Autopatrolled granted

[edit]

Hi GameRCrom, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:38, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You edited the article 17:08, 26 December 2020 adding a lot of text. But there's something wrong with the dates in section Thievery.

The date of the earthquake was 1667. In the section, 1686 is mentioned, then 1674. Then "between 1676 and 1674". Very confusing. The only thing that possibly makes sense is changing 1686 to 1668. And then being more conventional and ordering the dates as "between 1674 and 1676" would be nice. Shenme (talk) 04:01, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you bringing it to my attention, I've corrected the mistakes I made in the thievery section. GameRCrom (talk) 07:17, 23 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding NMMA

[edit]

Hi,

I noticed that you recently rejected this draft, with two of your arguments being: 1.) "The notability criteria hasn't yet been voted on my the majority of people." 2.) "Furthermore, if I'm not mistaken, the agreement was to consider fights from January 1, 2021"

Since I am new to Wikipedia, please explain the following:

Regarding 1) above, What's the point of having notability criteria if no consensus has been reached regarding them?

Regarding 2) above, Where can I see this agreement/discussion? How can new editors get to know about such agreements/where can they study them?

Thanks for your contributions!

Wickedwiki2 (talk) 17:50, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Wickedwiki2:, welcome to Wikipedia! I'd be happy to answer any questions you have.
Regarding to MMA notability, you can find it at NMMA. As it stands, a fighter must either have 3 fights with a top tier MMA organization (currently, it's only the UFC and Invicta), or be ranked in the top ten of their weight class by Fight Matrix or Sherdog. This is the notability criteria that's been agreed on by contributors in previous discussions. Unfortunately, Borics doesn't meet these requirements at the moment.
There was recently a discussion among the Wiki Project MMA contributors, whether or not Bellator should be considered as a top tier organization, which you can find here. I believe the discussion is concluded, and is currently underdoing voting, which you can also find by scrolling down a bit. That's what I meant by "The notability criteria hasn't yet been voted on my the majority of people." I apologize if I didn't clarify sufficiently.
Regarding your second question, if you keep contributing to Wiki project MMA you'll probably be pinged in future discussions. You can see other discussions on the project talk pages, for example the WP MMA talk page, or the WP MMA notability talk page.
Sincerely, GameRCrom (talk) 18:33, 31 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Apology

[edit]

I mean to apologize. I do not understand Wikipedia very well. I realized the circumstances and meant to delete my comment before you saw it. Thank you for clarifying to me, and I am sorry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thespearthrower (talkcontribs) 19:57, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There's really no need to be so apologetic. It's an easily understandable mistake and I hope you'll continue to contribute to wikipedia. If you ever need any help, please feel free to ask the more experienced users for advice. Cheers, GameRCrom (talk) 20:02, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

To exclude controversies posted by amateurs on certain forums. Prosport (the very big Romanian sports newspaper), Vechtsportinfo.nl (1.5 million monthly traffic), Madfight.pl etc are very serious sources written by martial arts journalists. Also some Japanese highlights for you, and that was not even all. It was a one-sided match. .karellian-24D 00:54, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think stating the result of the fight, while mentioning it was thought controversial by some, is more in line with WP:NPOV. Wikipedia is after all an encyclopedia where facts are stated from a neutral point of view, our own personal opinions shouldn't factor into it. GameRCrom 00:00, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Good evening my friend

[edit]

Some nuances. If he had not represented Romania in his career, he was a Romanian-born Spanish. Like here, I created this article: Vasile Usturoi.

Avoid placing "Romanians in Spain" and hypothetically "American of Croatian origin" in introduction. That goes to Biography. I usually say "he comes from the Indigenous community in Brazil" (Alex Pereira) at biography.

And Adesanya if he's representing Nigeria now, he's Nigerian-New Zealand because he has represented both of them.

Usually the Dutchmen are all Dutch-Moroccans, Dutch-Surinamese or Suriname-Dutch whatever, etc. I often remove the nationality status on the box, if they have represented both countries. Because it's enough to leave Dutch-Moroccan in introduction. Badr is not a Moroccan, he's Moroccan-Dutch. And with no link better to any of Morocco/Dutch.

People make mistakes for reasons or no reasons. I wasn't accurate myself because I remembered him from K-1, Muaythai and other events..karellian-24 (talk) 18:41, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

REGARDING RECORD, it's up to you if you want to keep those. It's very confusing and not worthy, pro level is totally different and those aren't at least major tournaments such as WAKO Euros and Worlds. But if I remember well, at least in Serbia and possibly also in Russia and Spain of course, they do more mature matches and seniors. A match with helmet is very different, to compare for instance a Mineev vs Vakhitov fight. For Romanians it is very confusing to see kickboxers fighting with helmets besides very young ages and some exceptions of fighters linked to foreign, international competitions. We also have semi-pro 3X2. Although probably in Serbia, maybe even Spain and Croatia, there are mature amateurs.

For MMA, when he is not a proper fighter, it would have been better to just have a link. It's confusing for the kickboxer to be a star, and still do MMA where he loses and ignorant fans don't think he's almost invincible.

Happy holidays! .karellian-24 (talk) 19:12, 5 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Finding Kickboxing Records

[edit]

Hey, I am just wondering what sources you use to add the kickboxing records for people, I understand finding the bouts for organizations like Glory, K-1, Rise, ONE, etc is simple but like for example Bogdan Shumarov you found a lot of bouts from smaller organizations. Is there a kickboxing database for kickboxing? HeinzMaster (talk) 13:36, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A kickboxing database sadly doesn't exist. I usually find fights by searching for them on YouTube, local news websites, fight promotion websites and so on. For example, I found some Shumarov fights on YouTube, some on BOEC or MMA.bg, some on Wikipedia, etc. GameRCrom (talk) 13:47, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Liu Ce

[edit]

Hey. I was thinking on creating an article on Liu Ce shortly after he won the K1 tournament but it seems I made the right choice waiting instead since you picked it up instead. I guess that's why you're one of our resident kickboxing subject matter experts.

Just thinking though, in the intro of the article should we mention his main achievement of winning the 2023 K1 Openweight Grand Prix? I think that's pretty much the whole reason he's noticable and Im not sure if he will get any other achievement that will measure up to that in the future. Imcdc Contact 14:16, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, it sounds like a good idea. It's possible he could go on to get further achievements in both K-1 and WLF, but winning the openweight tournament was a great one. GameRCrom (talk) 14:28, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
