Block of Iaof2017

You just blocked Iaof2017, but that user was reverting a long-term vandal. The person was not being disruptive; rather, they were protecting the wiki and were acting admirably.

The long-term vandal is User:Dealer07, using IPs from Greece. Dealer07 is a nationalistic Greek who makes lots of changes to nationality in music articles. See Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Dealer07.

Please reconsider the block. Binksternet (talk) 15:23, 6 June 2022 (UTC)

Reconsidered and unblocked. Oz\InterAct 15:28, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
Oz The other users were leaving only the Albanian side though and removing the Greek one on purpose. In your place, I would reconsider again. 79.167.107.179 (talk) 15:30, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
I reacted to a report on IAV, but I will take Binksternet's word, a well known vandalism fighter, over an IP. Please seek content dispute for the case at hand. Oz\InterAct 15:34, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
As you wish. Next time check more carefully the objective version of the story though as there is mounting evidence on history one side of person's ancestry/nationality was continously removed on purpose. 79.167.107.179 (talk) 15:36, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
Sure, I always strive to be better. Thanks for the input. Oz\InterAct 15:40, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for unblocking Iaof2017. I strongly oppose any kind of tolerance to disruptive editing, especially in highly contested areas such as the Balkans. However, in this case Iaof2017 did the same revert that was done there by other editors too, including an admin. Furthermore, an editor with 31k+ edits and 41 GAs should not be blocked for a week without a shorter prior block for a naive conflict, IMO. Cheers, Ktrimi991 (talk) 15:52, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
I agree, however they have a shorter prior block which is why I opted for 1 week. Anyhow, I hope you resolve the situation amicably. Oz\InterAct 15:57, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
The shorter block was almost 2 years ago for an unrelated thing. I have seen many cases where an editor is blocked for a short period of time, say 24 hours, and then if the same mistake is done again, a longer block is applied and so on. The IP got blocked so it seems that the issue has been solved. Cheers, Ktrimi991 (talk) 16:00, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
I shall endeavour to look more closely in the future. Oz\InterAct 16:04, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
No worries, when there are many reverts on an article, understanding what is happening is not easy. I have seen a good number of similar cases, it is part of the messy Balkan disputes - anyone can find themselves in such situations. Ktrimi991 (talk) 16:10, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
