Kirby's Dream Land

[edit]

Sorry to bother you with TOO much Kirby stuff, but do you wanna help work on the KDL article? I've done some work, but it probably could use a bit better grammar and spelling etc. and it needs to have the development, sound, and visuals sections expanded. - A Link to the Past (talk) 19:26, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try to find the time to work on it, I can certainly see many avenues for improvement. I've added it to my watchlist for now. Why not nominate it for WP:GCOTW? You've got my support vote (two votes is usually enough to get a GCOTW nominated :) JACOPLANE • 2007-03-3 19:48
Couldn't hurt. And thanks!
Also, I've decided I want to keep Kirby as a WikiProject. While it is true that there's a lot of projects coming into existence, if this project were merged into the CVG project, it'd become a small pond in a big fish... or however the saying goes! - A Link to the Past (talk) 00:00, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DRV

[edit]

Do you think we'll get anywhere if NFSXI is sent to DRV? Hbdragon88 07:22, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I do think so, and am planning to take it there tomorrow when I've got the time. JACOPLANE • 2007-03-5 21:44

Now that I've looked into NFSXI in more detail (having been drawn into a long discussion that resulted in a WP:30), it's even worse than I thought. The only source for this "game" is NFS Planet, a fan site; the rest are just forums, blogs, and comment sections. If I had it my way I'd stub it down to "NFSXI is a rumored game" but MrStalker thinks that citing personal websites and saying that "it's a rumor" is good enough. Fair use rationale for Image:Staredit.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Staredit.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. KonstableSock 09:40, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

all out of the nothing but i'm really wondering what you're up to. x maja

Concerning your Admin Coaching assignments

[edit]

Your name is still listed at Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Volunteers. The department is heavily backlogged with student's requests for coaches, and we need your help!

Note that the instructions may have changed since the last time you checked, and the department now follows a self-help process...

If you don't currently have a student, or if you believe you can handle another one, please select a student from the request list at Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Requests and contact them. See the instructions on Wikipedia:Admin coaching. Good luck.

If you are no longer available to coach, , please remove yourself from the volunteers list.

Thank you. The Transhumanist    03:22, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Heya

[edit]

Hi. User:Garygarfield (User talk:Garygarfield|talk) was blocked almost a year ago by User:Curps on account of a single instance of vandalism. The user has given a clarification that he was testing how prompt we are in catching vandalism. While its true that vandalism is a big pain in the ass, its also true that many new users do this test to gain confidence in the system and before becoming a part of us. Thats why we have the warnings, isn't it? But he was blocked indefinitely without any warning or notification whatsoever that he might be blocked. (While the user is a friend of mine is immaterial; when he brought the issue to my notice, I felt there has been a misuse of admin privileges by User:Curps).

Its not my point to judge the misuse, if any. I believe User:Curps was acting in good faith. I would have taken the issue directly with him, but he seems to have gone off. So, I request you to please take a look at the block and overturn it if you deem it right? Thanks a lot. Cya around.

I got it resolved.

Btw, are you interested in Cricket? --soumসৌমোyasch 13:58, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Heya, sorry I didn't respond before, I was away for a few days. Cricket? Well not so much, I'm more of a football person. I guess if Holland was not so terrible I'd be more into it :) JACOPLANE • 2007-03-19 21:12
They weren't that bad day before yesterday :) Just that their lack of experience showed!. Anyways, cya around. --soumtalk 02:40, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Technology demo a ... video game?

[edit]

Can you please explain your edit here? --Gmaxwell 17:23, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it's in Category:Video game genres... JACOPLANE • 2007-03-20 17:44
But it's not a video game genre. No doubt it got the category through a different thoughtless edit. Can you please correct your errors and be more careful? --Gmaxwell 03:32, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Updates to Alizee article

[edit]

Hey, I have been working on updating the Alizee article (on the lines of what I told you earlier). Its awfully close to being done, and will merge into the main article within a day or two. Please take an early look at the new revision. Thanks. Waiting your opinion on the changes. :) --soumtalk 17:52, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Hyrulecastle_minishcap.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hyrulecastle_minishcap.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Revived discussion concerning fair use in portals

