The New York Times. listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect The New York Times.. Since you had some involvement with the The New York Times. redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 21:20, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

@Headbomb: This is "the newspaper of record" and is the most respected newspaper in the world. For most of its life, 116 years from its birth in 1851 until Ed Benguiat removed the period / dot / full stop February 21 1967, the period / dot / full stop was on the masthead and nameplate per http://typophile.com/node/19590. "The New York Times." was the full title on the masthead and nameplate from 1896 to 1967. I grew up with a book on my coffee table which documented the history of the world since 1851 through the lens of front pages of this newspaper (most of which had the original title), and I both delivered and read this newspaper when I was young. This redirect is in use by userpage draft User:Lit316/Eric Carle, Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Press, and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joe Courtney (politician), in no case added by me.   — Jeff G. ツ 21:59, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
If you follow the discussion, you'll see the nomination was withdrawn. No further action is needed. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 22:03, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
@Headbomb: Thanks, I spent some time composing and wanted to get it off my chest, but the Rfd was already closed when I was ready to post, so I posted here. If you have any concerns about my other pages, please discuss them with me first.   — Jeff G. ツ 22:09, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
Nothing specific with your pages per se, I'm mostly doing cleanup for WP:JCW/TAR and WP:MCW/TAR and bad redirects make that job harder to do, so I try to cull them when possible. Most dotted version of redirects are garbage, but this seem to be an exception to that rule. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 22:18, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

You're nominating them for deletion over here too! What a relief. :)

Now this really made my day. Together we can do it. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 03:07, 14 April 2018 (UTC)

@ToBeFree: Yes, only four, but perhaps this will give the Admins pause.   — Jeff G. ツ 03:18, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
