Christian Rich

It seems you have deleted any of the new changes I have made to the Christian Rich page. The former discussion had about this page was resolved. That's why it was not deleted.

Massive amounts of material where deleted. I restored those but lost some edits. You'll have to redo those you think are needed. Eeekster (talk) 01:37, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

File permission for File:Delta Psi Delta Alpha Chapter Crest.jpg sent

This was sent to me: Notification: tagging for deletion of File:Delta Psi Delta Alpha Chapter Crest.jpg. (TW) The problem should now be fixed as the owner of the image has emailed permission to use it and another image. Please verify. Georockgal (talk) 15:07, 2 November 2012 (UTC)georockgal

The OTRS people will take care of it. But it might take some time. Eeekster (talk) 20:40, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

Georockgal/Delta Psi Delta (Canada)

I noticed I did not have to submit the page page Delta Psi Delta (Canada) - ronhjones seemed to have done this for me, how will I know it has been approved, or is this its approval? Also I have noticed that other greek groups similar to ours have been put on as a link on the List of Fraternities and Sororities page, and I was wondering if we can also be linked? Have we enough content? Georockgal (talk) 14:38, 7 November 2012 (UTC)georockgal

Me confused???

Am I reaching anyone? What do you mean by a "new talk page?"

got an email (Larryzap) on my foto on the loom page. My attempt to reply to the email failed for reasons I know not why. Your instructions on how to keep the picture make no sense to me (I was never very good at techno-babble). If there is a way to keep the foto pleaz do so. There is a personal matter as I have some wagers that fabric is manufactured in tubes, but I have found virtually nothin' on the web on this fascinating process. Far from axing my contribution I would like someone knowledgeable in the art to make a whole page on circular looms.

Also pleaz understand Wiki guidelines are tiringly contradictory and user unfriendly. Your panorama help page says keep images under 100Mb, an image much smaller that I uploaded (GTEL page) was dumped by someone who says images should be kept under 12Mpx (about 5Mb)??? and on and on. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.136.29.223 (talk) 21:10, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

You are reaching someone but I can't make out what you are trying to say and you aren't signed in so I don't know who you are. Eeekster (talk) 22:39, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

I received your message re image of Doug Dorst. Will comply asap.

Thanks. GM — Preceding unsigned comment added by GuyMannering (talkcontribs) 20:25, 6 November 2012 (UTC)

The Photo

The photo I added was released under the flicker's lisence.

The photo's page says "All rights reserved". That makes it a copyright violation. Eeekster (talk) 02:31, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
The owner list in description that it under the Flicker's Lisence and can be used for Wikiapedia purpose only. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rebecca Maria Herrington (talkcontribs) 22:15, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
That doesn't help at all. In fact that's grounds for immediate deletion. Eeekster (talk) 02:15, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

Two years ago I, tthe copyright holder, took this picture and I uploaded it now to Wikipedia. I have taken many photos of historical places in and around Phoenix which can be found in Wikipedia, such as those found here: Gallery of Historic Structures in Phoenix, Arizona. I kindly request that you remove your nomination. Thank You Tony the Marine (talk) 02:56, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

It's scanned from a hard copy and if you really care, discuss it on the deletion discussion page. This is not the place. Eeekster (talk) 07:29, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
It is not scanned from a hard copy. First of all in order to upload an image from your private collection you must scan it to your computer then upload it to Wikipedia. Since I took the picture, I am the copyright holder as I stated the images file and I am releasing it to Wikipedia. Your insinuation is short of calling me a lair. Learn to discuss issues with others before jumping into conclusions. Tony the Marine (talk) 01:14, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
I've already said this isn't the place to discuss the license issues. Eeekster (talk) 02:16, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

The commons version of this file (File:Mars One logo.png) is tagged {{no license|month=November|day=10|year=2012}} and will be deleted; commons does not accept organisation's logos. Hence my uploading a version to Wikipedia with the appropriate Non-free use rationale. I've removed your {{db-nowcommons}}. -Arb. (talk) 11:53, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

Link rot was designated on the Fork and Spoon Records page, is it for the url section of the infobox record label? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Benjiwiley (talkcontribs) 01:38, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

It's for the one footnote. Eeekster (talk) 02:40, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

The brand may be out of production for a while, but it is not defunct. It will likely be sold to another company through the liquidation process. Too much "brand equity" which means the liquidator can get good money for it. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 20:52, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

I rewrote my revision to clarify the situation. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 20:53, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
And you just threw it into the lead without a source. Eeekster (talk) 21:09, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Um no

The image isn't a "blatant copyright infringement" Mr. Big Shot. It's clearly marked by the CC-BY-SA-2.0 license and the author has given 100 percent permission for its duplication on the page itself. Please instantly remove the candidate for speedy deletion or I will take further action. Have a lovely day. Dodgedbullet (talk) 03:45, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

