[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created El Cata, and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "ElCata", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Also, it is not your page; you do not own it (see WP:OWN) SQGibbon (talk) 19:49, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

SERIOUSLY???????????? THIS IS MY PAGE! PUT BACK MY CONTENT NOW!

Hello. Yes, Wikipedia is the encyclopedia that anyone can edit, but we do have policies in place to govern how we are to edit. One of them is that no one, including the subject of an article, owns any article on Wikipedia (see this. Editors are also not allowed to use Wikipedia to promote anything especially themselves (see WP:PROMOTIONAL). If you are the subject of the article then you are allowed to edit the article but you must do so carefully and transparently and must follow the policies and guidelines on Wikipedia. You clearly have a conflict of interest which means you need to be very mindful of the kinds of edits you make. If you have any questions or comments you can reach me on my talk page. Thanks. Information icon Hello, ElCata. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article El Cata, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. SQGibbon (talk) 20:21, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Wikipedia

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed you were editing the El Cata article. Please be aware it is extremely ill-advised to edit articles with which you have a personal connection. It is considered a conflict of interest to edit articles about yourself or articles which you are closely connected to. Furthermore, please be aware that you do not own or have any special standing in editing any article on Wikipedia. Wikipedia content is all licensed under a creative commons license, and there are no individual owners of specific articles. We have a policy which states that unequivocally. Even if you unwisely choose to edit articles about which you have a conflict of interest, those edits must be neutral. They may not be promotional in any way. If you do not ensure that, it is very likely someone else will remove your work or alter them to comply with policy and guidelines. Finally, since your username seems to indicate you are El Cata, the subject of the article, you should verify your identity by emailing info-en@wikimedia.org. I am going to block you for the time being until your identity can be verified. I hasten to add, however, that even if your identity is verified, you still are strongly advised against editing the article yourself, and other people will edit the El Cata article. --TeaDrinker (talk) 20:25, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I will add the usual usernameblock template below, since it contains some useful information.

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, ElCata, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Request reason:

HELLO, THIS IS JUST INFORMATION REGARDING MY CAREER, MY COLABORATIONS, ETC. SOMEONE ELSE DID IT AND YOU BLOCKED THEM AS WELL, NOW I AM DOING IT AND YOU ARE BLOCKING ME. WHAT IS GOING ON? THIS IS NOT CONFLICT OF INTEREST IF I AM STATING FACTS THAT YOU CAN FIND ALL OVER. WHAT DO WE DO ? DO I EDIT IT MYSELF OR HAVE SOMEONE DO IT? THIS IS WRONG

Decline reason:

We have clear guidelines about our user names and conflict of interest. You clearly are in violation. On top of that, you are now violating our policy on legal threats. Because of that, your account will remain blocked. only (talk) 21:36, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Decline reason:

Procedural decline. I'm declining this request because the user name you've listed to change to is the current one you have. Since I reviewed your previous request, another admin will take a look at your other unblock request here. Please, though, turn off the caps lock! There is no need to be shouting here! only (talk) 22:54, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Here change my username or should I tell someone else to help me edit the content. Can you do it?

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

AT FIRST SOMEONE EDITED MY PAGE! THEN THEY BLOCKED THEM! NOW I DO IT AND YOU BLOCK ME. THIS IS NOT A THREAT AT ALL, I JUST DON'T DO ANYTHING WITHOUT ADVISE. SO IN THAT CASE I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING WRONG. I NEED TO UPDATE MY PAGE AS THEY ARE REQUESTING IT WITH LATEST INFORMATION ABOUT AWARDS AND MUSIC. DO YOU WANT TO DO IT?

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 23:19, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

OKAY THANKS! PLEASE UNBLOCK ME TO MAKE THE NECESSARY CONTRIBUTIONS THAT ARE NEEDED. ALSO, THERE IS NO DAMAGE DONE TO ANYTHING IN WIKIPEDIA AT ALL, JUST UPDATING. I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE SHOULD NOT BE CONFLICT OF INTEREST ALSO I HAVE NOT DAMAGED ANYTHING. AND THE CONTRIBUTIONS I WILL MAKE WILL BE VERY USEFUL AS THEY AS NEEDED. THANK YOU. AND I USED CAPS BECAUSE I CAN'T READ THE SMALL LETTERS

Decline reason:

You have still not suggested a new username or retracted your legal threat. Since this is now the fourth unblock request in which you have failed to address the reason for your block, I am left to conclude that you are either unwilling or unable to understand the policies of this site. To prevent further inappropriate unblock requests I have removed your ability to edit this page; if you wish to appeal your block again you may do so by contacting the unblock ticket request service. Assuming you understand WP:COI, you understand that Wikipedia users agree to avoid editing articles about themselves. May I ask what areas, besides those pertaining to yourself, you plan on editing? Knowing that would help clarify your intentions and probably help clear this up. - Vianello (Talk) 10:49, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
