Mpix

[edit]

How would you suggest that the page be updated to reflect the name change next month? I ask only because attempts to update reflecting the upcoming change have been reverted by you twice, thus negating any information of the impending change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jncorp (talkcontribs) 17:53, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Need non-partisan opinion on edit/revert conflict.

[edit]

Hello Emarsee,

I see that you are occasionally fixing up and cleaning the http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Tara_Strong

Recently a non registered editor has been dedicated him/herself to deleting the Popular Culture section on that page. Despite attempts to reason with this user, he/she is adamant about removing this section from the page. As a relatively new editor to Wikipedia I am not sure about the protocols regarding these conflicts. I can of course continue undoing the section blanking by this editor but I don't think that would contribute to Wikipedia as a whole.

Regards dzstoyanov

As far I'm concerned, I believe the anonymous IP's concern are somewhat legitimate. I am well aware of the widespread nature of the "Twilightlicious" meme within the brony fandom, but Wikipedia isn't Know Your Meme. The source you have used does not back up your claim that Twilightlicious stands for "awesome"; there is no mention of the word except in the title of the article. There's no need to create a whole section on how the meme was created nor is there a reason to define it without a reliable source. In my personal opinion, I would be fine with putting a one or two line sentence about the meme into the "Early Life and Career" section, assuming it's reliably sourced. However, this is just my own personal opinion, if you have any other concerns, please take it to Tara Strong's talk page.
On another note, getting Tara Strong's permission on Twitter to put Twilightlicious into her article doesn't actually do anything. Wikipedia's policies of notability and verifiability still apply.  █ EMARSEE 23:01, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hello EMARSEE thank you for your input. So far I've removed the section and moved the contents to Early Life and Career so hopefully that solves some of the conflicts. I think it shouldn't hurt to leave the content there for a while longer for some credible source to be added. The EW article may not have specifically stated the meaning of the phrase but I think their awareness of the phrase should not be discredited. Considering the amount of media attention the My Little Pony fandom is drawing, I'm sure there will be a more definitive article on this subject. Dzstoyanov (talk) 00:13, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WIC 1990s

[edit]

The article Western International Communications needs some upgrading on shows that aired on its channels, CICT, CITV, CISA and CHAN including the article Canada Tonight and BCTV News. You may recognize me as Meebman1419 outside of Wikipedia.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Morning News (Canadian morning TV show), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Regina (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Tara Strong Article EW Article Source

[edit]

Hello EMARSEE, I thought the EW article should stay there since it is meaningful when considering the context in which Twilightlicious is used in the title. It's clearly being used as an adj to describe the BronyCon event which I think justifies leaving it as a source. Just my reasoning, if you disagree then I will leave it be. Orphaned non-free media (File:Astralmedia.svg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Astralmedia.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Granville Island Hotel

[edit]

Hi Emarsee, the reason I added the External link to the Granville Island Hotel on the Granville Island article is because the Hotel is referenced in the "Granville Island Today" section as "A boutique hotel". I believe this hotel is noteworthy enough for it's own article/link, but I am new to authoring/editing and don't have the authority to do so at this time.

Thank you for your contributions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Davegtv (talkcontribs) 21:30, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Article for Metrotown neighbourhood

[edit]

I've been working on a draft for the Metrotown neighbourhood at my sandbox; I'll probably add a few more things, but I think it's almost ready for launch. Do you mind looking over it and letting me know what else I should add or what needs to be fixed? (Or you can just edit my sandbox directly if you want.) I also wanted to get some input with regards to article title. Feel free to involve other users too. Thanks. - Hinto (talk) 18:23, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
