Hunt in this edit. Please be aware that the guideline regarding film does allow for more than one link, if such is necessary. Since this film is indeed both a horror film and a thriller film, as attested to by many sources, and as discussed on the talkpage, please refrain from repeating your edit without obtaining prior consensus on the talkpage. Debresser, so it's not a violation of WP:NOTBROKEN or WP:SEAOFBLUE? Kailash29792 (talk) 13:34, 13 March 2020 (UTC)
- I don't understand the question regarding WP:NOTBROKEN.
- WP:SEAOFBLUE is a recommendation in the manual of style which clearly states "If possible". I don't see how it is possible to avoid two, or more, links in this case. Debresser (talk) 17:01, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
- You may have noticed that I found a way.[1] Debresser (talk) 13:03, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- Debresser, I'm out of this. The current wording seems awkward; even if one is not aiming for GA or FA, such phrasing needs to be improved. Do as earlier done: keep a single genre, the most commonly cited one (I'd prefer thriller), then list the various conflicting genres in a footnote. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:06, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Chopra's first film
Chopra's first film The Hero was released a month before her second Andaaz which also credits her as a debutant. Although Chopra had finished shooting Andaaz first, it's the other film which got released first. How to add this in Andaaz article? For now I have added a note in the lead section of the film. Also Andaaz credits Dutta and Chopra as Miss Universe 2000 and Miss World 2000 so I added that in the lead. So do you think it should not be used?Krish | Talk To Me 06:24, 16 March 2020 (UTC)
- It appears Chopra signed on The Hero before Andaaz, and The Hero also released before Andaaz despite being completed later. But if Andaaz was really planned to be her debut Bollywood release, as evidenced by the credits, you can use the credits (or any third party source if available) as source and write that despite this, The Hero ended up releasing earlier with source. The line "She had completed filming Andaaz first" can be removed. --Kailash29792 (talk) 07:22, 16 March 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Satya.jpg
A tag has been placed on File:Satya.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file namespace redirect shadowing a page on Commons, and has no incoming file links.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Mughal-e-Azam short description revert
Hello @Kailash29792:, you reverted an edit I did on the short description of Mughal-e-Azam without providing an explanation. I believe that the short description I wrote better informs the reader what the article is about as it describes the film rather than mentioning the director, which I think is more relevant. Would you care to tell me why you reverted it? It is important to always provide a reason for reverting edits, an experienced editor such as yourself should know that. werewolf (talk) 15:30, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
- Revirvlkodlaku, the description was unnecessarily longer and removed the director's name, that's why. Plus I was trying to follow what most Wikidata entries show. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:33, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
- "the description was unnecessarily longer" this is your own opinion, and as such, you shouldn't just undo people's work without providing an adequate reason. Sure, most Wikidata entries merely mention the year and director of a film, but adding the genre of the film isn't unnecessary, in my opinion, so why could it not remain? As long as it fits into the maximum recommended number of characters for a short description, it shouldn't be an issue. werewolf (talk) 16:09, 22 March 2020 (UTC)
Aathmika
It seems that her wiki page can only be created due to user Kudpung's (who is now semi retired) restriction. Her draft article is supported with sufficient sources from Times of India that were published post the deletion discussion that took place in 2016 (i.e.e 2017, 2020). Just wondering what you think of the draft's sources and if the Wikipedia page 'Aathmika' can be created now. --TamilMirchi (TALK)

Why is Kaadan not the title of the page? In the film's press meet, Rana Daggubati states that the film was first shot in Tamil (up to 30 takes) and then only shot in Telugu and Hindi. Hello, Kailash29792. This is a courtesy notice that the copy edit you requested for Veera (1994 film) at the Guild of Copy Editors requests page is now complete. All feedback welcome! Cheers, Baffle☿gab 00:02, 12 April 2020 (UTC) |
Mughal-e-Azam
Hi Kailash. To me, it makes no sense to have Kumar last in the credits list. Maybe in the actual film credits they had a reason and emphasized him at the end, but this does not come across in print. I think its better to have the lead star near the top of the list, not after all of the minor stars. Bollyjeff | talk 14:05, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
Do as you please. The user who originally rearranged per the B&W credits is blocked. Kailash29792 (talk) 14:15, 12 April 2020 (UTC)

