If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on George Haligua requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. UtherSRG (talk) 09:52, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article George Haligua, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. UtherSRG (talk) 09:53, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Is this really George Haligua or someone named Kevin Harris assuming this name as his Wikipedia ID? Because the comment at Talk:George Haligua makes it seem like the latter. And if Mr. Haligua really prizes his privacy, as is repeated in the article, well, the use of his name as your ID is a problematic choice, it seems to me. Your account has been blocked indefinitely because your username is an impersonation of a living person. Additionally, your edits about that same living person are clearly promotional in nature, in violation of our requirement of neutrality (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames, and trolling or other disruptive behavior is not tolerated.

If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Request reason:

The last time I had posted on Wiki was several years ago, I thought that using this username would be beneficial in writing the article, after reading on conflict of interests...I see the mistake, I would suggest two actions: to re-edit the said article on a more neutral point of view and register using another username. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank-you

Accept reason:

OK, I haven't unblocked you as such, because you can't keep this username to prevent confusion (or impersonation). You should now be able to create a new account, with a name in compliance with our policy and edit with that. I have also deleted the article per your suggestion below, under CSD G7. I can email you the content or move it to a subpage of your userpage ("userfication" or "userfying") if you'd like—it's not lost forever. As George Haliguais a real person, and is not you, you are absolutely prohibited from using his name as your username. So of your two suggestions, a username change is the only viable one. But before going down this route, under what name did you edit here before? --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 11:39, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Anthony, it's possible I used my own name, but that was several years ago and no longer on file. I would request that we delete the entire article and I'll follow your guidelines and the others stated above to post a new one. Thank-you for your assistance.
