Help

[edit]

I am a user mostly at Turkish Vikipedi. They called me "potential vandal" there. I want to ask you something about Wikipedia rules.

a) Let's suppose the source and the sentences do not agree. In this case, is removing sourced sentences vandalism?

b) The source and the sentence agree but I don't like the sentence, perhaps it's just a detail of the topic or the sentence uses bad language. Can I remove this sentence? Or if I remove it, is it vandalism?

c) One additional question. Is changing a controversial page without discussion first vandalism?

d) Is writing a sentence that violates NPOV policy vandalism?

e) Is reinserting that sentence which violates NPOV policy after changing the wording of the sentence in order to make it neutral vandalism?

English Wikipedia rules likely differ, please do not use our rules as a guideline to editing elsewhere.
a. not necessarily
b. if it's useless trivia, you can remove it; if it makes an attacking statement, you can remove it.
c. sometimes
d. sometimes
e. sometimes

I don't know your situation so it's usually "sometimes". Please, try to follow this page to reduce conflict. fetch·comms 21:57, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What's the category for uploading a picture to English Wikipedia that has PD-self licence in Turkish Vikipedi (I am not the uploader).

In Turkish Vikipedi, PD-self licence is just the translation of this paragraph: "I, the copyright holder of this work, hereby release it into the public domain. This applies worldwide.

In case this is not legally possible, I grant any entity the right to use this work for any purpose, without any conditions, unless such conditions are required by law." Or what's the category when uploading a image that has PD-self licence to Wikimedia Commons if you know how to do this? Dizikaygisiz (talk) 22:13, 15 August 2010 (UTC) {{help}}[reply]

{{PD-self}}. fetch·comms 22:15, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