Thank you today for Andha Naal, "about a milestone in Tamil cinema, the industry's first film without song or dance sequences, that won a National Film Award, even if it didn't succeed commercially in its original release due to its experimental nature."! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:34, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Veera (1994 film)
Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Veera (1994 film) you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Krish! -- Krish! (talk) 12:01, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
What to do when...
someone changes a consensed version of an article which was achieved by a grueling discussion? On another note, please check out my edit on Chopra's article as I have fixed some of the points as per the discussion on its talk page. And, please look out for grammar mistakes. Thanks.Krish | Talk To Me 20:44, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
- Krish!, I'm sure there are better editors to do that than me like Bollyjeff. I've lost the will to attempt future FACs, based on my latest setback. Now that I'll only be on Wiki for another year, I'd rather focus on making articles GAs. Would you like to review this GAN? Kailash29792 (talk) 04:52, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- Sure, I will take your review request. Also, I am not telling you to review any article. I just asked you to see the small edits that I made and look for grammatical mistakes and things like that. It won't take much long, you see. And, you are a fantastic editor and don't let an FAC failure make you question your worth. You are one of our very best editors.Krish | Talk To Me 11:55, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- Would you please talk back at Chopra's talk page? Even though you thanked my edits which I performed on that article, it has now been reverted by Krimuk 2.0.Krish | Talk To Me 18:43, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

FAC
Don't be discouraged Kailash, FACs can be tough. Even more so for you considering your chosen area of work, lost films and so, which are so much more difficult to work on. That said, all isn't lost. From what I see, a lot is lost in translation from Tamil language sources and that's where the problem begins. Anyway, some practice and reading the opposers' comments (as long as there's enough intelligible commentary) and featured articles on similar subjects really helps me improve. Let me know if you feel like working on an easier article for now? VedantTalk 08:00, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- So shines a good deed in a weary world. I thank you for trying to comfort me Vedant, but I've lost my mojo. I'm a white dwarf heading for a black hole (technically incorrect, but that's how a line goes in Tropic Thunder). I'm like Michael Keaton in Birdman. Anyway, I've not lost hope completely; I just won't work on making featured content. What matters more is, the article should be complete and factually accurate, and I'm convinced Sathi Leelavathi and Mullum Malarum have that. If you have time, would you like to review this GAN? Kailash29792 (talk) 08:51, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- I see that Krish has picked up the review. Good luck with this and everything else that you're looking to work on! VedantTalk 14:41, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

Posters
Dear Kailash29792! Can you upload posters of Bewafaa (2005 film) [3] and Devathaiyai Kanden [4] Thank you! --89.110.28.254 (talk) 08:42, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Update on Draft:Marie Schrader
I ran it through AFC but a review appears to be denying it based on the sole fact that relevant content already exists on List of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul characters. Any ideas on how to proceed?--Prisencolin (talk) 05:40, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
- Prisencolin, yes I know. The same way Lalo Salamanca passed the AfC. At that time, the "Conception and development" had good level of sourced content, and the "Fictional character biography" section was complete with sources. Do you know of a search engine that is filtered to search only American newspapers/websites? That way we could find more sources for Marie. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:45, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
- I believe some of these websites may be what you're looking for.--Prisencolin (talk) 05:51, 22 April 2020 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!

I congratulate you for your ninth year anniversary as a Wikipedian. You have been amazing and has been the pillar of several Tamil film articles. You have written quality film articles and also manages to upload the images of films. I also heard about your temporary ban in December 2019 and it was unfortunate. Despite the odds you have come back strongly and your contributions to Wikipedia are always welcome and valuable. I hope you will continue your efforts to create quality articles in Wikipedia. The movie poster which u have reverted to is the hindi poster not the telugu poster for the film — Preceding unsigned comment added by GODUBNATION (talk • contribs) 15:07, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
- GODUBNATION, then find a Telugu poster with the release date (or at least something like Releasing Today)! Kailash29792 (talk) 15:10, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
Why does it need the release date — Preceding unsigned comment added by GODUBNATION (talk • contribs) 15:19, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
Gentleman Poster
Stop Changing the poster since the poster is way too small for the reader to notice. That is why i am changing it --GODUBNATION (talk) 15:14, 27 April 2020 (UTC)
- Posters should be small to comply with WP:NFCC. At least use a poster showing the film's theme. --Kailash29792 (talk) 15:37, 27 April 2020 (UTC)
Joy Badlani
This actor seems to be infiltrating Wikipedia with false credits in Indian films. How do we fix this? The Wikipedia page shows that he is not a notable Bengali actor (his wikipedia page can be deleted). TamilMirchi (TALK) 18:16, 27 April 2020 (UTC)
- TamilMirchi, please ask Cyphoidbomb. He has dealt with the IP adding Badlani's name to most films. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:17, 27 April 2020 (UTC)
