Yarrr. Here be all the scallywags who dared leave a message on my talk page in February 2006. Yarrrrrrr, matey.

I removed your speedy deletion tag from this article as it was not from a commercial content provider (also, next time you tag something as copyvio, please provide the URL). I logged it with WP:CP instead. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 23:07, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've been a busy bee...

[edit]

... Heidenheim an der Brenz is now posted out there to be looked at and over. (I've also put it on the list of completed translations/ready for proofreading on the de:en page, so if you don't have the time, or don't feel like it, you're welcome to skip this one. Remember, I'll need you on the really big one.)  :) --Mmounties 04:12, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The subsections under history for boroughs came from another article. And there were only articles on two of th boroughs. We may want to not format it as an "official" subsection and just make it part of the main history section. That might look better. --Mmounties 00:04, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Posted and out there. :) --Mmounties 01:05, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So...

[edit]

So..... as being a former vandal, I regret what I did, so how do I help revert vandalism? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.96.23.7 (talkcontribs)

A nice place to start would be to get a user name :-) JHMM13 (T | C) 21:56, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

German Wikipedians' noticeboard

[edit]

Hello! I noticed your name at Mmounties' Talk page, and would like to inform you that a noticeboard has been established to better aid discussion of articles concerning German-related topics. Feel free to participate with the project if you are interested! Olessi 01:27, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, word of mouth works well around here... The notice board was moved to Wikipedia:German-speaking Wikipedians' notice board. --Mmounties 16:12, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heilbronn

[edit]

Thanks for that nice note on the Bruchsal talk page. I posted Heilbronn last night. Gettin' better all the time.... --Mmounties 02:04, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comments. I appreciate it. The administrator, reverted his prior decision and reposted my article to the FAC page. If you like it, please vote "support". Thanks again! --Jayzel68 02:48, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

thanks +

[edit]

Thanks, and plus... If I may ask you a question, how you do your signature? I hope it's not copy & paste, cuz I wish I had a way to do it as simple as using tildes or the button on top. :)

I'd also love to be able to change the timestamp default on my signature... Hmm... Ha, maybe it's in my settings! :P

--Cacumer 12:21, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

also

[edit]

I kinda knew about using links with context. I think I might have used too much on you, maybe, but you never know when it's too much or too little for an article unless you try it for yourself and other people just come in and fix for themselves so we have a real wiki page! :D

Just something to reflect about... ;)

--Cacumer 12:24, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can you post something there in support of my request? Thanks. --Mmounties 18:17, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like they'll change it to 90%, same as the Infobox Town DE. Thank you for your help. --Mmounties 22:29, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Kein Problem, Frau Schnitzelgruebenmeisterhavenfoerstergraben. Kein Problem. JHMM13 (T | C) 04:13, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Slander

[edit]

Stop slandering me please...Inanna 00:26, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have never slandered you, but since it has been pretty well-proven that you often use sockpuppets to vandalize and violate 3RR, I'm not really taking this one too personally. JHMM13 (T | C) 05:37, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi mate,

I noticed that you have the image of a flag (well, two) imbedded in your signature. Unfortunately, this violates WP:SIG and I would accordingly suggest you remove the image. I used to have a flag in my sig too, until someone recently pointed out WP:SIG to me too!

Sorry to be so negative! See you around, DJR (Talk) 21:48, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for the message. As it is, WP:SIG is only a guideline, and not a Wikipedia policy. It is, therefore, a reccomendation for conduct, but violation of these guidelines are not against Wikipedia policy...they're sort of just unwritten rules. Here's the section on images:
There are several objections to having images in signatures. In particular, they are said to cause server slowdown, and to serve no purpose in an encyclopedia project other than vanity in addition to making pages more difficult to read. There have been some calls for banning them entirely; some people have objected to such a ban, arguing it would stifle creativity.
I'm in the second group there. I don't think the images in my sig really drag the server all that badly, and I think when people see the U.S. and German flags next to each other, they know better with whom they're dealing. Please feel free to respond in my talk page. Thanks, JHMM13 (T | C) 23:13, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your response - fair enough! All the best, DJR (Talk) 23:19, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, JH

[edit]

JH, thanks for responding to my email and giving me pointers on how to label the adult database. It's folks like you that're making me happy about joining the wikipedia community. Best, - c —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coolmojito (talkcontribs)

You're welcome, and once again, thanks for the nice email. Often when I get emails from Wikipedia users, it's because what they have to say is too insulting to be on Wikipedia itself. Always be sure to come back to my talk page if you want to discuss anything or if you have a question. JHMM13 (T | C) 05:07, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your German wiki experience

[edit]

Hi JHMM13,

I'm from Australia but I speak German to a fair degree of fluency. I have a userpage on the german wiki and sometimes I post articles and make edits, but for the most part I just get reverted or nominated for deletion because of the language barrier, that becomes especially evident in formal writing. Have you had a similar experience? How do you get by on the german wiki? Bobby1011 06:24, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Eh, du musst nicht so hoefflich sein. Du kannst mich ja natuerlich duzen. I find that the german wikipedians just don't have the tolerance to put up with any mistakes with repsect the their language. Naja, deutsche Gruendlichkeit. I had one editor go through my a large number of articles in my history and either reword every sentence or make a nomination for deletion. Krass na. He even called my article about de:Ad nauseam sprachlicher Murks. I now avoid doing anything on the german wiki unless it really needs it. Thanks for the referal to your mum, I'll drop her a line too. Bobby1011 15:13, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
