[edit]
Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Glen (talk) 11:28, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I am an employee at Gold Star Line Limited. I receive no compensation. This is merely an article regarding my company in Wikipaedia zone for information to the public, like all other corporates. I confirm that whatever in the article is not intended as promotional or advertising material and I confirm that all the information is valid, neutral and true. If that does not seem to be the case, I assure you that I will be more careful about the tone set in the future. I was unaware of the username policy and I apologise for that. Upon unblocking of this account, I intend to further provide more neutral information on the company, purely as an informative page like all the shipping companies in the world.

Decline reason:

You will not be unblocked simply to edit about your company or other areas in which you have a conflict of interest. What would you edit if unblocked if you're not allowed to edit about your company? only (talk) 10:48, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am a representitive of my company to create an article. How else am I supposed to create an article about my company? I have no conflict of interest. If people at the company don't write an article about the company, then who will? If you mean I need to edit at least 10 articles to build a reputation on Wikipaedia, then I will do so.

Decline reason:

You are not supposed to create an article about your company. Yes, of course you have a conflict of interest. If your company satisfies the notability requirements of WP:NCORP and attracts in-depth coverage in reliable sources, someobody independent of the company might write an article about it, just like most company articles are created. Wikipedia is not interested in what companies want to say about themselves. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:15, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

By working for the company and calling it "my company", you're literally demonstrating your conflict of interest. If your company is notable, other editors may eventually make the article if they realize it not being an article here is a gap in the encyclopedia. only (talk) 11:09, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Excuse me but I think you are misunderstanding this issue. It is a notable company.[1]. Just because I work for the company, does not automatically mean I am biased as all the information are facts. It is like disregarding all autobiographies just because you automatically assume they are promotional rather than factual as "you are not interested in hearing what people have to say about themselves". Facts anyone can find dispersed in the news. This is just an attempt to consolidate all that so people see the history of the company in 1 place on Wikipedia.

Decline reason:

Then if your company is notable, someone else can create the article on it. You are missing the point however as to why you are still blocked. In addition to your user name, you have a direct conflict of interest with anything related to your company. RickinBaltimore (talk) 12:13, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Gsl.gslltd, the draft you wrote in your sandbox was blatantly promotional from start to finish, and was not remotely close to being acceptable as an encyclopedia article. You don't appear to have grasped it yet, but you are not going to be unblocked to write about your company. Maybe somebody will write a proper encyclopedia article about it some day, but it won't be you. So you should only make another unblock request if there is something else, something unrelated to your company, that you want to work on. If you make another unblock request that effectively just repeats your declined ones, or carries on making the same nonsensical claims that you have no conflict of interest, you are likely to lose access to this talk page too.