[edit]

I am contacting everyone who participated in the discussion that became inactive in December. Due to the length of the previous discussion, I have proposed a new amendment and you like you to weigh in so that we may actually have a consensus on this matter as it doesn't seem there exists one either way. -ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria

Thanks

[edit]

Hey thanks for dealing with the shorcut for TF:DMC, I was about to deal with it but I was still working with the project page, so thanks again. -DDF 00:35, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you not tell the same thing to the more experienced editor? I told my reason in my edit summary. Ibn Shah 20:10, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate your advice but you must be even-handed. Ibn Shah 20:20, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alizee article

[edit]

Hi. The article is quite stable at the moment, and is not to be shaken up much till her third album released. As you suggested sometime in history, we should take it to an FA - it should point out the deficiencies. What do you think? --soum (0_o) 21:21, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Wikiproject Musicians page layout guide seems to be suggesting the layout of an atricle to have the lead followed by early life, career, and then personal life sections. But I think they should be subsections of the Biography section. Structuring this way gives more semantical information to the page layout. What do you think? I am thinking on the lines of raising this issues with the wikiproject as well. --soum (0_o) 10:31, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have listed it for a [Wikipedia:Peer review/Alizée|peer review]]. --soum (0_o) 10:56, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE from Hybrid

[edit]

Yes, they are basically them same thing. I just find blank spaces when editing a section annoying, personally. What you have is fine, though. Peace, -- The Hybrid 18:32, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Devil May Cry Task Force

[edit]

A million thanks for your work on Devil May Cry Task Force's main page I was going to deal with it but yesterday I was focused in improving the Devil May Cry article so it can be nominated for Good Article, so thanks again! -DDF 19:44, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FAC

[edit]

I have nominated Alizée for FA evaluation. You may want to take a look. --soum (0_o) 04:19, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot

[edit]

Thank you very much, both for the barnstar and the great support you have given me in my RfA. As for the article, nothing better than it passing the FAC. :) And no, its not my own job. Your contribs and ideas were phenomenal in getting it to where it is. So, once it an FA, its time to celebrate together. :) Sure, looking forward to collaborating on other articles as well. --soum (0_o) 07:14, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, my RfA was successful and I have been promoted. Thanks a ton for the support and faith you have shown in there - its really appreciated. --soum (0_o) 08:15, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I dont really "use" Twitter. I have an account over there (same username) but I have not used it. Do you use it? --soum (0_o) 12:55, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Added you as a friend, in case I start using it sometime down the line. :) Btw, I see you are in France. On vac? --soum (0_o) 19:27, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. I am signing off now. Just came to know that Bangladesh is making sure Australia wont win the cricket world cup (they seem to be beating South Africa, and if they do so, SA has to face Australia in the semis. From there, no way will SA let Aussies through again). Havta see that match. Catch ya l8r. Btw, I will be in Lyon/Marseille during September. Lemme know if you happen to visit then. :) --soum (0_o) 19:45, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, Bangladesh doesn't have it in them to beat SA. Anyways, I added you as friend in Orkut. Btw, whats that play? --soum (0_o) 20:11, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
He he, you must have had great time. :P
Seriously, cricket isn't that complicated. (I find football way much convoluted :D) but yeah the WC format could be simpler. Super 8 is just a replacement for the Quarter finals stage. Earlier, when there were 12 teams competing, 6 teams used to go to the second phase. Since QF needs 8 teams, that wasnt possible. So these teams played each other and the top 4 went to the semis. Back then, it was super 6. Now that participation has increased to 16, top 8 go to the second stage, which is now Super 8. Theres nothing mystical about it.
You are right, given that India is out, its my job to make sure that Aussies (who have won the last two WCs, and who have bothered all other teams, including India, for the past two years) do not win this third time, and I am ready to pledge my full support to anyone who has the best chance of doing that - SA, if they have their day. And its SA only which, if they play semis against Aussies, can prevent them from going to the finals.
Hope you didnt get bored. :D --soum (0_o) 00:33, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
