Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. Information icon Please don't change the format of dates. As a general rule, if an article has evolved using predominantly one format, the dates should be left in the format they were originally written in, unless there are reasons for changing it based on strong national ties to the topic. Please also note that Wikipedia does not use ordinal suffixes (e.g., st, nd, th), articles, or leading zeros on dates.

For more information about how dates should be written on Wikipedia, please see this page.

If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on Wikipedia. Thank you. Martin451 (talk) 19:55, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 00:07, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Blocks

[edit]

Thanks for spotting User:Lorry3004's repeated insertion of advertsements. You're doing a very nice job spotting these things. I've just blocked him. Since we want to react as rapidly as possible, it helps a little more if next time you see something like this, use a Level 4im "only warning" and report immediately to AIV (or contact me or another admin who's active at the time). Thanks for adding the metric weather conversions to Rock Hill. Metric conversions should be done using a conversion template. If you look at the edit I made following yours you'll see how I did it. All the best. Magnolia677 (talk) 10:58, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Javascript mysteries

[edit]

I did some experiments with Javascript, based on code from your metric/imperial scripts.

Some weird things happened.

I've posted some questions at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Trials and tribulatons in Javascript. The Transhumanist 15:56, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

RfA candidate poll

[edit]

Regarding the RfA candidate poll you started: have you followed any of the advice from your first poll? If you have, you should be able to determine if your readiness for administrative privileges has changed at all. isaacl (talk) 05:40, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am NOT considering adminship. I am just curious about these things sometimes. --TheSpaceFace Let's Chat 17:50, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
    • Note the instructions on the poll page tell you what you should do if you want feedback but are not considering requesting administrative privileges. Additionally, when you asked for feedback the first time, it was assumed that you would read it and give it due consideration. It's not the best approach to ask others to invest time and effort in giving you feedback a second time if you aren't ready to follow up on the provided comments. isaacl (talk) 21:07, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
