Louise Abeita Chewiwi

[edit]

Nice to start out the conversation by threatening to ban me. Too bad you didn't come to the funeral, had there been a coffin, you could have tipped it as you leaned over to tell her "there's no obit, you're fine..." To my knowledge, there has not been a death notice, or obit published, my cousins are in charge of that and I have no control over that aspect. Shall I get a death certificate and include a jpeg, or might I run afoul of your copyright enforcement? JesAbeita (talk) 16:52, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Rules are there to be adhered to - no exceptions! I can't believe there is not one news organisation out there, nor any of the websites that focus on Native American lit that don't want to publish this news. Get in touch with them and send them the death certificate! You have to understand that there has been to date thousands of false death claims on here, so we must be very strict. I don't know what part of that you don't understand? --Jkaharper (talk) 17:03, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Were were you when users edited in wrong info on who my great-grandfather is? (Louis, not Pablo Abeita, if it comes up again.) So, now it looks like some people did this http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSob=c&GSlh=1&GSsr=41&GRid=133252559&. Do you consider that "published?" Also, my cousins (my Auntie's kids) are in charge of the obit, this is just my thing- hate bad information pushed by outsiders. JesAbeita (talk) 17:30, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

FindAGrave or Legacy.com etc. are not considered good sources (because as like Wikipedia, anyone can edit them, anyone can create a page etc.) but it'll do for now until a better source comes along. And in answer to your first question - no, it wasn't me. The history log shows that the only edits I have made are to remove an unsourced date of death. All the best --Jkaharper (talk) 18:55, 24 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I wasn't suggesting you put the bad info out there that time, I just want to know why my, factually-accurate edit was jumped on (and why you threatened me with a ban off the bat,) while bad info stood for a long time (it's what prompted me to contribute time to this in the first place,) without similar intervention. Also, what do you do when published information is wrong? - it happens a lot in my areas of interest.
