AFD Snow keeps

Thanks for doing the close. Just as you did the Gold Cup ones, I was working on a half-hour edit, that I got an edit conflict for - so I've added one of them anyhow. Also you didn't remove the AFD notice from the articles! Thanks again Nfitz (talk) 22:11, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Nfitz: Working on removing the AFD notices now. Glad to help! — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 22:12, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Great! Nfitz (talk) 22:28, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • I just became aware of this because of a post on my talk page by Nfitz. Announcing those AfDs at your project and then snow NAC closing them is absolutely unacceptable. --Randykitty (talk) 08:04, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    @Randykitty: I did not announce any of those AFDs at WT:FOOTY, nor was I involved in either the AFDs or the articles in question in any way, shape, or form before I performed my analysis. I presume that then means I was WP:UNINVOLVED, but if you still have a problem with the closures or my actions you can file at WP:DRV and WP:ANI. The issue at hand with those closures seems to be that a reviewer would leave feedback that an article required improvement on an editor's talk page or with canned edit summaries, but nothing was left on the article's talk page for any subsequent editor to understand what was happening. There is also an ANI discussion after which the reviewer claims that the only resolution for a disputed redirect or draftification is AFD with no other attempts at obtaining consensus, which seems to run completely at odds with WP:AFDISNOTCLEANUP. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 16:14, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • The AfDs were announced here and snow closing it within a day without giving other editors than those participating in the project the chance to comment is bad practice. On top of that, you NAC closed these. If you continue do this kind of thing, you'll most certainly will end up at ANI. I strongly recommend that you undo your closures. --Randykitty (talk) 16:50, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    @Randykitty: As I said, I was UNINVOLVED and DRV and ANI are available for you if you wish. I stand by my actions and I am prepared to defend them. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 17:13, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • There's nothing wrong with announcing AFD at a project, as per guidelines, User:Randykitty! Under WP:CANVASSING, section WP:APPNOTE notes that editors CAN can place a message at "The talk page or noticeboard of one or more WikiProjects or other Wikipedia collaborations which may have interest in the topic under discussion". Why don't you think that applies? Nfitz (talk) 23:13, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Pending changes protection

Yo. Thanks for confirming the C. J. Stroud edits. I'm not too sure on who to ask about this but do you know where I could apply to become a pending changes reviewer? HappyBoi3892 (talk) 01:30, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@HappyBoi3892: You can request additional permissions at WP:PERM. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 01:39, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Luke Brennan (soccer), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Native American. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Edits from a user with an ID adress

Hi, there's a user with an ID adress who has made several changes across pages, especially, related to qualifications to football tournaments at the 2024 Olympics : this user : 2806:2A0:1520:816A:0:0:0:6A36. I see that you have reverted several of their edits but there are more : like this one on the Football at the 2024 Summer Olympics : this one. Do you think we should keep their edits ? I thnink that's a pity that they delete the images of the stadias, but what your opinion ? Pindrice (talk) 07:26, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This ID adress too 2806:2A0:1520:816A:0:0:0:9EDC : they are the same person. Pindrice (talk) 07:41, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Pindrice: I saw the edit on the Summer Olympics article but did not revert at the time because I was in the middle of something else. I see you have reverted, but if such edits continue I will escalate at the user's talk page and WP:RFPP. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 16:20, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Jkudlick: : Sorry to bother you with that but I have another question. The user ShopperSignal78 removed all the redirects for 2030 FIFA World Cup qualification (CAF), 2030 FIFA World Cup qualification (CONCACAF), 2030 FIFA World Cup qualification (CONMEBOL), 2030 FIFA World Cup qualification (UEFA), 2030 FIFA World Cup qualification (OFC) and 2030 FIFA World Cup qualification (AFC) : isn't it way too early for that ? I mean, the 2026 qualifications for some part of the World has still not begun... so I find very premature to deal with 2030 yet.
Pindrice (talk) 11:59, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Pindrice: It is far too early for this. I'll revert. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 16:05, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

AFC U-23 Asian Cup Stadium Listings (Thanks for cleaning up)

Self-Trouted

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

I have been trouted for: not performing my due diligence before slapping a template on an IP editor for performing what was actually a good faith attempt to fix something. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 16:25, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

I noticed you warned an IP address for unconstructive edits to Bill Murray. He has continued to violate BLP policy since you left that warning. A.FLOCK (talk) 02:50, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm so sorry I didn't intend to ruin the page by removing the links, in addition I have checked the words limit on the site Word Counter and the site had marked exactly 699 words when I have translate from italian-english (USA) how can I let the edits pass? Good evening Mr./Mrs. Jkudlick

Good evening Mr./Mrs. Jkudlick I noticed that you cancelled my edit to the Sonic X season 1 summary, could you please tell me what is wrong with my adjustment? This time I followed the maximum allowed word limit guidelines( it is 699 words I have double checked) and did not put incitements to violence is it possible to try to fix it together explaining to me where I went wrong this time please? Crystal890 (talk) 01:24, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Crystal890: I'm not sure where you saw a word limit to your edits, but I have personally made edits including well over 1,000 words. I would suggest that you seek consensus for your proposed change at Talk:Sonic X. The changes you are proposing remove links to other Wikipedia articles without providing a reason why you are removing them. They also appear, at least to me, to change the context of the summary. Getting assistance from other experienced editors will help you learn the editing policies and guidelines. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 01:38, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Can I try again and put particularly attention to don't eliminate the links please? Crystal890 (talk) 01:58, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Crystal890: Yes, you may try again. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 02:02, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know how to fix the error message on the goalscoring section ? I can't reconcile when i look at the associated module : Module:Goalscorers/data/2026 FIFA World Cup qualification (AFC) ;

Lua error in Module:Goalscorers at line 616: attempt to compare string with nil.

Seems to be fixed now. Matilda Maniac (talk) 14:00, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you just reverted a pending change to this article but did not leave a reason. I was looking at the same pending change and wonder what your reasons were. I would probably have also rejected the edit:

the first two citations seem to be a circular reference to a Wikipedia.de article (according to a reviewer at the cited source host website)
all references are to primary sources rather than to scholarly critical sources.

When reverting a pending change, especially cited text, I think it important to give feedback to the contributor. — Neonorange (talk to Phil) (he, they) 23:49, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

I'm new to Wikipedia. C is clearly a a compiled language be definition. A compiled language is typically compiled. There is not a single source on the internet ( including Wikipedia ) that would disagree with this fact. I don't understand why my edits are rejected. These rejections appear to be virtual territorialism via sock accounts with no basis in reality and are slowing the refinement of Wikipedia. If I am missing something please let me know. Chris.temp.level.0 (talk) 14:53, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Chris.temp.level.0: After your edit was reverted, the correct course of action at that point was to discuss your requested change at Talk:C (programming language) and seek consensus from other experienced editors. I probably would have accepted your proposed edit if it had not already been reverted, but the WP:BRD process is strongly encouraged after an initial reversion. I hope this helps. — Jkudlick ⚓ (talk) 15:33, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will attempt to to do what you suggest. I am seeking truth here; if I can't make minor obvious edits simply; I would like to understand why, I will try to get some traction with the link you provided, Thank you! Chris.temp.level.0 (talk) 16:09, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
