Monterey Peninsula

[edit]

Hi Highspeed. I am puzzled about how this edit to Monterey Peninsula makes the article less clear. Can you help me by explaining please? At present the article seems to lack a description of the physical geography of the peninsula. Thanks for your help. Nurg (talk) 08:58, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit THREE ZERO TWO a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. What do you propose as a solution? It would not allow a MOVE to the new page name because of a BLACKLIST error. But I know there is nothing wrong with the title. And it allows a new page with the name used, just not a move. Any info welcomed & appreciated! Highspeed (talk) 05:44, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You might want to ask an admin. --Vincent Liu (something to say?) 05:58, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The article history was merged by an admin, so all is clear. --Vincent Liu (something to say?) 06:14, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Goddess

[edit]

Hi there regarding your undo of the edits adding Joanna Weinberg, please note she was incorrectly omitted and her inclusion re Music and underlying work is merely correcting the credits. Thankyou. Luh3417 (talk) 01:42, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Highspeed.Verification on behalf of Luh23417 as follows: Joanna Weinberg was the co-writer of the music for Goddess you are welcome to check this with the Producer http://thefilmcompany.com.au/?personnel=richard-keddie-5. It is based on her one woman stage play as hasd been reported in Sinksongs.http://www.svhamstra.com/NEWS2006/NewsAUS06AugWeinburg.shtml See also filmlink here http://www.filmink.com.au/notices/6911/ "Based on the 1996 cult hit one-woman show, 'Sink Songs' by Joanna Weinberg, 'Goddess' is a feel-good musical full of catchy, original songs, vibrant dance routines and a cast of unforgettable characters."121.45.177.104 (talk) 04:37, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. Just saw your message. I added the above info and I hope that now verifies things.Luh3417 (talk) 04:41, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The ref to Sinksongs can be verified by the film link article. Because it is a live show based on an unpublished stage play there is no Publisher or ISBN. I believe that should satisfy Wikipedia rules re sources for that. That Joanna Weinberg co-wrote the music for the Film is in part verified by the source that she wrote the original music upon which it is based. The fact is she also co-wrote the music for the Film with Bryony Marks. Will you now let me make the edit and allow it to stay if I show the Film Link source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Luh3417 (talkcontribs) 05:24, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Hope that is OK now. Thanks for the advice. Luh3417 (talk) 06:04, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You would know why the rating names in equipment operator had been de-capitalised if you had read the edit summary, which pointed you to WP:MILTERMS. I've reverted your revert and will make a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests to have it moved back over the redirect. Shem (talk) 21:02, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Seabee

[edit]

Would you give me that date of that edit please. Deleting units and histories sounds odd to me but in looking you are absolutely correct there are types missing- Special Construction Battalions SCBs, Construction Battalion Maintenance Units CBMUs, Construction Battalion Detachments CBDs and Underwater Construction Teams UCTs. I really do not want to re-do all that writing so thank you. Mcb133aco (talk) 02:30, 29 August 2017 (UTC)Mcb133acoMcb133aco (talk)[reply]

I am done. The UDT section was the last bit I intended to do until you pointed out my mistake. But, since you asked and mention size. My thoughts are: the section on decommissioned units should go. There are only six active Battalions remaining, so the list is vastly incomplete. There are also images I would remove.

Thank you for pointing out my error and your time.Mcb133aco (talk) 03:00, 30 August 2017 (UTC)Mcb133acoMcb133aco (talk) 03:00, 30 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, in the future, if you could add a ref when you update articles, it would be appreciated. Otherwise, your edits could be reverted which would just be a waste of time for everyone. Thanks - wolf 18:33, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
