Hi! I hope you are well! That would be a great article to start. I once knew a descendant of one of the founders. I'm surprised it isn't linked in Buena Vista, Oregon. I am back (who knows for how long) to speak up for tiny burgs. (and maybe highway junctions?!) Great job on the jetty article! I was at the North Yaquina jetty recently. I might have some OK photos. Hey, Valfontis! I'm good--Just recovering from cataract surgery, so seeing better, getting back into editing again. Believer it or not, I've had the "find sources" template on Oregon Pottery Company in my sandbox for ages, so your note came at a good time. Help with CEO draft

Hello again. Thank you for all your work on the draft of Jessica Rolph's article. I really appreciate all the time you have put in expanding and improving it. I am wondering if you need any additional information or if I can be of further assistance before you publish this draft in mainspace. Similarly, I am curious about your inclusion of some of the biographical information using ancestry.com as the reference. It is my understanding that this is not considered a reliable source on Wikipedia; I didn't include some of that information in my draft because I couldn't find good references for it. I'd be happy to rework some of the content based on the available sources if that would be helpful. Again, thanks for taking the time to work on this. Freddie at Lovevery, thanks for your note. The draft is close to publication, just needing to meet the requirements for "incoming links" (from other WP articles), a few more categories, and talk page links to various wikiprojects. I have time today to complete those requirements, so the article should be posted this evening.

Not required, but recommended, is a photo for the top of the infobox, which I'm hoping you can provide. It doesn't need to be a professional shot, and can even be a selfie. The least fraught process is for the photographer to login and use the upload wizard for Wikimedia. Copyright belongs to the photographer, even for professional portraits that have been paid for, and the license attached to the image must be either public domain or Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike (cc-by-sa). Photos may also be uploaded to WikiMedia from a free Flickr account (one of the options using the upload wizard), with attribution to the photographer, as long as the copyright designation on the image on Flickr is either public domain or cc-by-sa, and the photo does not appear anywhere else on the web or in print with a different copyright license.

You are asking the right questions about using ancestry.com, which has had a series of posts on the reliable sources noticeboard, and additionally appears with this entry on Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources: Ancestry.com is a genealogy site that hosts a database of primary source documents including marriage and census records. Some of these sources may be usable under WP:BLPPRIMARY, but secondary sources, where available, are usually preferred. Ancestry.com also hosts user-generated content, which is unreliable. I do not trust the census records, which are often carelessly indexed or from illegible original documents, and state records of births and marriages need to be checked to be sure the entries refer to the correct person of that name. Since there are secondary sources referring to Jessica Rohl being from Minnesota, I'm confident the ancestry.com records are usable.

I generally do not include children's names unless they are notable enough for their own Wikipedia article, out of privacy/protection concerns, but if their names are widely distributed on other sites or their parents feel strongly they should be included, their names can of course be restored to the text. − Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 18:39, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