I read the license at the source and it is a copyright infringement since the license disallows commercial use. That is not compatible with Wikipedia image policy. And please do not continue to post threats. Eeekster (talk) 03:47, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

Are you retarded? Seriously. Click the rights page yourself. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.0/deed.en Dodgedbullet (talk) 04:33, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

Please stop the person attacks. I did look at the rights on the source and they exclude commercial use as does the license you just claimed (which isn't the same as the CC-BY-SA-2.0 you claimed in your initial post). That's not a license you can use on Wikipedia. So stop calling me names and move on. Eeekster (talk) 08:23, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

i am the owner of the photo

i scanned it from my magazine — Preceding unsigned comment added by Windows.dll (talkcontribs) 12:10, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Urassaya Sperbund.jpg

Please suggest a specific example (A valid example picture), thank you.--Noonlucky (talk) 17:59, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

No. I want to see it, for valid example picture, for modify my picture.--Noonlucky (talk) 18:06, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

I don't understand what you are asking. Eeekster (talk) 18:07, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

I want to see valid example picture for modify my picture to be valid. You can help me?--Noonlucky (talk) 18:09, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Your picture can never be "valid" because it is a copyright violation and does not qualify for fair user. Eeekster (talk) 18:10, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Must be "deleted" ? and 2 pictures I wrote is correct or wrong File:Duang Jai Akkanee.jpg & File:Torranee Ni Nee Krai Krong.jpg. --Noonlucky (talk) 18:20, 19 November 2012 (UTC) ???--Noonlucky (talk) 18:27, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Again I have no idea what you are asking. The file is a copyright violation and does not qualify as fair use. Therefore it will be deleted. Eeekster (talk) 18:44, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Image of Lois D'Arcy on "Celebrant (Australia) page

The link to the page in question is http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Celebrant_(Australia)

File:Http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Celebrant (Australia)

I think I did not understand some of the questions preceding the loading of the image. In particular "free use". I could not find a category which ticked that I am authorised to use this image. ( I could not find a category which ticked "I took this photo myself". Regarding File: Lois Darcy -- The person is of historical significance because she is the first clebrant ever appointed under the innovative Australian clebrant programme. The image is also important in that it illustrated that Attorney-General Lionel Murphy appointed young persons to be celebrants (hitherto unheard of) and women as celebrants (hitherto unheard of) -- Regarding copyright I have permission from Lois D'Arcy, the owner of the family photograph, from which I personally scanned the image of her. I would be grateful for any help in keeping straightening out the mess I have obviously made.

You do know how to click on a link to an image at Flickr and see what license it was released under ... right? --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 23:38, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

Yes, I do. Do you? The license of Flikr isn't compatible with Wikipedia and is not the license in the tag you put on the image. Eeekster (talk) 23:43, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

I declined this one - you may be correct, but I found that

Maybe take it to WP:PUF for a better review? Whatever happens, it's clear that the license {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-3.0|migration=redundant}} is totally incorrect.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 00:54, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

Editing Question

Hi. I had a copyright question. On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills page, Yolanda Foster's section is copied word-for-word from the Bravo site. I'm not sure whether to remove it or if it's okay as is. Can you guide me as to what I should do in these situations? --Recollected (talk) 01:06, 27 November 2012 (UTC)Recollected

It should be removed. Say why you are doing so in the edit summary. Eeekster (talk) 01:08, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

Help

Hi can you help me with an insertion of a Orphaned non-free revisions tag for File:Carl's Jr. Signage.svg, as you did on File:Long Beach, CA Police.jpg. I'm not quite sure how do insert it properly with dates in all. A million thanks FOX 52 (talk) 19:39, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

Ajit Gupta photo

Hi Eeekster. I hope I made the right change as you suggested for the photo image of Ajit Gupta in this article:

http://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Ajit_Gupta

JayMejia (talk) 01:54, 28 November 2012 (UTC)JayMejia

The right change would be for you to ask for the image to be deleted since there is no way it can be fair use. Eeekster (talk) 02:00, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

Altaf Shaikh Photo

The picture File:Altaf Shaikh.jpg is made visible to anyone (Public on the web) in the albums of his own Google+ profile. Under the terms of Google this content can be used and modified as written under the heading your content in our service...Read here [[1]]...I have also pasted this link in the permission section of the image...Aliahmed47 (talk) 21:36, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

That policy gives Google a license; it does not give the entire world one. Eeekster (talk) 23:43, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

That policy is for any shared content whether public or circles only and Google has not mentioned anywhere whether the images shared to public can be used by third party or not...But the public images on Google plus I believe can be used and shared by anyone...It is quite obvious...Anything in the public domain can be used here on Wikipedia as per the policy...Aliahmed47 (talk) 11:03, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

The image is not public domain. Eeekster (talk) 19:58, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

On the right hand corner of the Album in which the picture is present it is written Public and if you click it you can also see the detail which says Visible to anyone (Public on the web)...The link is to the album is given in the permission...Aliahmed47 (talk) 21:30, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
