States you visited...

I know this is a rather absurd and irrelevant question, but have you ever visited Alaska or Hawaii? Capitalistmaniac (talk) 00:38, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

No, never, although I'd like to visit Alaska in Summer and Hawaii in Winter. Why do you ask?   — Jeff G.  ツ 04:28, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
Just random curiosity. :P Capitalistmaniac (talk) 04:27, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Mayani

Thanks for notifying me of the proposed deletion of Zacharia Mayani. Though he was clearly far outside the scholarly consensus, I think he's notable enough to include -- he's had books published by mainstream publishers, and occasionally gets mentioned. He is also almost certainly not a Living Person. He was born in 1899, so would be 110 years old now. The most recent publication activity I've seen by him is from the 1970's, I think. I looked but could not find an obituary. --Macrakis (talk) 22:08, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply. I beefed up some of the references, but the article is still quite small. I see you are self-described as "fr-4" and "French (fluent)" — I do not read or write the French language, but maybe there is better information in that language for an encyclopedia article about the subject in the Wikipedia for that language.   — Jeff G.  ツ 22:15, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Regarding Zecharia Mayani

Re: your post. I am afraid I know nothing regarding the aforementioned person and cannot therefore give any input regarding the deletion of the article. Sorry. --Île flottante (talk) 14:55, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

CSD on Nanologica AB

Just a note to say that I have removed the CSD tag which you placed on Nanologica AB because the article does make a claim to significance which may be credible: "They are the world’s leading developers and producers of mesoporous silica particles". I am not an admin, but I understand that any average editor can remove CSD tags that are not on articles that they created. The article may not meet the notability guidlines, and as yet, does not reliably source the claim to significance, so maybe an AFD is in order. Thanks, Quasihuman (talk) 17:51, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

I concur that an AFD is in order - please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nanologica AB.   — Jeff G.  ツ 00:53, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Email

Did you receive the email? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 18:47, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

Yes, I did, thanks, but I haven't had time to respond.   — Jeff G.  ツ 00:24, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Page moves

I see a whole bunch of page moves with no discussion by a user with a sock tag on his userpage. Just thought I should bring it to your attention. CC: Neutralhomer. [1] Anna Frodesiak (talk) 21:19, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the notice, I opined on both user talk pages.   — Jeff G.  ツ 23:19, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Dayle Hinman.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Dayle Hinman.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. We hope (talk) 05:01, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
