Speedy deletion nomination of UbrosKart

[edit]

Hello Dr.suaro,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged UbrosKart for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Jppcap (talk) 15:36, 7 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Ubroskart

[edit]

First of all, I am not an admin, and therefore I can neither delete pages nor can I restore them after they were deleted. I was not even the person who tagged it for deletion. Second of all, UbroSkart was deleted because it was clearly not notable. A Google news search for it had no results. So, even if I could (which I can't) I would not restore your page. JDDJS (talk) 04:10, 8 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The page was deleted under our A7 speedy deletion criterion, which says "This applies to any article about a real person, individual animal(s), organization, web content or organized event that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, with the exception of educational institutions." The first part of the article you wrote made it sound as if UbrosKart were just another website, while the second part included content such as "It is the only online shopping company which has...", and these elements would also have made the page eligible for deletion as advertising. Wikipedia is not a place to advertise your company: it is an encyclopedia, where companies are not eligible for articles unless they've been covered in reliable print or the most reliable web sources, such as books, academic journals, government publications, and retrospective news articles. Companies formed just a few months ago have almost no chance at qualifying, and the exceptions are normally mergers or other "adjustments" of pre-existing companies that qualified for articles, like Google's new parent company, Alphabet Inc. Hi

Thanks for the information, Actually i am writing this for the first time on wikipedia. We will make sure that our company will get some publications and articles on website or any other media before writing on this company again.

Could you please guide me how can i write on this same name after some months. It seems to be blocked now.

Thanks Dr.suaro 13:59, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

I don't know what you mean by "it seems to be blocked now", because I can't see anything that someone's done to prevent you from creating pages or to prevent one of these pages from being recreated. Could you give more details? Meanwhile, note the "retrospective" bit in what I said above. You need solid secondary sources, not news reports (they're primary sources for the incidents that they're reporting) or appearances on ordinary websites. Can you find some extensive profiles of your company on a website operated by a state government or the federal government, or even a website of the Government of Delhi? I don't mean a few sentences: I mean detailed reports about the company's activities and history. Or has your company gotten significant print coverage, either in an academic journal or a leading magazine such as Business India or Forbes India? You're allowed to use non-English sources, but if you're relying on sources published in Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, etc., you must use sources as reputable as the English ones I mentioned, and your sources must give extensive details about your company. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ubroskart requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Genghis Khan

[edit]

Please do not change Genghis Khan's name to your own preferred version. The current article is the common name and is agreed to by consensus. If you want the article renamed then you need to start a discussion at the appropriate talk page. Thanks,  Philg88 talk 09:59, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
