I am fairly new to Wiki editing but after spending several hours reading up on Cole Swindell and finding too little info on him, I felt that his story needed more fleshing out. Everything I wrote I provided sources for -- reliable sources. They included his Father's obituary and the Tennessean article interviewing the artist about his song. While I was actively typing and editing you and another user undid an hour's worth of work. I don't understand why. Please explain. Here are those sources that I attempted to cite (I included the <ref> codes in everything I wrote. 1) Obituary 2) Tennessean interview

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Outlaw Ways, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Country song. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

STOP

[edit]

Stop changing bro-country songs back to country song, like Hope you get lonely, hicktown, when she says Baby, and Gonna know we were here. They are clearly bro-country. --168.235.80.144 (talk) 22:40, 25 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

According to this interview (around the 7 minute mark), a new Chase Rice single should be out in January and could be a song called "Whisper". Eric444 (talk) 00:24, 3 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Meat and Candy

[edit]

Please don't use subgenres like "bro-country" in articles without a source. Meat and Candy has been well-received by critics, indicating that a derogatory term like "bro-country" doesn't fit, despite what Saving Country Music might say. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 02:04, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Saving Country Music, is my source and it's somewhat reliable. My main sources for Bro-country also include Country Universe and Farce The Music, --Jack Gaines (talk) 15:20, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Farce the Music is a parody blog and not a RS in any way. I wouldn't say SCM is unreliable, but I think it is biased as hell. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 02:55, 28 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, but I'll leave it as Country. I mostly use reviews from SCM and Country Universe though. --Jack Gaines (talk) 15:37, 28 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting reviews

[edit]

I noticed that you deleted a number of reviews claiming that they are biased. Please note that this is not a valid reason for deleting reviews - a review is a reflection of the writer's opinion, therefore it is intrinsically biased to that person. Pleased read WP:BIASED (reliable sources are not required to be neutral, unbiased, or objective), and Wikipedia is not some place where negative reviews are to be deleted. There are a number of reasons why a review may be deleted, such as notability of the website (for example personal blogs not associated with a news outlet or magazine), but being biased is not a valid reason. Hzh (talk) 14:02, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ten Pound Hammer told me that the websites were biased, which is why I decided they were deleted. They aren't that reliable. --Jack Gaines (talk) 19:50, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that a site is biased is not a really a valid reason for deletion, however a site that is not considered reputable reliable can be deleted. Therefore if you think Country Perspective, Saving Country Music or other sites are not credible sources, then that is the reason you should use if you want to delete them (Country Perspective for example started as a personal blog, therefore you may argue that it is not a reliable site). The guidelines for music reviews can be found in WP:MOS-ALBUM. There are not many country sources listed in WP:ALBUM/SOURCE, and it is a matter of judgement whether you want to use other less reliable sites. I would rather to have no review at all then have one or two from such less reliable sites, and longish quote from them should be avoided. Hzh (talk) 21:46, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bro-country

[edit]

Please stop changing the genres of every song to "bro-country". Just because a male country artist released it does not make it bro-country. "Crash My Party" is barely bro, and "I Love This Life" isn't either. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 05:09, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I co-sign this. You really need to calm the eff down on changing the genres on everything. CloversMallRat (talk) 06:29, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Same here. Just a couple of uses of terms like 'beer', 'truck', etc. don't make a song "bro". Daerl (talk) 09:33, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jesus Christ, can you not? You've been told by multiple people, multiple times now to cool it with all the bro-country edits. Most of them are incorrect and you're going totally overboard with it (I mean really, labeling something like "My Eyes" bro-country is absolutely ridiculous). Please stop. CloversMallRat (talk) 09:32, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you always revert your own edits? You've edited articles like Jason Aldean, Tonight Looks Good on You, Old Boots, New Dirt and Fast Ryde dozens of times over just the last two months, repeatedly adding and removing the exact same information. Eric444 (talk) 18:38, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've wondered this myself as well. It's very puzzling and annoying when you keep changing the genres and such back-and-forth, particularly when you keep labeling everything under the sun bro-country in the process. CloversMallRat (talk) 18:24, 11 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Edits

[edit]

Seriously, why do you keep undoing your own edits? The revision histories of Jerrod Niemann, Blake Shelton, Jake Owen, Randy Houser, Fast Ryde, Tonight Looks Good on You, Night Train, The Only Way I Know, Jason Aldean, Canaan Smith, Chris Lane, Colt Ford, Trace Adkins, Cole Swindell and so on are full of you changing their genres back and forth on an almost daily basis with no explanation and at this point it just looks like vandalism.
